Chapter 34 Declaration In Public
Arius Accardo’s Pov,
“Why are you cheating on Aria with me? I don’t want you to cheat on her, especially with me.” She confessed, resting her forehead over mine, caressing my bottom lip with her without taking initiative to kiss. My fragile Snowflake is really innocent and pure from her heart. I closed the distance, wrapping my hands around her waist.
“Snowflake, I am not cheating on anyone and fucking you. Being with you, making love with you, is my right. You are born to be mine.” I replied over her lips and sucked in mine. She signed in defeat, responding to my kiss, but broke quite early.
“Wear a shirt, everyone must wait for you over the breakfast table.” She remembered getting up to wear her sundress. Don’t worry, my fragile, I will do everything right for you, for us. I will complete my promise to Aunt Lauren.
I still remember that day, when Aunt Lauren found out she is pregnant with a baby girl, she walked towards me with brightest smile I had ever seen on her face and told me, her name will be Aria derived from my name and her responsibility is on me, six years of me agreed too kissing her swollen belly.
Our fathers were talking about something serious, constantly glancing at us and hugging. Beaming continuously. Then, returning to home, my father told me he had signed a blood contract with her father, I just nodded as I didn’t know the meaning of it after that few years ago I found that signed agreement in which her father who is best friend and right-hand man of my father signed the papers of wedding alliance between us. I was furious with my father, deciding her fate with her consent even before her birth, but it was meaningless because everyone was thinking she died that black day of my life. But now I think I like that thing.
I felt a sudden tug over my hand; I turned to see. Elena was looking at me with concern.
“Arius, are you ok? You get lost in your thoughts again.” She asked. I pulled her towards me and pecked her.
“I am ok, just lost in past memories.” I confessed to her which I shouldn’t, but still it happened naturally. She nodded, and I started approaching the front door of her room, holding her close to me. Everyone must wait for us to have breakfast. Alex warned everybody to come on time, as she was so excited to meet Snowflake and talk a lot about stuff with her. If I haven’t given her a chance to talk, she will really get mad at me. Even though she is adopted, we are all affectionate to her. I have completed her every demand and everything that came out of her mouth, as she always reminds me of my mother.
Elena took a step away from me as we started descending the stairs. She thinks that nobody knows about us, but in reality it’s she who doesn’t know anything about me and what kind of business I do. Father was seated on the head chair of the table, fairing his nostrils in anger as usual because I was late. It wasn’t my fault that I was late. It’s snowflakes who made it hard for me multiple times. Always beaming, Alex was peeping to take a look at us as the sound of clicking heel must have taken her attention. Nicole and Marc must be arguing about something stupid stuff and I was right about that they were arguing about what will they use today for shooting in range pistol or rifle.
“appar-- tengo lui, everyone.” She cheered in her broken Italian, beaming the brightest smile on her face, radiating fresh energy everywhere. Everyone stopped doing everything, hearing her words and watching her as she had grown two heads. Then they all turned to me as they knew who was the culprit behind it. Watching them in total silence, she turned to me with a guilty face as she committed a huge sin.
“I am sorry.” She apologized, turning to them as I didn’t have any reason or corrected her instead just smirking at her. Father burst into his throaty loud laugh hearing her and remained joined by him. She was squirming in place, holding her head down as she didn’t know what she actually said. I was surprised watching my father laughing like a child whole heartedly. It’s been years since I have seen him like this. After mom’s death, he never laughed, just kept himself busy in mafia politics all the time.
“I am sure Arius told that to you.” Father began while indicating to her to take a seat pointing his hands towards the chair beside him. She nodded at him in agreement and sat beside me.
“Why were you all laughing at my hello?” She questioned, glancing at them.
“That doesn’t mean hello, it means I belong to him.” Alex explained, grinding at her and turned to me, widening her smile at me. Snowflake jerked her face at me in shock, but changed it into her sharp glares, which I love to watch in her face more than anything. She looks quite alluring in her bladed eyes, especially when its reason is me.
“I belong to him, everyone.” Marc mimicked her and everyone burst into laughter again, looking at her. She tried to stamp my feet, but I dodged and put my hand on her lap. She tried to push my hand but couldn’t. Then she pinched but turned to me as I didn’t give any reaction to her.
“Stop it, Marc.” She scolded him and continued to eat her breakfast while maids were serving our plates for the table. I made sure that every corner of this mansion has her favorite flowers, lavender and strawberries. I don’t know her current favorite items, but I did as I knew she used to like them.
“Elena, I have a lot of things to discuss with you. We will spend time together.” Alex chimed in, eating her pancakes hurriedly to spend time with her.
“Sorry, Alex. I have work to handle with Mr. Accardo, he said he--“ She gasped loudly during her denial as I sneaked my hand inside her dress reaching her upper inner thigh. Alex and Marc looked at her in concern, but father and Nicole continued eating like usual.
“I thought, Alex, I too have a lot of things to ask you. Why don’t we spend all day together.” She agreed, smirking at me in a victory smile.
“Thanks dear.” Alex responded and continued her breakfast. Snowflake turned her face at me, wiggling her eyebrows. I brushed my fingers over her panties. She choked her pancake and started coughing vigorously. I pulled out my hand immediately and rubbed her back. She chuckled at me, then I got her to pull my hand out. I rolled my eyes and got up from my chair.
“You have three hours, Snowflake, then I want you back to work in my office.” I announced and turned to the staircase to get into my office.
Just her presence here put everyone in their place. It was our first breakfast together with my father. The walls of this mansion resonated with laughter again. It felt like everything was normal, but I knew even though I brought her here, Salvatore wasn’t going to keep quiet for longer. He must be planning something.
I walked into my office and approached my desk where all reports of arms trafficking were kept and I haven’t seen them for quite long, but it’s time to continue work again. I tried to work but the flashes of my dark past, the memories that I want to bury deep kept popping up in mind seeing my Snowflake roaming in this mansion which I dreamed about a lot of times in my childhood but this universe never gave me a chance to fulfill it but now she is here, laughing loudly making me feel something which I never felt before nor know what it means to be for me for us. Someone burst open the door of my office and I knew how it was that only one person had dared to do this.
“You should have waited for a few more moments, Arius. Aria is awesome. Have you seen how Uncle was laughing while holding his stomach? Alex is showing her--“ Nicole stopped suddenly at his constant loud bickering as I didn’t turn from my file to see him.
“What are you thinking about? Arius.” He added in a concerned voice, sitting in a chair in front of my desk.
“Nothing. Have you gone through all the reports?” I asked, ignoring his question, turning the chair to face him. He narrowed his eyes a bit as I threw the file in his direction.
“Yaa, I have.” He answered by catching the file and keeping it neatly over the pile of files. I nodded at him, signaling to explain everything to me.
“Marc handled North America well. Our sales of drugs there have hiked, no doubt credit goes to him. Don was handling main Sicily, it’s not my domain to speak about that.” He explained.
“What about Salvatore? His idiot brother is dead. What is he doing?” I questioned, leaning over the chair facing the window.
“He is still in shock, and didn’t take any steps which harm us, but he will soon.” He added, walking towards the corner bar of my office.
“His men were searching for her.” He added while preparing two glasses of whiskey.
“I assume, in a few weeks, he will find out where she is.” He hypothesized, approaching me, forwarding a glass to me.
“We will strike first, not going to wait for him to attack one more time.” I announced, taking a glass from him. He nodded, and we finished our glasses.
“Have you found that bug who removed the drugs from the painting?” I asked as I remembered about that thing who challenged my chain of works. It will be fun playing with him. It’s been a long I haven’t interrogated someone.
“He is in the basement, waiting for his death.” Nicole answered with a laugh. I turned towards him, hearing him laughing.
“I know Arius, you won’t let him die easily.” He chuckled, filling the glasses one more time. I smirked. The bastard knew me well.
“One more thing Arius, you shouldn’t have brought her here like you did.” He added, turning to me.
