Nathalie
I'am so shocked when I opened the gift! The dedication is, it's coming from my Dad so I open it without knowing what's inside. And it's a dead rat!
Who could have it be?
Why they're doing it to me?
As far as I know, I didn't have an enemy. Except for Katrina? But it's a pity game! Knowing her personality, a spoiled brat one. She could be the suspect!
I don't know. My head is aching on what happened. Why there are goons and armed people at our company.
And the worst part, Why do they want me? Am I that important?
Ugh! My head is aching.
The door opens and Lance comes running at me.
"Love, what happened? Are you okay?" He asked.
"I'm fine but I'm not fine with what is happening right now!" I shouted because I felt irritated.
"Shhhh. It's okay my Love. I'm here, don't worry and everything will be fine." Lance hug me for assurance that he will always be there. But how long? What if...
Then my question was answered when Aunt Carol open the door.
"Nathalie, Andrew, and the kids arrive surprisingly and they are outside. I didn't let them in as I wanted to check if you're okay now. And... Mr. Vergara, could you please go home?" Aunt Carol's voice seems sarcastic and Lance's face turns sour.
"What do you mean?" Lance asked seriously.
"Hopefully you heard me that Nathalie's family arrive, and it's not appropriate for you to stay in here." She answers without looking at Lance.
What is happening to her? She seems like a different person? Aunt Carol is very kind and respectful. Who is this? But she's Aunt Carol. I'm confused...
"I'm sorry Aunt Carol, I will not walk away. I want to meet her twins!" Lance answered sarcastically.
Oh! My head will be about to break. What is happening in my surroundings!
"Can you two, stop it? Aunt Carol, let them in. Lance is my visitor and there's nothing wrong with that." I said calmly. I felt tired and I don't want to stress out my mind and body.
"Okay, as you wish." She answered with her sarcastic face.
Just what happened to her?
She went out and when she came back. My lovely twins come running at me.
"Mommy!" Kevin shouted and hug me.
Ah, my sweet lover boy.
"Baby Kevin! Kiss Mommy. " I give him my right face and he kisses me. He's very sweet.
Kenneth is always Kenneth. He is just standing at the side looking intensely at Lance.
"Oh, what about you little boy? Go kiss your Mommy." Lance said smiling.
And Kenneth gives him, What the "F" look.
I wanted to laugh but saw Andrew enter the room.
I suddenly felt awkward. Lance saw him and the way he looks is not good. He's jealous!
"Wifey, are you okay?" Andrew hug me tightly and I saw Lance's hand form into a fist.
I guess Aunt Carol is right...
"I'm okay, I'm just stressed from work. Don't worry." I answer awkwardly smiling at Andrew while looking at Lance's jealous face gritting his teeth. I cannot tell Andrew that there's a goon in my company. It's just my instinct telling me not to tell him. And I don't know why.
"Hey! You better go home. Who are you?" Kenneth asks Lance suspiciously.
For the first time, Kenneth speak that long!
"Huh! Me? I'am your Mom's partner at work." Lance answered him amusingly.
I can see a spark in his eyes. He likes Kenneth.
"Oh, I didn't notice that we have a visitor in here. Nice meeting you, I'am Andrew Laurent. Nathalie's Husband." Andrew presses the word "Husband" and Lance notices it which makes him angrier. I know that he's just controlling his emotions. Any minute now, he will explode if he can't control his temper. But I know that he's trying his best.
I'm sorry Lance...
Lance accepted Andrew's hand for shaking while faking a smile. And it's awkward on my part! I entered the world of fire that is hard to escape. So, I must face the consequences!
"Nice meeting you. I'am Lance Vergara, Nathalie's Business Partner!" Lance presses the word "Partner" too.
And I can feel that there's an invisible force between the two.
They are smiling but I can see anger in each other's eyes.
Or it's just me?
The door opens and here comes the antagonist of my life. She's none other than, Andrew's cousin. Samantha!
"Andrew, why do you leave me at the airport cousin!" She shouted not minding all the people around her. No manners at all! But Andrew said she's like a sister to him.
So I'am tolerating whatever manners she showed me. And it's all bad! Ever since I met her.
She's a pain in my head!
"Tita Sam, You're here too? Don't you want to go home on your own home?" Kevin chimed in. Furrowing his brows. He didn't like Samantha too. But he's a sweet little angel.
Samantha smiles awkwardly.
"Of course Baby Kev... We only have the same home." She answers smiling while looking at me.
"Oh, sister Nathalie. What happened to you? You should always be careful." Then she hugs me. She's a fake and I know Lance notices it too.
"I'm okay, thanks for your concern," I answered sweetly.
I know how to fake my smile too.
"Wifey, we bring foods that you like. Let's eat." Andrew said showing me a box of food.
"Oh! I'm hungry cousin. I want to eat too." She's pretending all the time. And I hate to see it.
But what else can I do? She's been part of this so-called family since Andrew and I get married.
I suddenly not wanted to eat. Looked at her hands on my food.
"It's okay Andrew. I'am not hungry, just let her eat and be full." I said while looking at her disgustingly.
I cannot fake that I'm disgusted. She didn't use a spoon on the shrimp. She eats it with her hands sitting at the table without caring for everyone.
"Nathalie, I'll go buy you dinner. Wait for me." Lance said trying to be calm.
"Wait! Don't bother Mr. Vergara. I can buy my wife's food. " Andrew told him.
And I can smell chaos!
"You? Why do you let others eat her foods?" Lance asked angrily.
Uh oh!
"It's okay Lance. I'm not hungry. Andrew, it's okay." I assured them.
"Tita Sam is always bad! Give me that food. It's for Mommy." Kevin shouted and take back the plate of shrimp.
" What a bad baby! Give me that." Samantha shouted. And I don't like what I heard.
I'm about to speak when Lance defended Kevin. And it touches my heart!
"Whoa! You crazy girl. He is just a baby. Don't shout at him." Lance told her angrily.
"And who are you? I guess you not needed in here!" Samantha rolled her eyes at Lance.
Ah, My head is aching at them!
"Baby boy, give me that plate and I'll buy you ice cream, what about that?" Lance asked Kevin smiling.
"Sure, promise me?" Kevin asked making him swear with his little pinky.
"Of course!" Lance accepted the pinky swear.
"Here, glutton girl, Eat all of that shrimps!" Lance put it back on the table and Samantha just looks at him angrily.
"No thanks. It's dirty now! You can eat it if you want." Samantha is always a walking disaster and I don't know why Andrew always favored her.
And I'am always silent every time it will happen. If she will not hurt my kids. I won't mind her but now that she's raising her voice I can't tolerate it at all!
"I guess you should go home, Samantha. I want to spend some time with my kids." I told her coldly.
" What do you say?" She asked angrily.
And I don't care!
"Stop it Sam! Let's go home and arrange your luggage in there." Andrew shouted.
That's good. But they will stay at our house and I don't like it! She's always there wherever we are.
"Sounds good! I'm tired and wanted to sleep. Let's go, cousin!" She shouted and drag Andrew outside the door.
"I'll be back wifey," Andrew said before closing the door. And I just nod my head.
"Tsk! This is crazy. He's favoring his cousin more than his wife! What kind of husband is that?" Lance is short-tempered. He cannot hold his feelings that long.
And I like him for that. Treating me as the center and apple of his life.
But there's no future for us...
"Lance, can you lower your voice and control yourself?" I asked tiredly.
Then he looks at the twins who are looking at him too. Then he calms down.
"I'm waiting for your promise Uncle Lance," Kevin said twinkling his eyes. He's trying to be cute without knowing that he is already cute.
"Come here baby," I called him.
He sits down on my lap and I hug him. I miss my babies! Kenneth doesn't like to be hugged so I just let him be whatever he likes.
"Baby, Mr. Vergara is busy okay. Wait for your grandpa or Aunt Carol." I told him while playing on his hair.
Kevin is so sweet while Kenneth won't be allowed anyone to touch his hair.
"It's okay Lo- Nathalie. We will buy ice cream outside and food for you. " He said while laughing. His mouth slide a little bit. And I understand him. He always called me Love.
"Kevin, let's go!" Lance happily said then he carry him.
"You can't! What about me?" Kenneth asked.
"Oh, you want to join too? Then let's go!" Lance holds Kevin a d Kenneth with her both hands. Him, being at the center.
I happily look at them going out the door.
It's the best scenario of all!
