Slade went to the door and Colt was standing there leaning against the door frame, swinging the cuff key around his finger. “What’s up, Jungle Dick?”
Slade rolled his eyes and heard Candy giggling behind him. “Jungle Dick?”
“Yep. Isis has shown every girl on the roster, and half the stage crew, the photo of your junk. You’re a legend, brother. They have dubbed you Jungle Dick. Sahara said it looks like an elephant trunk.” Colt sauntered past him into the hotel room. “So, Candy, can he work it, or is it all for a show? Just cause it’s big doesn’t mean it’s good.”
Candy shrugged, scrunching up her face. “I don’t know. We never got that far.”
He winked at Candy in the typical cocky Colt way. “Pity. I would make sure I took care of you every night.”
Slade grabbed Colt in a headlock and gave him a noogie. “What’d you say?”
Colt laughed as he tried to wriggle away. “Not my fault you’re neglecting the V. A lot of guys would be happy to take the job position. Candy’s hot. Damn it. Let me go!”
“Take it back!” He squeezed harder on his head.
Colt teased his friend, still trying to break free. “Nope. She’s sexy. If you don’t take care of it, I would be glad to get a taste of her candy.”
The guys wrestle around, forgetting about the handcuffs. As they toppled to the floor, Candy fell on top of Colt.
Grabbing her around the waist playfully, he teased, “See. She’s ready.” He looked over, realizing how close his best friend was to him, and Colt shoved him away. “Never mind. I’m not above a good threesome, but this is just creepy.”
Slade puckered his lips while reaching for his friend. “Come on, Colt. Give me a little smooch, big boy.”
“Gross.”
Slade got up, pulling Candy with him. “Stop flirting with my girl.”
“Tell her to stop being sexy. You two get dressed. We have work to do. We have a long flight to New York.” Colt uncuffed them.
“So, did you see Wraith’s sister while she was here? She’s your type. I think you would like her. I’ve known Holly for years.” Slade nudged him.
“No. She left before I got to see her. Cyrus says she’s a firebreather. That’s pretty cool. I hear she’s a real badass.”
Candy walked into the restroom. “She’s hot too. I can picture you with someone like her, Colt. She’s sassy. Besides, why don’t you date? You’re a catch.”
Slade rolled his eyes. “Don’t ask. He has a lifelong membership to the bitch of the month club. He doesn’t keep a woman long because he can’t pick a decent woman for shit.”
Colt flopped on the bed, resting his arms behind his head. “I’m just too hot for them to handle.”
Candy went into the restroom and yelled over the shower, running. “Too full of yourself too, maybe?”
Colt laughed tauntingly. “You want me. Don’t pretend.”
“About as much as having a stick rammed in my eye.”
Slade flopped down next to him. “Stop flirting with my girl.”
Colt looked to see if she shut the bathroom door. “The way I understand it, she’s not your girl.”
“We’re getting there. We’re trying to take it slow. She’s going through a lot, man.”
“So? Do you love this chick? I’ve never seen you like this. Ever since Candy came around, it’s like my best friend turned into a freaking Disney movie.”
“I think... no... I know. I do. I love her. I’m just not sure she feels the same way. Every time I bring up our relationship, she blows it off.”
Colt rubbed his head with an annoyed sigh. “She’s worried about everything that’s been going on. Being handcuffed for two weeks to someone you thought you hated must be confusing. On top of being stalked by a psycho.”
“You have no idea. It’s brought us closer, though. I hate to admit it, but Wraith’s punishment was the best thing that’s ever happened to me. She’s so great, Colt. I almost hate to get the cuffs off this weekend.”
Colt shook his head, thinking his friend had caught the love bug. “You have it bad, huh? You’re doomed, brother.”
“Well… yes… I guess so. You think I’m an idiot, don’t you?”
“I think women are trouble, but you are one of those hopeless romantic - prince charming types. I like my freedom.”
“Lier. If you found the right girl, you would fall hard. You just haven’t found the right one yet.”
Colt let out a sigh. “I don’t think I’ll ever find a Miss Right. I’ll settle for Miss Right Now. If I don’t get laid soon, I’m sure my junk is going to fall off.”
“Sex isn’t everything,” Slade said with a tick.
Colt looked over at him and pointed to the bathroom door where Candy had headed. “Lier.”
Slade threw a pillow over his face, laughing. “I’m in so much trouble.”
“Was your theory right? Does she taste like candy?” Colt rested back onto the bed, tossing the handcuff keys in the air.
Slade put his arms behind his head and looked at the ceiling with a smile. He suddenly had the most cheerful look in his eyes. “Like cupcakes and vanilla. She wears this flavored cupcake body spray and lotions that drive me wild.”
“You’re going to get fat off of eating pussy.” Colt laughed while hitting his friend in the face with a pillow.
Slade perked up and turned to make sure Candy wouldn’t hear. “Actually, she has this kink —”
Candy stepped out of the restroom. “Don’t say another word or you’re never getting near my cookie jar again.”
Slade jumped up and kissed her. “Yes, dear.”
“Good boy.”
Colt rolled his eyes. “That’s why I don’t need a woman. Slade, you’re whipped.”
Candy made a cracking whip sound, and they both laughed.
Kissing Candy’s nose, he said, “Still worth it.”
