29. Girlfriend

Vera's point of view:

I love birthday parties, I am really happy to leave the mansion after staying there for days without going anywhere. But my most joy is seeing Mr. Green eyes after one week. Hugging him was so soothing, it made me realize that I've missed him more than I think.

I don't know what is wrong with me but what can I do… I'm too weak to control my feelings right now. The only thing I will do is just relax and see how things unfold. If I allow myself to fall in love with him, I will have to be strong to face the consequences but for now, I love every feeling of being with him... I will just enjoy it while it lasts. When he kissed me, I felt so good and I kissed him back in every way I could. I think I've learned a bit about kissing, I don't know but I will keep on trying.

I was really nervous, not knowing if he would like my make-over but I was glad when he said that I'm beautiful. It made me shy and also happy.

I was really pissed with him for not telling me about his trip and just like I'd assumed, he said that he forgot to add my number in the information he gathered about me.

I was trying to appear angry but I failed woefully when he said that I'm so cute. I couldn't help but smile shyly and hid my face in his chest, my cheeks flushed.

I love his intoxicating scent, hiding my face in his chest. I was allowed to inhale those sweet scents of his. At first I was scared of this man but now I'm so comfortable around him, I don't know how it happened.

The soothing smell of his scent almost made me fall asleep but then his voice jolted me up.

“We are here," he said. I raised my head and stared out through the car window. Wow! This place is so beautiful. If the exterior is this stunning, what about the interior.

The car door was opened for me and Mr Green eyes as we stepped down. My eyes scrutinize the vicinity. This looks like a hotel but a classical one, the building is ostentatious.

I smiled shyly when Mr. Green eyes intertwined our arms together as we walked inside the building. I feel so shy walking this way with him but nevertheless I'm happy. We are walking as a couple, I don't know why it felt so good.

Mr. Green eyes suddenly stopped walking and that made me stop walking too. His eyes were searching the whole area as if he's looking for something or someone. He also held my arm so tight and I can feel some tension in him in a form of anger. I wonder what's suddenly wrong with him.

But after a few minutes, he seemed calm. I still felt that something was wrong so I asked. “Is there a problem?"

He stares at me and flashes me a smile which doesn't reach his eyes and says,

“Nothing, let's go."

I know that's a lie but I didn't ask anymore questions. We continued our way into the beguiling hotel building.

“Wow!" I couldn't help but exclaim once again in amazement. What a beautiful building. The exterior did no justice to the interior, I had assumed it after all.

We finally arrived at what seemed like an event Hall. Yeah, it's definitely an event hall due to how large it is. The number of people and how beautiful it's decorated.

Goodness! There are so many people here. Being an introvert, I might die from shyness. Entering fully inside the hall, I was able to check out the few people I could lay my eyes on. But first, the exquisite design of the hall caught my attention the most. The expensive looking chandeliers that dangled from the high ceiling provided a spark of light from one end of the room to the other making the room appear so alluring under the sparkling decoration. Many round tables were dotted around the room, decorated tastefully with a blue and white motif

Seeing how classical and extravagant these people are dressed, I then understand why Mr Green ordered for my make-over. I had thought that my dress and jewelry and even my makeup are a bit too much but seeing the women here, I don't think it is. I am glad that I dressed this way, if not, I won't fit here. I believe this party is not meant for the poor but for the rich. The way everyone present here are dressed and the decoration says it all.

I blushed in shyness and stopped checking out my environment when the eyes of some people in the hall fell on me and Mr. Green eyes. I quickly threw my head down, not daring to raise it.

“Mr. Rodriguez." I heard a masculine voice. I only peep to look at the person that approached us, he's a tan skin man that might be in his late thirties.

Mr. Rodriguez? That must be Mr. Green eyes surname.

“Mr. Smith," Mr. Green eyes said.

“Thank you for honouring my invitation." Oh! It looks like the tan skin man is the one celebrating his birthday.

We were taken to a VIP section. I saw Liam there. He's dressed handsomely and his beautiful eyes shine brightly.

“Liam." I flashed him a smile. He's also invited. I can't see Kyle or maybe he didn't come.

“Vera." He looks a little bit surprised to see me. “Wow! You look so beautiful," he added and took my hand as he kissed the back of my palm. I smiled shyly. He stares at Mr. Green eyes and gives off something that seems like a teasing smile.

“Dominic." A feminine voice called. I turned to see a stunning lady in what I think is a sapphire dress. Actually I'm not so good at identifying types of dress. I recognized the lady as Beta Vanessa. She's smiling lovingly at Mr. Green eyes. How can I forget her name? Not after how she treated me when we first met. What's she doing here? Maybe she's also invited. I feel like I'm scared of this woman, she was so scary the first day we met. I believe she doesn't like me. She gave me a hateful look but I didn't bother to look at her, I took my eyes away.

She slightly hugged Mr. Green eyes who gave her a little peck on the cheek. I pouted on seeing that, I don't know why I felt angry… is not like Mr. Green eyes is my real boyfriend, we are in a fake relationship. Beta Vanessa is his best friend so I'm sure they act lovely towards each other.

As the party was going on. Many people came to greet Mr. Green eyes. Almost everyone here knows him. These people are not addressing him as Alpha as his workers at the mansion do…. Well, maybe that's what he told his workers to be calling him.

He was introducing me as his girlfriend. I was surprised. Did he take our fake relationship real? I won't lie, I love it. I love the way he was introducing me as his girlfriend.

Vanessa has a look full of hatred, I didn't bother about that. I think that she loves Mr. Green eyes but Mr. Green eyes said they are just friends. Well, it looks like he's the only one thinking that way. Beta Vanessa is not thinking the same. I'm sure she hates me because I'm living with Mr Green eyes and now she's jealous because Mr Green eyes is introducing me as his girlfriend.

Well, she shouldn't worry too much. After six months I'm going to leave the mansion and my fake relationship with Mr. Green eyes will end. He's a playboy so he's not going to love either of us. Introducing me as his girlfriend might be just to play around.

Mr. Green eyes didn't give me any breathing space; he made sure I was close to him throughout the party until I felt pressed. I need to use the restroom. Mr. Green eyes wanted to come with me but I said no. He still didn't allow me to go by myself, he asked Beta Vanessa to go with me.

What! Beta Vanessa. It's even better to go with Mr Green eyes than this lady. I was about to say no but Beta Vanessa quickly spoke and held my arms.

“Let's go." She smiled lovingly at me. I couldn't find myself saying no. Is she real with those smiles...I think the smiles are fake. She even apologized for the way she treated me the first time we met. She said we can be friends. I don't know if I should trust her but she somehow sounded sincere, maybe she's really sorry for what she did. But what was with that hateful look she was throwing at me a while ago?

We both went to the restroom but she waited for me at the exit. I walked inside the restroom. After doing my business, I was washing my hands when I felt the presence of a person behind me. I look up and stare at the mirror but find no one, I even turn but yet no one is here except me; Beta Vanessa is outside.

I shrugged and retired to wash my hands but suddenly I started perceiving a strong unpleasant smell. The smell is not just unpleasant but it's doing something to my body. I started feeling weak, dizzy and sleepy. Before I knew it, my legs couldn't carry me any longer due to how weak I felt, my eyes become heavy and in a few seconds I slumped on the floor, darkness washed over me.
