CHAPTER 12: A VISITOR FROM THE PAST
GINA'S POV
I was at home all alone and bored. Lance had some work to do at 'The Restaurant' so he made me breakfast and lunch before leaving. It was 11 am and I had already eaten breakfast which consisted of fried plantains, yam, sweet potato and egg sauce downed with some orange juice.
It was a tasty meal and I must say Lance is such a good cook.
The boredom was eating at me so I decided to do some snooping around in Lance's room. Couldn't find anything interesting enough.
I opened the Master's bedroom and had a good look around.
'This must be where his parents stayed' I said to myself.
I saw a picture frame and it showed a happy family of four. I could see Lance's face in the picture he appeared to be 12 years old in it. There was a young girl by his left probably his sister. And behind them, were their parents. Lance looked a lot like his father and his sister looked a lot like the mom.
He had such a wonderful looking family but sadly I didn't know much about them.
Heck, I didn't even know much about Lance's past or history.
All Mr Freddy told me was that he (Lance) was an orphan and needed help.
Looking at the picture again I could swear I've seen his parents somewhere before but I couldn't place it. His mom looked very familiar almost like I knew her but I just didn't want to stress out my mind.
I continued my search around the room when I came across a small box that probably belonged to a lady. I was about to open it when I heard a knock on the door. I dropped the box and rushed down quickly to answer the door.
When I opened the door, I couldn't believe who I saw.
LANCE'S POV
"Is this seat taken?" she asked.
I had been at the restaurant for almost 3 hours working out some stuff and decided to have a break, when she approached my table I decided to ignore her but she sat down anyway.
"It's OK, I deserved that," she said smiling softly.
Looking at her she had lost a little weight and was looking radiant. I admitted that she increased in beauty over the past months. Nevertheless, her presence alone irritated me.
"What do you want?" I asked disdainfully
"Now sweetie, that's no way to talk to your mother" she replied, "Especially as we haven't seen each other in months"
"Where were you during father's funeral and will reading?" I asked
"During his funeral, I was out of the country and I didn't bother coming for his will reading," she paused then added "I knew there was nothing I would receive from it"
"I thought that as a mother, you would have been there to support me emotionally and otherwise but that's the excuse you give?"
"It's not an excuse. Besides, I had already divorced him"
"Why? What did he do wrong? Was it because of me?" I asked I could practically feel the emotions welling up in me
"Sweetie it wasn't because of you, I just didn't love your father anymore"
"But he loved you"
"I know but love is a two-way traffic system. It's not enough if only one of us is giving and the other isn't willing to receive it"
"Was my love not enough? Wasn't I enough?"
She wiped off the tears that had already started strolling down my face
"You were and always will be, but I had already moved on. If I knew your father was going to die I would have taken you"
"It's too late for that now," I said then asked, "what would you like to eat?"
She smiled and placed her orders and I also ordered. In no time at all, the waiter served us our meal.
We ate in silence for a while before she broke the silence, "Are you sexually active?"
I nearly choked and I quickly drank some water before asking, "What did you say?"
"Are you sexually active?" she asked again
"Why did you ask?"
"You behave too mature for someone who is just 15 years old."
"I'll be 16 by December"
"By December next year. Doesn't matter, besides it's OK. I know you're sexually active"
"How did you know?"
"I didn't but thanks for telling me," she said with a smile.
God, how could I be so stupid?
"Do I know her?" she asked
"No, I don't think so"
"Oh OK." she handed me something in a small plastic bag. Before standing up she thanked me for the meal and gave me a peck on the cheek.
When she left, I had a little talk with Tiffany. She followed me back as her shift was over and I had already invited her to my place for dinner. It was nice to see my mom after all these months. We entered public transport and I decided to open up the plastic bag and in it was a beautiful picture of my sister. The tears began to flow freely.
GINA'S POV
It wasn't possible. There was no way it could be her. If it was her, she wouldn't have looked the same.
"Hello there," she said, "Is Lance at home? "
"N-No, he isn't " I replied then added, "Do I know you?"
"Oh I'm sorry, my name is Vivian," she said "Lance is like a partner of mine"
"I'm Gina George, Lance's maid"
"Well nice to meet you, Gina. Tell Lance I said hi"
She turned to leave.
"Wait!!" I shouted stopping her in her tracks, "Have we met before?"
She turned around slowly and by the time her eyes met mine, I could feel the same dark energy emanating from her. She smiled and said, "I don't think we have"
I tried to argue but within a blink of an eye, she was just an inch away from me with a hand over my mouth.
"We haven't met before, OK?" she said quite menacingly.
I nodded in fear.
"I didn't mean to scare you," she said, "May I come in?"
I nodded again and she let go of my mouth. I led her into the living room and she forced me to sit on the couch with her. She ran her fingers through my hair.
"It's quite short isn't it?" she asked.
I didn't reply as her hands were soothing. I closed my eyes and leaned into her arms. She planted a kiss on my lips.
I kissed her back. I wasn't bisexual but she had this kind of energy that drew me to her. We kissed passionately for some time but didn't cross the line although I was feeling tempted to. After some time she let go of me.
"I must be on my way," she said
I let out a disappointed sigh.
"Don't worry, we'll meet again sooner than you think?" she said with a smile.
I walked her out.
Time passed and it was almost 6 pm and Lance wasn't yet back so I decided to make dinner.
I made some rice and chicken stew.
When I was done, was some minutes past 8 and I was worried. Lance never stayed out this late. I was about to call him when the front door opened and he walked in with a girl.
"Hey GG! I brought home a visitor" he said
The girl smiled at me and I smiled back though I didn't feel it. She looked cute, too cute. She didn't have big boobs like me but had a nice round ass.
We had dinner together and she laughed at Lance's jokes and also made him laugh.
It wasn't even that funny to stop breathing close to him.
I cringed every time their hands touched but tried my best not to show it.
After dinner, we said our goodbyes and she left.
Lance had a shower and went to his room. I was upset about him ignoring me all day and bringing another girl to our house. I know we weren't dating or anything but I felt cheated.
I laid on the bed and brought out the box I collected from his parents' room earlier today. I opened it and in it was a picture of a baby and a doctors report. The baby was a girl and not Lance's sister. I decided to ask him tomorrow.
