During a promo with Candy, Gage and the guys were ready to head to the ring. Candy was going on about the pay-per-view coming up that weekend against Holly for the women’s championship. The Justice music played, and Gage, Drake, and Nick made their way to the ring. Candy watching Gage prance around the ring had her irritated that he interrupted her.
“Can I help you guys?” Candy asked.
Gage took the mic from her hand. “Look what we have here. Some eye-Candy. I was nice enough to let you stand up here and speak your piece, but I suggest you take a hike. Unless you want to stay and entertain us? Maybe give us some of that candy. I bet you taste sweet.”
Gage checked her out as Drake grabbed her ass, and she pushed him away.
“You’re sick. You jerks will pay for this.” Candy jumped from the ring to leave.
As Candy made it halfway up the stage ramp, Isis exited the curtain, blocking her.
“Where are you going, sweets? You seem to have my gold around your waist. Why don’t you just drop the title now? I’m coming for you, and I know you’re scared.”
Candy got in Isis’s face as Gage and the guys watched the girls argue.
Gage finally interrupted them. “Wait just one damn minute. Candy, Isis is ready to fight. I think it’s time we let our girl off her leash. Enjoy your five minutes of fame, sweet cheeks. When my girl gets in the ring with you, she is going to take that title.”
“Candy, good luck this weekend. If you make it that far,” Isis boasted as she got in her friend’s face and sucker-punched her.
Candy went stumbling backward. The crowd booed as Candy was a fan favorite and Isis was slowly becoming a heel.
The women had become close, and it was hard for them both to not crack a smile at the fighting they had been doing on the show. Candy got in position, acting like she was ready to fight back.
“Hold up there, ladies! Don’t destroy each other just yet.” Gage stopped them. “I just spoke to Sam and Davis Preston backstage. Since you screwed Isis out of her number one contender shot last week, Isis will get her chance to get her hands on you. Candy, whoever wins the women’s heavyweight title this weekend, will face Isis next month at The Frenzy. Isis, sweetheart, why don’t you let that little candy-coated Barbie doll go and come join us.”
Isis smiled up at Gage and went to his side, throwing shade back to Candy as she went. She wasn’t sure how they kept a straight face all that time.
Candy walked off stage, pretending to be mad.
Isis jumped in the ring, and Gage grabbed her around the waist. She struggled to get away as she always did, to keep the illusion they were still not on good terms.
“Isis, do I get anything for taking care of my goddess? A treat for being a good boy and giving you your title match?”
Isis scanned the arena and pretended to seek the crowds’ opinion. Since her first appearance, she had been a thorn in Gage’s side in Justice. Only over the past few weeks had Gage’s character worked to get her on his side. Isis wrapped her arm around his neck and motioned for him to come in closer. Gage gave his sexy sly grin and for the first time on live TV, Isis kissed him.
He wasn’t expecting her to be so into a stage kiss. Her tongue massaging his was a little more erotic than he planned. He remembered her little fetish about the ring and groaned as the kiss became more passionate. He ran his hands down her back and grabbed her bottom to give it a squeeze. When he stopped, she bit her lip seductively and wiped the moisture from the corner of her lip. Her eyes stayed on him.
The crowd went crazy with boos and jeers. For weeks, they were not sure if Isis was a heel or a babyface. Now there was no question. Isis was the official member of Justice and was now one of them.
They finished their segment that ended in Davis coming to the ring, telling security to escort Gage from the building for an attack on the Retribution faction the week before.
“Davis, I’m going to leave. Not because you said so, but because I want to, with my beautiful Isis here. We have some very personal business to take care of.”
Gage and the crew quickly went backstage, and he stopped by Nick, whispering so Isis didn’t hear.
“Tell Jacob I’m leaving. Isis and I are going to go for dinner. We’ll talk to you guys tomorrow.”
Gage suddenly returned to his serious, controlling self and grabbed Isis’s hand. Cocky and determined, he strutted down the hall.
“Gage? What about our bags?”
“I took care of it. We have some unfinished business to take care of.”
He pulled her arm through his, rushing her away. They reached the limo, and he helped her in, trying to keep a stern look on his face.
Isis looked at him questionably. She hated that look now. It either meant she did something wrong or he was mad. It used to turn her on; maybe even still did.
“Everything okay? Did I do something wrong?”
He opened the limo door, seemingly angry, expecting his punishment. Almost wanting it, knowing what would happen after. It had been a few weeks since they had played his games. She realized she missed being his submissive.
“Get in.” He looked down at her, and his face came nose to nose with her. “Don’t defy me. Not tonight.”
Isis saw his expression. It was like when they first met. Fear took over with a hint of excitement. “I thought this was over. What did I do?”
“Get. In.” Gage glared at her.
She swallowed hard, expecting she upset him over something. She figured it was not telling Cyrus and Wraith about their engagement. Isis bit her lip, almost ready to cry. Gage hadn’t been mad at her in weeks. She went silent and turned to get in the limo. Isis entered the car with her back turned to him.
A sly grin came over Gage’s face, leaning over the limo door. Resting his arm on the door facing, he waited for her to notice what was going on.
“Oh my gosh, Gage! Roses! The whole limo is full of white Kennedy roses. My favorite. How… how did you know?”
“I remember Cyrus used to always send you those on special occasions. I asked him a few weeks ago why and he said they were your favorite. I asked Cyrus about marrying you before we went to Europe. That’s why he didn’t get upset. He knew you hadn’t told Wraith, so he played it off.” Gage slid in the limo and took her in his arms. “I love you, baby. I told you I want to make you happy. I have a few surprises tonight. Just go with it, okay?”
“I love you. Where has this sweet man been?”
“Lost, but I’m here now. I’ll never be that guy again. I promise. Regardless of the show storylines. Behind the scenes, I will be the man you deserve. Although, I still might give you a little spanking from time to time for the fun of it.” He winked.
Isis giggled. “Tonight has been so great. I’m sorry I didn’t tell Wraith and Cyrus. I wasn’t sure they would realize you are back to your old self.”
“Baby, I know. I understand.”
“So… when exactly did you plan to tell me about getting that title match?” She smiled, moving to straddle his lap.
“Surprise!” Gage chuckled.
“I almost lost it. I could tell Candy was about to lose it, too. She knew, didn’t she?”
“Yep. She wants to take some time off for family, so it was good timing. How was it telling one of your best friends that you’re going to take her title spot away?”
“Eek, don’t remind me. I must’ve apologized to her about a hundred times over.”
“Just buy her a bag of Starburst and she will be fine. Candy has an addiction to pink ones. It’s not healthy.”
“Her name is perfect. Candy with the candy. Even scripted, it’s difficult saying those things to her.”
“Sometimes, it is. It’s a good way to vent if you have any pent-up aggression,” he joked. “We’re here. Come on.”
Gage had taken her to a boat dock where he rented a yacht and had a beautiful dinner ready for them, while the IWX show was still going on.
“Gage, this is amazing. You’re so romantic. I don’t deserve you.”
She kissed his cheek as he helped her sit at the prepared table. “I don’t deserve you. That’s why it’s been so important for me to make everything up to you.”
As the boat crew pulled from the dock, a waiter served them their dinner.
Gage poured them both wines, toasting her. “To our future, my love.”
They had a romantic dinner and when finished, Gage led her to the back of the boat. He wrapped his arms around her, kissing her neck gently. Looking over the Boston skyline, they stood in silence, enjoying each other. Isis led him to sit on the boat wrap-around-sofa and pulled his arms around her, letting out a breath of sudden peace. He felt it, too.
“Mmm. I love this. So peaceful. I love the stars, don’t you? I could look at them all night.” Isis started pointing out star constellations.
Gage got a text notification on his phone, and the boat started heading back to the dock. He looked at his gold Rolex watch, smiling. “I have a surprise for you tonight, baby. It’s going to blow your mind —”
He kissed her neck and rubbed over her thigh. “And your body.”
She looked back at him with a sexy smirk. “What are you up to?”
“Making your fantasies come true.”
Gage kissed her and slightly bit her lip. A groan escaped her like a lioness. He knew it took little to get her aroused. It was almost like she couldn’t get enough of him since the trip to Europe. Their sexual relationship became more passionate and caring. It was no longer just sex. It was love. Isis let him take the lead, and he felt more like a man than he had his entire life.
