" Clara" he called again, yet no response, the four babies were still crying.

" Don't.. don't call my mummy, you bad a** " little treasure said between snobs, at first he didn't find this Uncle to be a bad person, but why will his aunt that was just fine a moment ago end up in a hospital bed the moment he appeared, now he's calling his Mom by her name, what will become of them if their mommy also ended up like big auntie?.

This person must be dangerous since his Mom isn't even replying to him.

" Take another step and watch us call the cops on you! "Little cupcake threatened using his small hand to protect his mom and sister by forming a barrel. The young boys look very alarmed but one could see how scared they are.

Xavier felt his heart shattered into many pieces, he has indeed failed, what is man if his presence was not even acknowledged by his children.

Yes he takes delight in seeing people trembling at his feet but not them, not his own kids, not his family , where will he start from?His heart ached so badly that he couldn't even breath, but he had to,he needed to tender an apology,he them one.

He was in a daze,he only broke from when the woman he had been longing for, once again tried to protect his reputation in front of their kids.

" No baby, he's not a bad person. "As much as Clara longs to disappear on the spot, she doesn't have the heart to remain silent while he kids view their father as a bad person, it's better she's the only one with the memories of his tyranny.

Xavier stared down at the woman in front of him perplexed, she just said he's not a bad person,how is he not a bad person after everything he has done to her. The kids are also wrong, he's not a person, he's a monster, the worst scum that has ever lived. But her transformation made him speechless. Did she grow taller?Her body is more sexy now and her dressing is too loud. Wait a minute, he remembered she has D.I.D , this is bad, what if she's still struggling with it?. His gaze turned into that of concern as he hurriedly covered the distance between them.

" Clara, " he gently pulled her from the ground straight into his arms, Clara's heart was pounding so fast that she was scared that it would pop out , if care was not taken.

" Clara, are you okay now? , Please don't cry, look the kids are crying because of your tears, everything will be okay now, look I found you even though it took a long time but that's all in the past now , you and our kids are here with me now I won't let anything happen to any of you , we will start.... "

He stopped remembering that in the past he was always the decision maker, not minding if she is okay with whatever change he introduced.

" Our family is now complete Clara , can, can we start all over again?, this time I won't be a jerk, that d*ckhead you met in the past is no longer alive , I.. I.... I promise to be a good husband and father to you and our kids,let me fix our broken past, please, can.. you t-take me back?. "

Clara's voice caught in her throat, as she quietly stared into those eyes that were always glaring coldly at her in the past, today the look in those eyes were just what she has always wished to see but could only see when he's with Glory.

'. did she hear correctly or her ears are deceiving her? He's asking for my permission,right? I just need to say yes and our family will be complete , this was something I dreamt of all these years but why's he doing this? '

Xavier watched speechlessly as the expression on her face changed over and over again, he couldn't help but allow his thoughts go wild .

' Am I late?, did another Alex appear in our life again,or was it the same Alex?Alex, that guy's already married , seams like another man is courting death , and I will be sure to give it to him just the way he wants it , after all this year I can't let some idiot into our lives again !! Xavier clenched his fist and bit down on his bottom lip until he tasted blood.

' Tch,boss is really the weirdest weirdo I have ever seen, you want the madam back but you didn't tell her why, I don't think the lady here is still that naive little miss Davis from the past. Tony,who was quietly listening to their conversation couldn't help but point out how bad Xavier is when it comes to being romantic .

" Excuse me, boss, I need to go meet my wife and tell her how much I love her. " It was obvious he was leaving a hint of what to say for his boss, but what he did not expect was Clara offering to pay Judith a visit, using it as an excuse to avoid the topic on ground..

" Your wife is here? '' Clara asks pulling away and taking two more steps away from Xavier, since it seems very awkward just standing there and staring at each other, she has been looking for a change of topic and Tony just jumped in at the right time.

' Stupid Tony, can't you find another pointer, idiot!.' Xavier cursed inwardly.

" Hmm, yes, she is in one of the wards here, she just gave birth to bed. " Xavier answered why he inwardly cursed Tony million times

" Grandpa! "The kids screamed running to the cold looking guy approaching them , in fact he was almost running towards them.

Ryan was in a meeting when he heard what happened,he immediately called it off,he drove like a mad man just to get here on time, he didn't even pay attention to the rascals running towards him, what was in his mind was his wife's safety .

" Clara, what happened to her? she was fine when she left home this morning..... "

He stopped talking on noticing the person standing beside Clara, agitated he bounced on him." Xavier , where on earth did you appear from?" He ask pulling him by his collar… what was supposed to be a heated argument was suddenly interrupted by the doctor who just stepped out of Lola's ward.

" Who's the patient's relative. " He ask

" I am."Ryan let go of Xavier and stepped forward.

He turned to glare at him before turning to the doctor, " she's my wife. ".

" She would like to see you, please, while with her being considerate, the patient still needs to rest but she insists on seeing you. "

the doctor said a small smile before excusing himself.

Inside her ward, Lola was touching her stomach. She couldn't wait to break the news to that stupid man, she looked up when the door opened immediately she started crying, on seeing her in such a state Ryan felt guilty.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have let you guys alone,if I were to be here things wouldn't have been like this."

" Why did you do this to me, Ryan,why?" she said crying even more and at the same time hitting his chest.

" Please don't cry, the doctor said not to stress you " Ryan pleaded, trying to comfort her.

" How do you expect me to cope with this for nine months, my beautiful shape will be ruined because of you.....u!"

" don't worry I will buy you another one ,okay?You know I can afford anything for you,so stop crying, I'm really sorry. " not understanding what she's saying, he was busy promising to buy whatever she asks for.

" It's not something money can buy, you dummy! " angrily she freed herself from his arms glaring at him .

" Sweetheart,there's nothing money can't buy....y, Huh!, did you say nine months and shape? , what do you mean by that? " he was confused by all this crying and her face was not wet.

He looked at her stomach and raised his eyebrows at her in a questioning way, Lola turned pink and immediately buried her face in her palms smiling, but his next statement made her speechless.

" Is it serious, should I call the doctor back?" He is concerned.

'Can any one be more stupid than him?' she thought to herself.

" Fine, I don't understand, I'm not saying a word to you, now get out!! "She tried kicking him out of bed but he's way stronger, left with no other option, she turned her back to him, but instead of begging her, like he always does, Ryan burst into a laughing fit, she threw him a questioning glare, " what so funny?"

Instead of answering he suddenly embraced her kissing every part of her face. "Thank you very much for giving me such a priceless gift." he said in between the kisses. "

" You understand? "Lola was the one confused this time.

" I'm going to be a father, very soon and you think I will remain a dumbass? " he replied smiling

Good thing he knew he's one.

"The doctor said I'm one month gone, where's Clara?I need to share this big news! " she was so happy.

Clara and the kids walked in, with Xavier behind them .

" Clara! Big news!Guess what? "

Clara just flashed her a smile,if there's one thing she hates, that should be guessing.

" Aunty Lola has eaten something big. "Little treasure said pointing at her stomach, he remembered asking his mom why their home teacher's stomach suddenly started growing big, that was the response he got from her, auntie Lola had been touching her stomach and smiling just like his teacher would.

" Huh!?,something big?" Lola asked, staring at him and his mother, Clara's eyes widened and she hurriedly occupied the little space beside the bed, grabbing her friend's hand and asking.

" Did you really eat something big, sister?"

"Honestly,you are way too good at explaining, just don't try it again. something big? " Lola's voice was filled with sarcasm as she rolled her eyes backward.

She then noticed the man behind Clara.

"Now, this explains why you are more fond of little cupcakes." She whispered softly to Clara before winking at her.

"He is really a hot chocolate." She stared at him hungry, not realizing someone is dying of jealousy.

" I'm still here." Ryan said, clearing his throat, " the doctor said she needs to rest!" He said glaring at Xavier then nodding at the door.

" You should have some respect. I'm your brother-in-law and apart from that I know many things about you, so if you want a peaceful marriage, you should show some respect.''Xavier 's words were only meant for Ryan to hear since they are sitting close to each other .

" Look who's talking!, did you forget I'm your father-in-law?You don't even have manners , is this how you talk to your elders?How am I sure my daughter and grandkids are in safe hands?" If he wants to play this game,then he's in, being business rivals, the both of them hold one if not more than one dirty secret against each other.

Xavier was speechless, elder my foot , this idiot forgot we are age mates.

Seeing them shutting each other's lance, the two ladies started laughing.

***A month later***

" Dressed in a black gown , Clara stared up at the tell building before her, " why did Xavier ask me to come here? This late and Lola even got me dressed up like this. " She slowly pushed the door open and a smiling Waiter led her to a room.

" Thanks." she said politely before walking in, the room was very dark but immediately she stepped in it lit up in different colors , the room was beautifully decorated , when she looked at the walls she was surprised to see a big frame of them under the maple tree." How did he do it?" was the first thing that came to her mind ,if she remembered clearly they didn't take any pictures back then she smiled remembering those days.

" You are here," she was startled when she heard his voice behind her , she turned to face him and her eyes were blessed with the sight of the most handsome man she had ever seen. When she noticed that she was checking him out she blushed and cleared her throat .

" You look very handsome tonight. "She openly complimented

' ehh that was supposed to be my line, she beats me to it.'

" You are beautiful as always. '' he said, this is awkward.

, " Hm, please have a seat. " he helped her pulled out a chair, ' Fu*k this is too awkward, when did I become this nervous around her?

"Do you like it?" he asked, smiling.

" Hmm , like what? " she didn't understand him.

" This place " he has never done this before, this is all Alex and Tony's idea, if she did not like it he would have to behead one of them.

" Oh, not really, but I love you! " she didn't know that she said her thoughts out, until he choked on his drink.

Clara, when did you become this brainless?, this must be because of Lola .

It was Xavier's turn to blush, ' my Clara has really changed,she said she love me.'

" Clara "

" Yes"

" Listen I want to tell you something very important , forget about the long speech that Ryan prepared I will go straight to the point, I also have feelings for you , I don't know how it started but when you left I felt so empty , like my whole world has fallen apart, then it drawn on me that I... I.. I , you see, I…I . Please, wait a minute, I need to use the toilet. " he ran into the toilet without waiting for her response, his heart was racing so fast that it might jump out.

' Xavier, when did you become like this?,I love you , I love you Clara, are these words so difficult to say? ' he roughened his hair when he saw his reflection in the mirror he immediately redressed it before stepping out , he must look his best today .

" I love you. " he said very fast but almost in a whisper.

"Excuse me?" Clara asks, blinking rapidly, pretending not to hear what he just said.

"I said, I love you Clara." Xavier repeated himself more confidently this time.

Bang !!!

The wine glass in her hand fell to the ground and broke.

" What ?, what did you just say? " She asked, standing up.

" I said I love you, Clara, Clara I love you and I don't mind repeating it over and over again. " he answered.

" Say it again "she ordered

" I love you Clara Davis"

" I love you more than ever Xavier Reynold. Clara screamed throwing herself on him.

" Thank you for coming into my life, and giving me those cute bunnies. "

" Thanks for forgiving and accepting a jerk like me back into your life, Clara, I will forever be sorry for hurting an angel like you, and I promise to make it up to you and our kids for the rest of my life…"

" Ssssh," she placed a finger on his lips, shouting him up.

"Let's forget about the past and create new memories of our happy family."

She slowly stared down on those thin kissable lips of his and slowly she tiptoed but she still found it hard to meet his lips with hers , disappointed she looked at him with longing eyes until he bent his neck and captured her soft lips.

Their tongue dance inside each other mouth, they kissed forgetting their food they just allowed their lips to tell each other how much they love and missed each other, not long clothes started flying to every corner of the room, Xavier carried her off the ground and made her straddle him when he noticed her legs went weak,he carried her to the bed.

God knows he will have to exchange two lifetimes, just to be gentle with her tonight, for the past four years now he has never been intimate with anyone.

They made passionate love throughout the night, finding it hard to let go , their painful memories were long forgotten , tonight they just want to be in the arms of that one person who made their life complete.
