Chapter 70
“Damn, what happened?” Enzo asked in a lower voice.
Kienzo is walking back and forth while his wife is fighting for her life in the emergency room.
“My w-wife…” Kienzo didn’t finish his sentence, and he cried.
“Brother…” for the first in two years, Kienzo called him brother.
Enzo hugged his twin, and Kienzo cried harder on his twin's shoulder; this was the first time he saw Enzo's twin being miserable and vulnerable.
Enzo's first time was seeing Kienzo crying like this. He is in a vulnerable state.
“We had a c-child.” Kienzo has a hard time speaking; he tried in between his sobs.
“We are supposed to have a child,” Kienzo cried again.
“My unborn child didn’t m-make it.”
“Kienzo Vladimir, calm the fuck down!” Enzo doesn’t know how to calm his twin.
Enzo had been in Dria’s parent's house; he was precisely in front of the gate o that house when his twin called him saying he was in the hospital.
“M-Manong Rodger… and her friend… d-dint make it… brother, my wife,” he said weakly, and he was in fear.
“My w-wife,” Kienzo repeated.
Damn! He can't bear to lose Kiki’s wife a second time; this situation scared Kienzo; we are talking about his wife's life. He doesn’t know what he will do if he loses his wife. He loses their unborn, and now what? Is he going to lose his wife again? He hopes they kill him too.
“Had you called our parents?” Enzo Feels sorry for his twin.
“Brother Enzo, I can’t bear to lose my wife again, b-brother…. Please s-save C-claire.”
Kiki keeps on begging.
Dead in arrival is in Manong Rodger while Bolat still keeps on fighting, but he suddenly loses his breath too.
Ghad! Why are they doing this to Kiki? Why are they torturing him? What did he do wrong in his past life, and did they torture him like this? Why it’s always his Wife?!
“My god. Son, what happened?” His mother came to him and hugged him while crying too. She wore full of pearls today.
“Vladimir, what happened?” His dad asked him worriedly.
Chandria is here together with her parents.
Enzo and Chandria look into each other's eyes.
Chandria wants to apologize to Enzo because she made him mad; she awakened his words earlier. She doesn’t want to be a killer. She realized that their unborn child was innocent. She doesn’t want to kill an innocent child and will regret it for the rest of her life.
Enzo is looking at her coldly.
Chandria doesn’t mind what’s happening in her surroundings because she only focuses on Enzo while Enzo is talking to his parents and calming his twin.
She had been too much being stupid to Keran, and even if the child died, Keran won’t still love her and accept her. Maybe it’s time to give up the fight she only wants and the one who keeps fighting.
Sometimes it’s better to let go than to fight.
Maybe she’s going to be happy in Enzo’s arm; why she doesn’t give it a try? He seems a kind and gentle man.
She wants to say sorry, but she doesn’t have confidence, and she’s scared that Enzo might snob her. What if Enzo doesn’t want to talk to her?
She touches her lower abdomen when she feels pain.
She’s not to use it when someone is mad at her.
“My god! Ara, you are bleeding!” Her mom told her, and her knees weakened.
“Call a doctor!” She heard her dad shout.
No, she regrets what she did and said a while ago; Chandria hopes she won’t experience a miscarriage.
Chandria looks at Enzo, and he is stunned and not moving.
“Jsq! What’s happening!” Mama bear commented.
“Damn it! Enzo Vladimir, what are you doing?! Call a doctor!” Papa bears pinch Enzo.
Before he left, Kyle had already called a nurse, and they carried her in a wheelchair.
Chandria slowly loses consciousness.
– -
I WOKE in a hospital room, and someone was caressing my hand. I looked at it, and it was Enzo.
“Hey, how are you?” He asked tiredly and seemed worried about my condition.
“How’s my baby?” She asked and placed her hand on her tummy.
Enzo smiled slightly at me; it didn’t reach her ears.
“She’s okay.”
I breathe.
“It’s past lunch. You must be hungry and the baby.”
And he prepared food for me.
I looked at him while he was preparing lunch for me, and I saw a bunch of fruits on the table.
Enzo looks tired and worn out.
“How’s sister Claire,” I asked.
They are older than me.
I am Twenty-four, while Keran is in his twenty-seven.
“She’s awake.” He answered shortly.
I saw the food, and I covered my mouth.
I don’t like veggies; I don’t like carrots and cabbage.
He put the spoon in his mouth with those veggies, and I shook my head at him. I even move away my head.
Does he eat?
“I don’t like that,” I whined.
“You need to eat veggies and fruits. You can’t be stressed. Stop stressing yourself.”
He is too severe.
Is he still mad at me?
But why is he mad his voice is still gentle and sift?
“I want carbonara, coffee, steak, and fried chicken.”
“Dria, those are not healthy.” He said softly.
I shook my head and looked down.
“C’mon, eat this. You need nutrients.”
He put the spoon in front of me again, and I moved my head away again.
He sighed, “Dria.” He warned me.
I look at him, almost crying.
“I won’t eat.”
I am getting scared of him.
There’s part of me that wants to continue the wedding.
I look at him, begging.
We stared at each other, and he was the one who gave up. He heaved a sigh and called someone.
“Here, happy?” He asked me after he ended the call. He commands his secretary to the foods that I want.
I pouted a little bit.
“You are hard-headed.” I heard him.
“Do you mean it? Are you going to cancel the wedding?” I asked Out of a sudden.
He just looked at me.
“From this day, you should live in my house. Your parents have already transferred your things to my house.”
What does it mean? Why did he not answer my question?
It took too long before the food arrived, and he took care of me; we were not talking.
We are watching TV while he’s using his phone besides. He didn’t leave my side.
.
I tried to look at what he was doing on his phone but couldn’t see because it was in lower brightness.
He is chatting with a woman! Hmmph! Womanizer!
I looked at him and tried to look at Enzo’s phone screen to read what he and the woman were talking about.
“What?” He asked when he caught me looking at it.
How am I going to say it?
Chandria POV
“How are you feeling?” Enzo asked me worriedly.
“I want to sleep.” I yawn.
“Are you not comfortable?”
Why is he so gentle? He speaks too softly.
“C-can you lay beside m-me?” I asked shyly.
.
“The baby wants you.” I reason; I don’t know where I get those words.
I didn’t hear anything from him, and he lay beside me.
“Here,” he offers his arm so I can lay my head on it, and I grab the opportunity.
I smell him.
He smelled like sandalwood and fresh mint.
I fell asleep.
It’s already 4 pm when he wakes me up. We are going home.
I asked about brother Kienzo. He is with his parents looking after Claire.
They told me that I needed to go home and rest better.
“Your house is too huge and wide,” I commented when we entered his house and saw inside.
We came home late at night because it was a long journey. His house is far from the hospital.
“By the way, your things are already in my room. They transfer them because the other rooms here are locked, and I can't find the keys.” He informed me.
“You can go there so that you can rest. I’ll just need to talk to someone.”
He instructed me where I could find his room.
He had been busy with his phone.
I took a bath before going to bed and waited almost fifteen minutes. He entered and had already changed his clothes; he smelled after a bath.
Where did he take a bath?
“Here, drink this.” He gave me a glass of milk and some vitamins.
We had already had dinner, and we almost fought again.
“I want cherry and red velvet cake.”
“Dria, we just eat dinner.” He said, tired. His under-eye is dark, a sign of the lock of sleep.
“But I want hungry.”
I want to taste a cherry.
“I’ll buy you a salad and fruit drinks.”
“Veggies again.”
I don’t like the veggies that he wants me to eat.
“I already give in to your carbonara, ramen, chocolate, and coffee.”
“But there’s no coffee awhile ago. I ate those veggies even though they are not yummy.” I complain.
“But you didn't finish it. You ate a little.”
I think about what to reply to him, but I don’t know what to say.
“Err, because I don’t like it.” I reason.
“Dria, stop eating those unhealthy foods. If you born that child, you can eat whatever you want.” He said strictly and finality.
Why is he grumpy?
If he is not grumpy with me, he is shouting at me.
I lay and turned my back on him.
Damn it!
“Dria,” he warned me.
I close my eyes. I don’t want to talk to Enzo.
“C’mon, stop crying if it might affect the baby.” He said softly, and I felt him wipe my tears. I didn’t think that he lay beside me.
He is only concerned for the unborn; how about me? Am I carrying the lawyer child?
“You know what, you don’t want the child. You don’t love her.” I cried. I don’t know why I am being emotional.
“If you don’t want me to buy them, I will buy them myself, and I don’t need you. I can raise my child.” I said calmly.
He keeps on wiping my tears. I don’t know why I am crying over this matter; I shouldn’t be crying.
“It's not that I don’t want you to buy those for you. The baby needs nutrients, and you should eat nutritious foods.” He made me understand.
I push him and cover myself in a blanket.
“Dria, please let’s not fight over this.” He pleads.
I am not fighting with him. He was the one to want to have.
He forced me to talk to him, but he didn’t win.
And then now, he is not forcing me anymore?
I felt his stand and left the room.
Where is he going?
Maybe in his mistress?
Maybe the one he was talking to over the phone.
To that woman, he was chatting awhile ago?
It took him hundred years before he came back. I am still awake and waiting for him.
“Are you still awake?” I heard him, and he walked near me.
I smell something.
“I know you’re still awake. Here is what you requested.” He said and removed the blanket from my body.
There’s no sense in acting like I am sleeping; he caught me.
I looked at him, and he sighed and gently wiped my tears.
“Here.” He gave me the red velvet cake that was in the food box.
