Please don't harm my baby

Very early in the morning, but no human will be up at such an hour, except like the figure walking down the corridor they also need a drink. Glory was on her way to the kitchen with a little water bottle in her hand.

Her journey came to a halt when she saw that the beam of light coming from Xavier's room, curiosity got the best of her and she tiptoed towards the door on getting to the door she gently tapped her knuckle on it.

Knock

knock.

" Xavier , Xavier, is everything ok in there?" She called repeatedly but there was no response from him.

Xavier, if you're okay in there, just make a sound, your silence is making me worried. " This time her voice sounds panicking, like she will barge into the room in the next minute, but she knows where to draw the line.

Although she was very certain nothing would happen between them, if they share the a bed , but Xavier never allowed her into his room since she step foot into this house, sometimes she would put on the facade of being scared and can't sleep alone, just to make him let her in but instead of doing that he will follow her to her room and tug her into bed again,then remain guard at her balcony, which isn't what she wants but she just couldn't push her luck too hard for fear that he will see through her .

The door open and Xavier poked his head out , on seeing her worried face he reluctantly stepped out and stood at the entrance with his head lazily resting at the door post. Even though it was brief she saw the heavy smoke inside, some of it even followed him out when he opened the door, making her enter a coughing fit on seeing her like this , Xavier fully stepped out shutting the door tightly behind him .

" Jeez!.." cough,cough " just how much did you smoke?" she retorted appalled, did he even sleep at all?, there's a possibility that he stayed up all night smoking.

" Are you like this because things didn't go as planned where you went to last night?." Her big eyes were glued to his face, carefully scrutinizing his every expression even though he had allowed one cross his stoic face.

Last night she saw him rushing out with Judith trying to catch up with him, even though she was sure their eyes met he didn't say a word to her, which was very unusual, although she was worried sick she didn't let him know. Seeing her angry face Xavier forced a little smile, before denying her words.

" No, it's just a bad habit of mine, don't stress my baby thinking about things like this, next time. " he said touching her flat tummy but she needed no diviner to analyze the situation to her, she could tell he doesn't want to talk about it, she flashed him a fake smile, playfully pinching his hand on her tummy, when he retract it, she grabbed it, looking up at him with a sparkling eyes.

" Look, the sun is about to rise soon. Come, let's hurry to the front gate." she urged, but he quickly rejected her idea, instead he picked another site, " let go to the roof instead." he suggested.

She already noticed his little reaction when she mentioned watching it at the gate, she took note to ask Mrs Leah later when he's out.

" Good morning sunshine, breakfast in bed. Alex 's excited voice tenderly called out to the sleeping beauty in his guest room while using his leg to pull out the little bedside table. After placing the tray of food on the table,he quietly sat at the edge of her bed, watching her sleep.

, " Good morning," he greeted again, jolting up from the bed with a flushed face. He was almost caught in the act, just now.

Without a word, Clara got out of bed, and went straight to the washroom, because she took a long time to come out, when she did, Alex was no longer in the room. She stood there glaring at the carefully prepared meal before she waltzed past it, to her wardrobe, she picked a cloth,got dressed and left the room without sparing the food another glance.

On getting to the sitting room she met Alex who just returned from the kitchen, " did you finish the food?," He asked delightedly," I will go clean your room, " he said changing the topic when he got no response from his previous question. She just looked away from him, but he didn't give up, " You are not going to work today? " he asked again, taking in her dressing.

" I just want to be alone for today. I want to go out for a walk." she finally answered.

" Ok, that's more like my girl, don't worry very soon all these will be things of the past and you will have a little rascal to take care of. " He assured her with a brilliant smile, which she returned on hearing about her baby running around.

He was very happy to see her smile at him like that, so he forgot his initial quest of arranging her room and picked up his bag, leaving for work, few minutes after he left Clara followed, she flagged down a taxi on getting to the bus stop , after the taxi drove off a black car followed.

Because of the uneasy feeling he was having in the pit of his stomach Alex didn't leave for work instead he packed at a corner and only started his car when he saw her leave.

The taxi stopped in front of a private cheap looking hospital, Clara highlighted from the taxi,paid the driver, before walking into the hospital.

Alex watched her from behind, wondering why she came to such a hospital, ' gosh!, I can't believe I would be this careless! " He hit his head," of course after what happened last night she needs a check up, but I was too carried away and forgot something that important,

I just got walked up for nothing. "

He carefully packed his car before following her in like a caring husband. Previously he thought it was Nora, but Nora wouldn't have taken the initiative to come here on her own because of the baby she doesn't want.

Clara walked into an office while he hid at the reception area waiting patiently, he will just lia that he came here for business, if she asks.

" What a pity that lady is just too pretty, I'm sure her baby will be an eye candy, unfortunately she wants to abort it. "A female nurse who followed her in, gossip to her co-workers

" Poor thing, even when she's already four months gone, if the abortion is successful she may not be able to get pregnant again and if care is not taken she may even lose her life during the process." another nurse chimed in.

" If only she gave birth that baby would have been as beautiful as she was, but that's only if she didn't go under the knife to get her looks. " Another nurse sneered, earning a glare from the previous two.

The conversation of this woman got into Alex's ears. 'What abortion?' he muttered walking to them .

" Sorry ladies, please what is the name of that patient?" He asked politely.

" Clara, her file says Clara Davis. "The third nurse who was maximized by his beauty immediately answered without thinking, but on hearing her statement he grabbed her hand.

" Please take me to her. I'm her husband, please she can't afford to lose that child. " He pleaded desperately, all along it was Nora who was acting like Clara to fool him.

Inside the ward the doctor stood dumbstruck looking at the woman lying down on the bed in horror.

He was about to give her the anesthetic shot but the patient kept changing her mind .

" Madam, do you really want this abortion to commence?" he asked, gritting his teeth .

" Yes!, idiot, what are you standing there for?. " "An aggressive voice cursed at him, casting him a deadly glare, which immediately disappeared and was replaced with pleading ones when she opened her mouth to speak again. It was something else, she said.

" No, please don't kill my baby. " That gentle voice was that of a mother who is desperately begging for her unborn child, so how can he proceed?

" What are you still doing standing there doctor I've already paid you,if I get up here I will have your head. " came the aggressive and rude voice from the same person, this time his life was even threatened .

" Ok stay in a place and spread your legs. "The doctor instructed me to get ready to go into action .

" If that thing should come close to my skin, I promise I will make sure you become impotent, you monster! " This time it was neither the aggressive voice or the gentle pees of a mother, this time it was a totally different tone, which got the doctor's leg weakened and the cold instrument in his hand immediately dropped forcing him to take a step back in fear.

The door was kicked open

" Sir you can't go in like that " followed the panicking voice of a nurse.

" Clara!" Alex yelled, ignoring the noise behind him,he ran towards the pale woman lying on the bed, " are you okay?" He asks desperately checking her up, " Doctor she's my wife." Alex quickly informed the doctor, he was so scared since he couldn't find anything on Clara, he turned to the doctor, he only calmed down when he saw the injections lying untouched.

" Call me back when you two are ready, doctors don't have time to waste." the Doctor retorted angrily leaving the both of them.

" Why are you here? " Nora's aggravated voice drew Alex's attention back to Clara, she couldn't believe that with acting this morning he still suspected something and followed her here , just what so special about this woman?.

" I can't allow you to hurt my baby. " he replied. If this was someone else he wouldn't have exitate to send them to hell.

" Your child?!" She giggled loudly mockery visible in her eyes, Alex stared down at her perplexed until she stop laughing, " you believed it's yours , because of what that ignorant fool said, do you think she will want to keep it if it were to be yours, with her personality she wouldn't even want to see your face."

" what are you saying?. " Alex refused to believe her, " I can show you the test results, she's already pregnant before that night you can see for yourself, she allowed you to take care of her thinking it was your child, you've been playing a fool because you still refused to let her go. "
