51. I don't need any other woman by my side

“Dominic, don't you think we need to investigate this deeper. What if the rumor Vanessa is talking about is true," Liam said as we were seated in the car driving back to my pack house. If I had heard what Vanessa said a few hours ago, I wouldn't leave little bunny and come to the shadow moon pack. I'd bring her with me.

“Do you think Vera has any special power? The vampires wouldn't be looking for her if she doesn't have anything special they could get from her or maybe she's not the human girl in question, although that assumption could be lame since she's known to be the only human girl in our region." Kyle added.

“Whether the rumor is true or not, all I know is that I will never allow the vampires to touch Vera. I must protect her and I think I will start by going to the Mystic pack with her."

“You are not serious with the Mystic pack thing, are you? Liam asks.

“Mystic pack? Is there something I'm missing out here?" Kyle questioned.

“Dominic wants to become the Alpha of the Mystic pack. I don't know what the hell he was thinking when he made that decision. Wait… you were there when he told us, why are you asking again." Liam replied.

I held back the chuckle. Kyle can be funny sometimes. He asked the question as if he wasn't there when I told them about my decision to go to the Mystic pack and become their Alpha.

“Fuck! I'd forget. I think I forgot because I thought he was joking. I hope you are not serious with that stuff, Dominic?"

“Can you both leave me alone, I need to think. I've already told you guys the reason I needed to go to the Mystic pack and become their Alpha."

“No reason given can justify that lame decision of yours. Have you forgotten your hatred for the Mystic pack, what has changed all of a sudden? What the fuck Dominic, that's not even all. You also want to leave your pack, how could you think of doing such a thing?" Kyle sounded disappointed.

“Especially in a time like this. What will you tell the council?" Liam chipped in.

I ran my fingers through my hair. I'm damn confused. Before, I wasn't sure with my decision of going to the Mystic pack but now I think I'm ready to owe up to my decision.

“I think Vera's life is in danger, if the rumor turns out to be true. I need to take her away from here."

Liam scoffed, “Do you think taking Vera away from here will protect her? I'm sure the vampire will find her. Remember that the traitor is among us, we do not have secrets any more."

“You are strong enough to fight the vampires. We can protect her if she's here." Kyle was staring directly at me. I can feel that he still can't believe the decision I took.

“I know that, Kyle but that's not actually the reason. I don't know Kyle…" I took a deep breath. “I'm just confused but I think there's no reason to be. I've made my decision and I'm not changing it."

“Fuck! You are stubborn Dominic." Liam cursed under his breath.

“What do you plan on doing to the blood moon pack if you leave?" Kyle asked. The way he's staring at me shows that he's waiting for me to give an absurd answer.

“You two are here, you can take care of the blood moon pack. You are both powerful to rule the pack."

“And if we refused to do so," Liam said.

“I know that you won't."

“Damn it! I never thought you could be selfish. You want to abandon your pack." Kyle sounded sad and disappointed.

“And what about Vera, do you think she will want to leave her life here in America and go with you to London?" Liam asked.

I mused over his words. Will I be able to convince little bunny?

”You don't have to worry about her. I'm sorry guys that I had to be selfish but I had to do this," I said and I'm glad that's where the discussion ended.

I need to tell the council about my decision in the meeting they'd call us.

Though I hadn't mentioned this. When I was seventeen, I met a strange woman who said that she's a fortune teller. She'd tell me something then but I never took it seriously but now that everything is unfolding, I can't help but think that her words were right.

She said that I'm destined to be the Alpha of the Mystic pack but I'd laughed her words away.

Returning to the pack house, I didn't have another word with Liam and Kyle. I just moved towards my other room. I don't know why I feel agitated and restless, probably because of the news I heard. If those vampires are actually looking for my little bunny, then they will have me to face because I don't mind wiping away their whole clan to protect my little bunny.

I entered the shower thinking that it would calm me down but it did not work. I stayed under the shower for some while before I pulled out. I dried my skin, applied lotion before putting on my pajamas and then went towards my other room where little bunny is. Arriving there, the sweet scent of lavender and honey filled my nostrils, l found little bunny sitting comfortably on the bed while she watched a movie showing on a television. Wait…. Television? I don't remember buying a television and mounting it in my room.

“Dominic!" You are here. She said excitedly. She'd only given me a glance before her attention was taken back to the movie she's watching. I didn't miss the fact that she called me by my name. She has never called me Dominic. What happened to Mr. Green eyes or Alpha? I was even surprised when she started calling me Alpha but she said that she loves the sound. Why then did she suddenly change it to Dominic. I told her to call me by my name but she said no. I can't help but think that something made her suddenly start calling me by my name.

“Don't be surprised with the television, I ordered it. Sometimes, it's so boring here so I will need something to cheer up my mood. If you don't like watching movies, maybe you can stay in your other room while I occupy here or I will go back to my apartment."

A little growl escaped my throat. She flinched. I cautioned myself, I was angry with her words but I should have reacted in another way and not scaring her.

“Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you," I said and moved towards her as I pulled her into my arms. I buried my nose in the crook of her neck, relishing her scent. Her scent calms me and drives me crazy at the same time and the warmness in her body is so relaxing. Something down there is throbbing. I'd realised that I will never get enough of my little bunny. I will always crave for her. Any seconds I spend away from her will be like hours.

“You don't need to apologise, I know you will never hurt me." I smile at her words. I'm glad she has learned to trust me and not be scared of me. “I read that werewolves tend to release a growl when they are angry or not pleased with something. Are you angry that I bought a television in your room without telling you?"

I chuckled, how can she think of something like that. “Of course not, I will never get angry at you for any reason. You mean the world to me. I was only a little bit angry when you said that you will go back to your house. Not angry though but I was not pleased with your words."

“I was just joking. I will not go back to my house even if you take away the television. I followed you here, it's my decision to be with you and I will never leave you."

I gently release her from my arms as I stare into her eyes. Those beautiful enchanting eyes had forever enchanted me. They are so alluring that I will never get enough of staring at them. I cupped her cheeks, my eyes not breaking from hers. I can see in her eyes, the answer I'd needed. I was sure that she loved me but I'm scared that her life will be in danger if she stays with me. I don't mind protecting her with my life. Besides, if I lose her my life will be worthless. I've realized that I can't live without her. I love this human so much that I can't think of spending a second of my life without her.

I'm contemplating if she will accept to go to the Mystic pack with me. It will mean that she will leave her home country and move entirely to another country and not to live with humans but to live with werewolves and probably become their Luna.

Of course, she will become my Luna. If we move to the Mystic pack, she will start her Luna training. I don't care if she's not a werewolf but all I know is that she's the only one I want to spend the rest of my life with. I don't need any other woman by my side.
