Chapter 19 Society Standards
“Ah shit!” he cursed. The car suddenly stopped, and we were near the village.
“What happened?” I nervously asked; I held tight the grip of the seatbelt. I don't want danger, I'm silently praying he won't do bad things to me, and it’s my first time being with him.
“I’ll just check it,
I waited inside the car, and my phone battery died as much as I wanted to ask for help.
He came back and said, “Tire break. I can’t call someone right now.”
I looked at him with fear.
“Hey, I won’t do anything to you,” he laughs; he noticed how nervous I am
“I want to go home,'' I said in a low tone. I regretted being with Jake.
“You’re safe with me. Do you have a connector? I’ll charge my phone,” I shake my hands as I answer; I look outside, and there’s no one coming, even a car.
“We need to ask a help, and we’re far away from the village,” he said.
“I want to go home” I’m terrified. We’re just two at this place, and it’s dark. I feel safer with Ken; even though he’s always grumpy, I never feel scared whenever I am with him.
He laughs at me, “I’ll bring you home safely and whole. You’re overthinking. Rest assured, I won’t do anything bad to you” he tries to find something inside his car.
“You’re stupid; If I'm not mistaken, there’s a connector inside the car that can use to charge phones!” I whined. I saw Ken's car, that thing.
He looked at me unbelievably.
“Do you think I have that thing? My car is a late update,” he tried to open his open.
“I just walk; the village is just near from here,” I opened the door of his car, and he tried to stop me at my eagerness to go home safely and soundly.
I want Ken, right, I feel so scared, and I’m not safe.
“Hey, it's dangerous, and it’s still far,” he got outside and followed me.
“I promise I won’t do anything bad to you. Can’t you see I’m finding a way to ask for help” I walked faster; I was not comfortable, and I wanted to cry. He chased me and held my arm, but I struggled.
“Don't touch me!” he let go of me.
“I’ll go home alone! Don't follow me!” I ran, but he tried to stop me.
I wanted to go home, while I was running, I tried to open my phone. Minutes have passed. I see a car pass, which gives me hope but disappoints me.
Why do we need to feel unsafe walking on the road alone at night? We should be safe. A motorcycle passed by pointedly pointing a gun at my forehead, and I stepped backward.
“Give me your bag, miss, or I’ll kill you,” he said as I kept moving backward, but he was walking forward. The other man he’s with him is smirking at me.
“Don’t h-hurt me” I can’t see their faces; they’re wearing bonnets.
“Give me your bag now!” I gave them my bag because I’m too scared they’ll do bad things to me. As I gave my bag, I thought they would leave, but they stayed.
The other man looked at me from head to toe.
“Hmm. Nice body.”
“W-what do you w-what?” I asked and looked into my surroundings to ask for help, but I was in a dark place where villages were far away.
Why did Ken choose to live in this place? This place is not a safe road on the way out. You must pass a street with many trees on both sides of the road.
“Boy, let's go. Someone passed here, and we’re dead. I don't want to go to jail again” the one who took my bag pulled this man's shirt in front of me.
“Boy, let’s savor the moment,” he said devilishly, making it shivers.
I run, but they chase me.
“Help,” I asked for help and kept running as fast as possible, but they were chasing me.
“Boy, let's go!” the man stopped his friend, but they still chased me.
“Boy, give this woman to me. I like her.
“I hear their conversation, and they're just near me.

<Third Person>
“You are returning to your old habits again.” Nathan seriously said to Kier.
Kier did something again. He fought with someone in the street. Arm-to-arm combat, he shoots the man, and no one is there. Thanks, God. He's using his power as a policeman.
Nathan is with him, and they're on the way to Kier's house.
Nathan left his car in his home since he didn't want to waste his car gas. Gas is too expensive. He needs to save money.
They had a meeting, and he’s asking for his help. Kier, a friend of his, is incredible and resourceful; he’s a genius and everything he’s doing. He’s making things possible.
Kier did not answer him, and he was busy with his phone while driving. He’s been calling Shielyn for almost hours since he’s in the meeting.
“Lad, look at the road. I don't want to die yet,” Nathan said when he noticed what he was doing. His focus is almost on his phone.
“Had you seen or met my wife today? I can't contact her,” Kier’s eyebrow furrowed.
“I haven’t seen her,” Nathan replied, looking at his cell phone screen. He noticed Kier had been on his phone. He smirked; his demon friend found his match and was in love.
“Why don’t you track her?” Nathan suggested that he hold Kier's phone so he could drive smoothly. He tried to call her again, but she was not answering.
“Bruh! Maybe she’s sleeping right now and turned off her phone?” Nathan.
“I’m feeling something's not right,” Kier said, he’s been bothered, and he can’t focus on the meeting a while ago.
Kier steps on the gas deeper; he's in a hurry.
“Wait, slow down,” Nathan said; he saw a man on the road, and Kier slowed down. They are near the village.
Kier's eyebrow furrowed when he saw a familiar man and opened his car window.
“Mr. Saltzman?” The man got familiar with him, and Kier nodded at him as an answer to open the window and talk to the man.
Nathan opens the car window.
“Does your car break down?" Nathan asked.
“Uhh, yeah," he messes his hair.
"I had been here for almost half an hour, and you guys are the ones who passed here for almost half an hour. I'm with someone, but she left me," Jake touched his neck. He seemed in a dilemma- no, he had been thinking about the woman.
“Can you help me?” he asked.
Kier can't stand in his position now; he feels something is wrong.
“Nate, do you know how to track?” Kier asked his friend Nate.
Kier saw Jake in the meeting with his wife.
“Nope, bro asked Bryden,” he suggested.
Kier didn't mind Nathan's suggestion and asked the man.
"The woman you're within the meeting. Do you know where she is?" Kier can't help thinking, and he is worried.
The man thinks, "I am with Shiley… Do you mean to the woman I'm within the meaning? The shy type of woman?” Jake asked.
Kier nodded at him.
"I'm with her, but she walked and left me here. She thought I was going to do something to her. Wait, are you two related?"
Kier started the engine and hurriedly left Jake.
He would believe and follow his intuition right now.
It seems something is not correct.
“Hey, he's asking for our help. Why did you leave him there?." Nathan tried to call Shielyn.
“Ask Lucan to help him,” Kier commands, and Nate obeys.
Kier's eyebrow furrowed when he saw a woman running down the road while two men were chasing her. He slowed down and got near the.
Kier noticed.
“Fvck!” he stopped the car and got the. gun
“Oh shit! That's Shielyn, ah!” Nate said.
They are too fast to get out of the car, and he shoots the two men in the shoulder. The two men didn't bother to fight him and ran as fast as they could. Nathan, chase them.
Kier held his wife's arm, but she screamed and struggled with him. She's scared to death.
“Don't touch me!” Shielyn shouted and tried to get out of Ken’s hold. She's closing her eyes hard.
"Hey, it's me," He cupped her cheeks.
"I'm here," Kier murmured.
Shielyn slowly opened her eyes, and that's how tears started to run down her cheeks. She immediately hugs her husband.
"I'm s-scared," She cried and hugged him tightly.
"Shh. I'm here…" Kier's deep baritone voice, and he caresses her hair. His voice is so deep and soothing in her ears.
His warm hug gave her hope. She's safe now.
"D-don't cry… hush, now, baby…" he said. She just cried even more.
"I was r-really scared…" she told him.
They are in the middle of the road, under the moon, where everyone is asleep at this hour.
Her heart is at ease now.
"I know… hush now, baby."
"Shit!" She heard Nathan's voice.
"Are you okay, Selena?"
Is Nate here?
She releases her hugs to her husband, and she looks at Nathan. She's much safer now.
She hugs him to make him still. She cries on his shoulder, but Nathan's hand is in the air.
"Let's go.." Kier pulled her from him, and his voice became cold.
Nathan drove the car, and she and Kier were in the back seat.
"We'll talk," Kier whispered to her. They are silent on the whole ride, and no one dares to talk, and they are near the village.
When they got home, Nathan bid his goodbye and stormed the place using his car.
Kier guided her to the house and treated her wounds.
"Ouch!" She flinched. He blows her wounds.
"Why are you with that stick, man?" His eyebrow furrowed.
He stops treating her wounds.
"He i-invited me to dinner," Shielyn almost whispers.
