Chapter 43 Once Said
I look outside, and I don’t see anyone on the outside, the vast and tallest building I have seen in my whole life. The facilities are beautiful; they are not just straight but have different shapes. The architect of this company is the best architect I have admired.
“I have enough, so I will save it for myself,” I said.
What is this city called? This is beautiful, and every car I saw parked in the parking area was different too. The owner and people working here are wealthy.
“Wait, is that my brother?”
Layla pointed at the man wearing a dark blue coat, and there was a young woman beside him; they walked and entered a building shaped in the letter M.
“Hey, hey, stop. Stop the car,” Layla said to the driver.
When the driver stops the car, we get out. Layla, that building is secured.
“I think we can’t enter it so quickly,” I said while blocking her from entering the building.
“We are not sure if that’s Ken,” I told her.
She looks at me in disbelief.
“My cousin is about to cheat, yet you want a zoom and clear evidence. Don’t you know that back of my cousin? What kind of wife are you?”
I know it is Ken, but I do not want to conclude that easily.
“I know it’s him from his favorite color, dark blue coat.”
“See, you know it’s him. Don’t think twice, and let's go! We need to lecture that woman.!” She looks mad. I should be the one to get angry, tight?
“Layla, if Ken is cheating, we must deal it with him, not the woman. It’s his choice to cheat. Let’s not involve other people,” I don’t want to get my hand dirty from touching a lower-class woman.
“That woman seduced my cousin!” She concluded.
“Layla, wait!” I stop her when she walks so fast.
When we enter the building, we don’t see anyone, nor a guard, at the entrance of this city.
If that woman seduces my husband, it’s still my husband's choice if he wants to get drawn.
We saw many business people in the hallway, one of them being Nate. He is talking with them.
I guess they are wearing branded and expensive suits.
Layla looks like she is the wife.
“You need to lecture, my cousin!” Layla growled.
Nate saw me and stopped talking, “excuse me,” he said and came to us.
“Hey, how did you enter this city?” Nate asked us.
“Nate, glad you are here. Where is my cousin?!” Layla asked furiously. I held her in her arm.
Nate looks confused,” he is currently talking with the board members; why?”
I looked at him and noticed the men he was with had left him.
Business people are the busiest people on earth; they value time so much.
I should give Kier a watch so he will have time with me.
“Talking about the board member?! Don’t try to hide your best friend's affair; we saw him with a woman!”
“Huh, woman? Who?” He asks, confused.
“Ah, sorry. Layla is just hungry. That’s why she said crazy things,” I explain.
“What?!” Layla reacted.
Nate chuckles, “I see.” Just wait for him in his building. Go straight and ride the elevator; you will go to another company and the second floor, where his office is located,” he instructed.
“Wait, what about Jase? Where is he?”
“He is in his building, in front of this building, and you will see him around; he’s doing the marketing work,” Nate informed us.
Layla suddenly got calmed down and forgot about what she saw. She really forgot everything when it came to Jase.
“Okay, thank you!” Layla said and ran out of this company.
“Why are you here? How did you come? Did Kier give you a card?” Nate murmured to me.
I played with my finger. I tried to reach Nate's ear, but he leaned down for me, so it won't get hard on me, “Layla stole the card of Kyran.”
He nods slightly, “oh, that’s why his card is missing but don’t ever do that, okay?”
I nod on me.
“Do you need a card to enter this city?” I asked. I was out of curiosity. That card also looks essential, and the design looks like it’s a sound plan design.
“Did you see all of the buildings when you entered this city?” He asks me, and we start to walk.
“You can't easily enter this city if you don’t have that black card. This city is bought by a businessman, and this is private property. This city is where you find business people's investments and gold bars. You need that card for the whole place. It’s high-tech here. Theft can’t easily enter. We are guarded by skilled hackers and agents.”
We ride the elevator, as he told us earlier.
Even the elevator needs to swipe the card.
It can’t open easily like a standard elevator.
“What if the hackers suddenly turn back on this city and they stole money from you? Like the gold bars,” I said.
“There is an organization; I can’t explain it to you because we might finish after one year from telling everything. They can't turn back their loyalty that easily. Most people here know each other and are friends by friends,” he explains.
I shrug my shoulders; I don't understand what he is talking about. It’s like a more profound meaning and story. I might have a headache if I tried to understand.
“So, what’s the name of this city?” I ask.
“Hhmm. KKK or K only. It means. Kalayaan, Kapayapaan, and Katarungan.”
“Huh?!” What are that words? His accent became different from the kind of language and how he spoke every word.
“It’s a different language, not greek, Spanish, or French; the words are for you to find out. I won’t tell it to you,” he said.
Psh! I will just google it and see what those words are.
“I know the mean one of those K,” I said confidently. K means Kier, and the other K is Kyran.” I said.
“It can be,” he said while laughing.
“Hey, handsome Spanish man.”
A gorgeous woman suddenly appeared, and he greeted Nate.
I clenched my fist when he was with my husband. They are the ones we saw at the entrance of this building.
“Hey, Mrs. Lu.” Nate greeted her. I look at her from head to toe; she is wearing a v-cut red dress and 7inchess high heels. She looks stunning as a young woman. Her lips are so red. Did she hit her mouth in the door? It‘s so red.
“Oh, Hi,” she greeted me too.
“Your new business partner?” She is referring to me.
“No, my wife,” Kier pulls me to him and snakes his hand on my waist possessively. His eyebrow creased. What’s with him?
Why is he with this woman?
“Ah, you are a married man?” She looks shocked, “You didn’t send an invitation Mr. Saltzman.”
I do not belong to this place; everyone is a businessman and wears corporate attire.
Ring.
“Oh, I really didn’t notice it,” she laughs.
“By the way. Can I talk to you, Mr. Mendoza?” She looks at Nate.
“Sure, let’s go to my company.”
They bid their goodbyes on us, and Kie pulls me into his office.
“Why you didn’t tell me that you were coming? And what’s with that, Nate?” Kier sits in his swivel chair, but I push him, and I’m the one who sits on it. I lean my back, and it’s so comfortable.
I roamed.
“And how did you know this city?” He raises his eyebrow at me, and he sits on the sofa.
Color white, huh. He likes the color white. Same color as his office in the house. Maybe in his company too, I haven’t seen his office in his company.
“What’s with that woman?” I copied his tone.
His office is minimalist except for the folder on his table and many folders.
“She is a board member.” He explains shortly.
“Then, brother Nate is your friend,” I explain shortly.
“Stop copying me,” he rolled his eyes.
I mimicked him, “stop copying me.”
I opened one of the folders and acted like a boss and busy. I opened his Laptop too.
“How did you come here?”
I read inside the folders, and I don’t understand anything. It’s an agreement contract, I guess.
“Using your money and the plane.”
I don’t know what he is doing. I am not looking at him.
“You can’t come here that easily,” there’s a suspicion in his voice.
“Why? You don’t want me to be here? Because you are with that woman?” I asked as I glared at Kier.
“Who are you with?”
I shrug.
“Damn!” I heard him curse.
I followed the woman's gaze, ending with his arm snaking on my waist.
‘Why don't you wear a marriage ring?” I asked.
“Maybe, you just didn’t notice it,” Kier said, and his arm moved into my shoulder. I look at it, and he is wearing our wedding.
“If you don’t have anything to say, you can leave the hell of my office,” I said like a boss.
“Okay, I’ll just go to Ms. Lu's office.”
I looked at him and got up from the swivel chair.
“Hey! Hey!” I glared at him. I blocked his way using my two arms, but I put it down immediately.
“Okay, you can go now. I’ll call brother Nate to come over to accompany me.”
I was about to sit in the swivel chair when he pulled me and sat me on his lap. That fast.
“You really want me to get mad, huh,” he knocked on my forehead again.
“How did you get here. If you didn’t seriously tell me, I would make sure you can’t walk, baby.”
Is he going to cut my legs? He is bad. He doesn't have mercy on me. My feet are just short, and he is going to miss them.
“I will tie you! Just don’t cut my legs!” He looks amused.
“Tell me now,” he demanded.
