Holly stood at the ready to go on stage. She was fired up and ready to clean house on the men of IWX. Other than fighting her brothers, Holly was fearless. The countdown began, and the crowd chanted in unison.
“Five… Four... three... two…”
((Buzzer.))
Holly ran onto the stage and down the ramp. The first woman to break through the glass ceiling and enter the Breakdown Battle. It was not only a significant chance for Holly to show her talent, but she was breaking barriers for the women of IWX. Maybe leading to more inter-gender title chances as time went on.
The woman backstage cheered, seeing her slide into the ring. She wasn’t the first to go against men in IWX, but she was making a big statement tonight about the change in the role women had been working hard to make.
Holly went to the center of the mat and let out a primal yell with arms outstretched and fist clenched. One of the younger wrestlers rushed her, and she turned her head and smiled an evil grin at him.
“Time to play little pet.”
The guy stopped in his tracks, backed up with his arms up to show he didn’t want to fight her. As Holly stalked closer to the man, he backed up into a hard chest. He slowly looked over his shoulder and Cyrus were standing over him. The man was wide-eyed and looked like he saw a ghost.
Cyrus looked at Holly and nodded his head at the man. She knew without her brother saying a word what he was thinking. In a second’s notice, they double-teamed the smaller man. It only took a moment to eliminate him after they powerbombed him to the mat.
Holly and Cyrus stood up, after pinning the man, and looked at each other. Holly shivered, seeing the determination in her brother’s eyes. Brother and sister, toe-to-toe. Something she was trying to avoid at all costs. The crowd exploded, expecting them to collide. Suddenly two other wrestlers attacked and distracted them from their standstill. Again, the brother and sister duo teamed together. One after one, eliminating men right and left.
In the end, there are three people left in the ring. They had eliminated Davis early on, to no one’s surprise. Dustin, Cyrus, and Holly were the last ones standing. Her teammate from Retribution. Dustin shook his head as the duo stared him down.
He just laughed. “Well, son of a bitch. I’m screwed.”
Holly giggled. “Scared princess?”
Dustin grinned and waved her on. “Bring It on goth Barbie. Bring It on.”
Holly and Dustin grappled and fought back and forth. Cyrus just leaned back into the corner with his arms crossed over his chest and legs at the ankles. He’d just sit back watching his baby sister do all the work. No need for him to get too overexerted.
It took no time for Holly to eliminate Dustin. He was tough, but after fighting for almost an hour, his stamina wasn’t what it would have been normally.
Dustin rolled out of the ring and gave a salute to Holly. “Bring it home, baby girl.”
Holly stood in the center of the ring, yet to realize who the only person left to eliminate was her brother. The crowd started going crazy. She turned around finding Cyrus standing behind her smiling a wicked grin. He looked down his nose at her, lacing his brows in determination.
“Sister.”
Holly smirked. “Brother.”
“Wanna play?”
“Always.” Holly rubbed her hands together like this was the best time of her life.
The two collided like two gods in a great war. Both loving every second. It wasn’t the first time they had fought in the ring, but this time neither was holding anything back. They had an end goal, and that was the chance at the Heavyweight title. The number one contender spot was just one pin away.
After some time going back and forth, they were using the ring belts to hold them up. It exhausted them to their very cores but still loving the fight, nonetheless. Cyrus was panting, trying to catch his breath.
“Ready to give up old man?”
“Not a chance. Why? Are you getting tired? Past your bedtime little one?”
“Nope. Just getting warmed up.”
“You sure? You can give up now and save yourself some pain.”
“Pain is my middle name.”
Holly went to rush him, and Cyrus dodged her, throwing her into a ring belt. He stumbled around the ring and Holly instantly noticed he was getting weak. Her chance to strike.
Holly went to the top rope and once Cyrus turned to face her, she jumped feet-first into Cyrus’ chest. Stunned and flat on his back, she quickly rolled him up for the pin.
“One… two… three,” the referee and the crowd chanted together.
Holly rolled back, realizing she won. She ran her hands over her head in shock and started crying tears of joy. The referee helped her to her feet as they raised her arm in victory.
“Winner and the new number one contender for the Heavyweight title, Holly Bordeaux!”
Cyrus got up from the mat and went to his sister. They stood for a second sizing each other up chest to chest. A slow smile crept across Cyrus’s face and he pulled her in for a huge hug.
“You did it, baby sister. Congratulations. Great match.” Cyrus raised her hand as the crowd cheered.
Colt had been waiting in the wings and as soon as he saw her hand raised, he and the rest of Retribution ran to the ring. Colt slid in the ring and ran to her, kissing and spinning her around. He and Dustin raised her on their shoulders in celebration as her brother just watched on with pride.
