1.Certified heart breaker

Vera's point of view:

I stare out of the car window, my heart burning in pain. I never wanted to be at that party in the first place. I only went there because of my grandmother. Is her birthday party; as the rules hold it in the family, every member of the family must attend any event held by the family no matter what.

It was my grandma's 75th birthday and every member of my family was going to be present with their partners and I didn't want to look like an odd card. In my family, I was graded the lowest as they see me as a failure and a loser. My sisters won't miss a chance to bully me.

I'm the only one among my sisters that doesn't have a car, a good apartment, a good earning job and most of all a boyfriend. But I did. I did have a boyfriend three months ago but my sister Wendy stole him from me. Well, she didn't steal him, she was the one the scumbag had wanted from the beginning.

Nathan was my first boyfriend and I must say last boyfriend because since then, I haven't had any boyfriend yet. That bastard was fake than real, he was a scumbag who dated me to get close to my sister Wendy. I wasn't so surprised, men hardly make advances to me; so what makes me think that the handsome Nathan will fall for a weird and unrealistic girl like me and who wouldn't fall for Wendy's beauty.

Among my sisters, Wendy is the most glamorous and richest. She's a model and also a business lady. She recently launched her beauty salon last month. She's a beauty to behold, classic and the most fashionable in my family but most of all, she's egoistic and arrogant.

My sisters have always belittled me and made me feel inferior, my mother not an exception. My mother hates me so much and I wondered why. She loves my successful sisters. Funny enough, she was the one that made them successful. She never cared about me nor my future.

My younger sister Lyn who's just eighteen years old has achieved a lot in life which I know very well that my mother was the backbone of her success. She always compares me to Lyn when she has never tried to help me achieve my dreams even for once…. Isn't that incredulous!

When I needed money to enroll in a cooking competition that if I had participated and won, it would definitely boost my dream of becoming a chef.

I begged my mother for that money, she had it but she didn't give it to me. My grandma actually tried to help me back then, she gave me some money but my mother took it from me. It nearly caused a rift between my grandma and my mother so I just disassembled the issue by saying I was no longer interested in the competition.

Those days till today hurt so much but now I don't need any of her help, I just want to live my life. I have decided to thrive by myself and won't depend on anyone.

My mother treats me like I'm an outcast, like I'm not part of the family. I wonder if she's my real mother because she's the worst mother one can ever ask for.

If only I knew, I wouldn't have gone to that birthday party. Now I feel more miserable than ever. Well, I always feel miserable whenever I meet my sisters and my mother.

I know my sisters will bully the hell out of me if I don't come to the party with a boyfriend. I thought that things would be different if I go with a boyfriend to the party and then avoid their bully, that was why I asked Mr Green eyes to be my fake boyfriend but no, things were worse. They hurt me like they always do.

At the party, my mother and sisters kept asking too many questions…. I'm sure they found it so hard to believe that I found a boyfriend just three months after breaking up with Nathan. Luckily for me, my fake boyfriend acted so well and they couldn't figure out anything odd. My grandma was so happy that I got myself a boyfriend, she was the only one happy for me at the party and the only one that loves me.

Mr Green eyes didn't even go to the birthday party with me, that hunky man sent another man to go with me. If he doesn't want to be my fake boyfriend, why then did he accept? Maybe he felt so embarrassed to act like my boyfriend. Who would even want to be the boyfriend of a weirdo like me.

I wonder why I'm even going with this man to the so-called mansion of Mr Green eyes. He didn't act like my boyfriend anymore so I don't think I will keep to my promise of giving him anything he wants.

What the fuck! What do I even have to give him? I'm a broke ass…. I have not less than ten thousand dollars in my account.

“I don't think it's necessary to go with you to Mr Green eye's mansion. He didn't act like my boyfriend so the deal is off, stop the car… I will take a taxi back to my apartment," I said to the gentleman who Mr Green eyes sent to act like my boyfriend instead of him doing the job himself. The gentleman called Stephen is the one controlling the car.

“I'm sorry miss but my boss instructed me sternly to make sure I bring you to his mansion once the birthday party is over," the man calmly replied. He had been such a gentleman, he was treating me with care. For a while, I actually wished that he's my real boyfriend. But that's not possible, this handsome man won't agree to be a boyfriend to a girl like me.

“But your boss didn't abide by the deal we made, so there's no need to keep to the deal. Just stop the car, I'm not in a good mood to argue right now," I curtly said.

“I'm sorry miss but I can't stop the car until I reach the estate. The deal is still on because my boss fulfilled his promise. Even though he didn't go with you, he sent me so that means he covered his own bargain of the deal and you need to cover yours too," his voice is calm like always. I wonder if someone like him will ever get angry.

Assessing his words, I realized that he's right. Mr Green eyes actually kept his own bargain of the deal because if he didn't send this man to go with me, then I won't attend my grandma's birthday party with a boyfriend. But what's the need of going to that party with a boyfriend, nothing changed. I wonder what Mr Green will ask of me, what if it's something I can't do.

Gosh! I shouldn't have made this useless deal. I'm even wondering why a man like him accepted a deal with a girl like me. I don't even know where I got the boldness to ask him to be my boyfriend.

Well, I think I did because he's a playboy. I work in a five-star hotel as a cleaner and that man always comes to the hotel with different girls. No, the girls are actually the ones that come to him. He always lodges at the hotel and sleeps with different women. I do spy on him.

No man has ever fallen in love with me and I don't think any man will fall in love with a frumpish girl like me so I need a man I won't fall in love with because I don't want any heartbreak. I believe I can never fall for a playboy because falling for a playboy is torturing myself

This was the reason I chose Mr Green eyes to act as my fake boyfriend because I can't get myself to fall in love with a certified heartbreaker… that's what all playboys are.

After listening to what the gentleman had to say, I didn't speak further. I will quietly go to Mr Green eye's mansion. Once I reach there, I will just ask him what he wants… Once I do it, I will end the deal and leave immediately.
