Chapter 35
Third Person POV
Lance waited for his useless men to wake up and it took it long! He's wondering how many pills did they take to sleep like an idiot sleeping beauty!
Minutes had passed but they are still sleeping. And another minute until they wake up. The men are still sleepy when they see Lance's angry face looking at them.
They stand up immediately and didn't move at all like steel.
"At last, After how many years! You all finally wake up! What is happening here? Why are you all sleeping? Where are the other men? It's been quiet in here since I arrived." He said angrily but manage to control his voice. Afraid for Katrina to hear what they are talking about.
"Boss, we still didn't know. We fall asleep the moment Kevin gave us a snack." The leader answered.
Lance's brows furrowed at what he has heard. How come an innocent sweet little boy Kevin sedated them?
"Are you joking? Kevin is a baby boy for goodness sake! Are there any other excuses can you say?" Lance asked in disbelief when he heard running footsteps and the voices of Kevin and Kenneth appeared.
"Uncle Lance!" Kevin shouted while running towards him.
"Careful baby boy." He happily said while his arms are waiting for him to hug this cute little angel.
Andrew's facial expression becomes dim while watching the twins getting closer to Lance. He immediately went up to his room without saying anything.
Little did he know that Kenneth is at his back watching every move of him. Kenneth is not saying anything but he is carefully watching and observing. His gut feeling and instinct will never be wrong.
He can sense that something is off in this house. In their family to be exact! And that is his mission to know what it is about.
When Lance suddenly caught his gaze. And it hits him! That it was Kenneth who put his men to sleep. That genius boy surprises him!
"Kenneth, come here." He called him waving his hand.
Kenneth smiled and shake his hands with Lance.
The way he maturely greeted us. And Lance is amazed and proud of this little detective in here.
"Hello, Uncle Lance." Kenneth greeted him while shaking their hands.
"So, are you two free now?" Lance asked excitedly.
"Yes, we are!" Kevin shouted happily while Kenneth just shake his head.
"Then, it's burger time!" Lance excitedly said like a little boy. And his men around him are controlling themselves not to laugh.
If they think that Lance didn't notice them. Well, they are wrong. Lance's sixth sense is like a wolf. He can hear even the tiniest sound of your fart!
"Men, why are you still here? Don't you have job to do or do you want to resign?" He asked seriously that all the men immediately went away and leave them.
Kenneth smirked seeing them funnily run away. While Kevin is just looking at them innocently.
"Yehey! Let's go, Uncle Lance. We will eat a burger and fries. And ice cream too. Yehey!" Kevin is happily jumping.
"Sure kiddos. Let's wait for your Mommy okay." Lance wanted to bring Nathalie with them.
When Black Hawk and Aunt Clara arrive.
"Lance, you're here?" Anton asked surprised.
"Yeah, because you texted me to be here," Lance answered lazily.
Anton felt shocked. He didn't even know that he will be coming! And he didn't text his Boss.
"What's going on in here? I didn't text you!" Anton said in surprise.
Lance caught Kenneth's eyes. And he knew it!
"Nah! Don't bother. Maybe you forgot that you texted me. You're getting old Anton haha." Lance said laughing.
And Anton felt awkward seeing him laugh like that. At their secret hideout, when Lance laughs. It means that someone will die. But here in the outside world. His Boss looks innocent and normal.
"I will go get Mommy." Kevin run inside the house.
"Careful Kevin. You will bring the twins?" Anton asked him.
"Yeah, I owe them Burger and Fries," Lance answered happily.
Anton is happy looking at him acting like a child. Or a Daddy for the twins? He knows that Andrew is very angry at the moment. He can see jealousy in his eyes!
But what can he do? Lance is his Boss. It's so hard to discipline him at his own house! And the twins like him so much.
"Okay, we better go inside and I will check the bodyguards," Anton said.
But the truth is, He will check the abandoned house.
Lance just nods his head while Kenneth is silently observing them.
He just smirks with this little detective by his side. Now he knew that Kenneth is not an ordinary kid.
He is like him? Lance asked himself.
Yes, Lance is a genius kid too when he is 6 years old like Kenneth and Kevin.
He knew everything! From the music instruments and many other sports that he joined when he is young.
He didn't tell his parents that he is a genius kid. He didn't want some exposure. He hated cameras and being featured on television.
He just wanted to live a simple life. Although it's boring listening to those lessons that are easy for him to answer he needs to pretend according to his age. If he wants his freedom.
Nathalie and Kevin arrived.
"What is the meaning of this? I mean, you will bring me with you guys?" Nathalie asked confused.
"Of course, they need their Mommy hehe," Lance answered smiling.
Nathalie just shook her head. She didn't know if Andrew will let her go with them.
"Okay, I will tell Andrew if he will say yes." She said but Kenneth hold her hand.
"No Mommy. We are your kids and we need you. We don't care if Daddy will allow you or not. We like you to go with us." Kenneth said seriously.
Nathalie was taken aback. Is this Kenneth? He's like a grown-up man already! He's very serious while looking at her.
What can she do? Well, to accept the offer. She loves the twin and she will do whatever they like.
"Okay, baby. Let's go!" She happily said then grab the twins' hand.
Lance's heart is very happy and overwhelmed. He didn't know why but his heart is telling him to protect them. They are his greatest treasure as long as he is still alive.
They look back and smile at him.
"Uncle Lance, Let's go!" Kevin said smiling at him.
"Yeah, why are you still there?" Kenneth asked feeling bored.
"They are right, Mr. Lance Vergara. Let's go!" Nathalie said happily.
Lance smiled at them. He cannot hide the feeling of happiness that he is feeling right at this very moment.
It's like he's floating in the clouds. A feeling of genuine happiness.
Meanwhile at the abandoned house...
"What is happening in here?" Black Hawk asked his men.
"The enemy vanished in thin air and there is no trace of them left." His trusted person answered.
He looked around. And it's very clean! The dead bodies are gone and they are nowhere to be found. In just a blink of an eye. The enemy escaped! How could he tell this to Lance? He's sure that he will be very angry with this bad news. The enemy is playing with them.
Their main card is they already knew the leader of the Golden Tiger. And they already knew about him too.
The fact that they infiltrate his house is not good at all. His family's safety is in danger. Lance is right, How can he sleep and didn't notice it all? The enemy is lurking in his lair without him knowing! The kids are not safe in here anymore but the enemies are gone.
Even if he will move to another house. He will surely be followed. There's always a spy and a traitor everywhere. But the question is who are they?
"Let's go, but leave some men in here. In case the enemies will come back." He commanded.
They leave the abandoned house and went back inside the Mansion. His wife is not in their room.
Where is Carol? He asked himself. And he see shadows passing by then his question was answered.
"I make coffee for you." She said smiling.
But his instinct is telling him that there's something off about his wife.
Is she an impostor again? But she's not! She's the real Carol.
What is happening here?
He drinks the coffee and alerts his senses that he is finally able to smell a different kind of aroma.
The sedatives are in his coffee!
He had no choice but to drink the coffee and pretend as if nothing happened.
"Thank you. For always caring for me." He said bitterly with a double meaning but Carol didn't get what he truly mean.
"I'm your wife and I love you. I have to take care of you. Come on let's sleep." She answered smiling while guiding Black Hawk to the bed.
She smiled secretly that her mission is successful again. Black Lion will surely reward her.
Anton immediately felt the numbness of his body and he felt sleepy. The pill is very strong that within a minute it takes effect!
"Can you get some snacks for me? I will overtime for tonight, there are so many works to do." He said pretending to be okay.
"Sure, just wait for me. I will get it." Carol immediately went out the door.
Black Hawk is very sleepy that he can't text anymore. He sends a voice message instead to Lance.
"Danger!" Before he closes his eyes. He manages to send the message and hide his phone in his pocket.
Now it's up to Lance.
He can't help him this time!
