Is my brother going to be proposed to?
Will
When I left Nate's house with the intention of coming to my grandfather's party, I didn't expect so many different emotions at the same time. If I were a gossip show host, I would certainly give the following summary:
You can't miss it! On today's program, watch the seven amazing moments from the birthday party, of the patriarch of the Woninchai family, that impacted my evening...
1 - My grandfather doing what my parents didn't, taking me in;
2 - My parents pretending I don't exist, while my mother confabulates with Kanya's mother, our wedding, which will happen only in their heads;
3 - Kanya being insistent, asking me to dance;
4 - Nate pulling me out of Kanya's arms;
5 - Nate letting his body do the talking for him, and grabbing me in my grandfather's library, as if he had never had sex in his life (which was quite interesting!);
6 - Lyn and her antics;
7 - The arrival of Sunee;
— When did you arrive? — asked Lyn, and then hugged her tightly. She detaches herself from Lyn, looks at me and speaks.
— Are you just going to watch? Won't you hug me, Bunny?
I hug her, and that nostalgic feeling takes over me. How I miss her! She detaches herself from me, and looks at my boyfriend.
— Wow, you brought Thirasak, Bunny? — she asks, and I look at Nate, and notice that his ears are red.
He is probably feeling insecure in front of my sister. I hold his hand, smile at him, and then look at Sunee.
— Stop being silly, Sunee! It's not enough that Lyn is picking on him, now it's you!
— Nate, if you felt uncomfortable with my joke, forgive me!
— No, it's okay! I didn't want to disturb this family moment of yours, and...
— But you're family, Nate! — Sunee walks up to him and touches his shoulder. — Don't be ashamed of me, please! Can I hug you, brother- in-law?
He smiles, shakes his head in agreement, and my sister hugs him, and he returns the gesture. They let go of each other, Nate stares at her.
— Sorry for my reaction, I thought you didn't know about me...
And your brother! — This sentence of his takes me by surprise.
— Why would I hide from myself, sister, that we are boyfriend and girlfriend?
— You said you told her you were dating a guy, but you didn't tell her who it was, and then you didn't tell me anything else!
— That was a long time ago, of course I talked to her again later, and told her it was you!
— But if he didn't tell me, I would know it was you. He spends 80% of our conversation talking about you, and the other 20% waiting for me to ask! — she says and everyone laughs.
— Sunee! I had forgotten that you are worse than Lyn...
— You both learned from me, silly! — she says and squeezes my cheek.

We followed to where our grandfathers are as soon as we heard our names being called, in this case Lyn and I, because no one expected Sunee's arrival, at least that's what I thought, until we approached the stage, and our grandfather said "Sunee, by the delay I thought you wouldn't arrive until tomorrow!"
She walks over to him and hugs him. At this moment I make a point of looking at the faces of our parents, who are standing next to my grandfather. I feel the urge to laugh, the expressions on their faces are priceless. My father seems to change color, he is red as a shrimp, my mother has the same expression as the characters in a horror movie when they are surprised by a jumpscare. Everyone who knows our family makes a face of astonishment at my sister's presence, however, I believe that they don't know the reason for her absence in these last three years, after all, my parents didn't tell anyone that their eldest daughter preferred to do an MBA in London, with the intention of going after the girl he loved.
After my grandfather blows out the candles, I approach to congratulate him once again, Sunee still standing next to him. My parents try to move away, but are stopped by my grandfather's voice.
— Phailin, Suchart... Where are you going? — they turn and come closer, standing very close to me, my grandfather and Sunee. — Aren't you going to talk to your eldest daughter, or do you prefer to pretend she doesn't exist?
— We don't pretend she doesn't exist, I think Sunee made her choice, and in doing so lost her daughter privileges! — says my father with an angry look on his face.
— Nothing surprises me in your speech, my father! It is easier for you to have unhappy children, but always doing what you want... Including pretending to be something you are not!
My mother starts to speak, but is intercepted by my grandfather.
— You know, I really hope you wake up from this homophobic nightmare, but wake up early, before it is too late, because denying that your children are LGBT is not going to make them turn straight in a magic wand.

My grandfather's party was full of surprises, and the most exciting part was the arrival of Sunee, which thank heavens, made my parents leave quickly, after what my grandfather said, and along with them, Kanya and her family also left. Something that made me more relieved, his presence, since I found out that he likes me, has been bothering me. I don't like his insistence, especially on the phone, he always calls, but I don't answer, he texts and I don't answer, and his attitude seems to have my mother's support.
My mind comes back to reality when I hear a familiar voice speaking in my ear, and a pair of hands squeeze my shoulders.
— Thinking about the boyfriend?
I let out a laugh, as Sunee sits in the chair next to me, and the jokester lets go of my shoulders and sits in front of me.
— Wow, you took your time! What happened? — I question my sisters.
— Sunee decided to drive, she was sure she remembered the way, but it seems she didn't, and forgot which way this restaurant was. — Lyn says with a debauched smile on her face.
— I didn't forget, I just got a little lost, a lot has changed in these last years.
— Okay, now let's order something to eat while you tell us the news! - Lyn exclaims.
— Do we both have news? Don't you have any? — Sunee asked Lyn.
— My life is all about college, faking dementia with our parents and annoying people, having fun with my friends, dreaming that one day I will become a backpacker to travel the world, and that's it!
I face her with a smile.
— You're forgetting something else, aren't you?
— Ah... Yes! To dream that one day I will marry Jin! - she says and lets out a laugh.
— Lyn and her impossible dreams! — exclaims Sunee. — Now our little Bunny has some interesting things to tell us!
— I have nothing to tell! — I say, smile, and my sisters also smile, look at each other and cynically stare at me. — It's no big deal, girls! I just fell in love with my romantic partner in the series, it took a lot of work to get him. We work together, and we are together all the time, that's all!
— Did it take so much work to win him over? Why? — asks Sunee.
— Lyn knows how much work it was, because I cried in her lap several times! — I say and Lyn shakes her head. — Nate was slow to accept his feelings, and also slow to take some important steps within our relationship.
— Important steps? What do you mean? — asks Sunee.
— Ah... Eh...
— From the shame on your face, it must be sex. Isn't it? — Sunee continues the question. — I can see the scene now, Nate didn't want to be the passive one, did he?
Sunee asked, and Lyn laughed.
— You mean Lyn knows the details, and I don't? Why not? — she asks, feigning indignation.
— Because you are always too busy, the time zone doesn't cooperate, I am also working a lot, in my spare time I am with Nate, and I was not passive in the beginning!
— What do you mean? — both ask in unison.
— I didn't see any problems in being passive, and I offered myself, because I saw that we wouldn't leave 0-0, but my boyfriend wanted to try it, and after a while I wanted to try it too...
— A flex couple? That's wonderful! — exclaims Lyn, and Sunee nods in agreement.
— But what about you? What brought you back to the country? And it's no use saying it was Grandpa's party, because you were whispering the whole time...
— I will tell you, but you must keep it a secret, at least for now. Grandpa wants me to be his company representative! — Sunee exclaims.
— What do you mean? — I ask.
— He is going to step away from the business, and there will be a meeting to choose the new CEO, and our father doesn't want to take this position. Grandpa wants to appoint me...
— To be CEO? — Lyn asks and Sunee shakes her head in a positive sign.
— But do our parents, the other shareholders, know this? — I ask.
— He has the support of practically all the shareholders, except our parents. He wants to appoint me without them knowing, and I will be a sort of trainee for a year, until I adapt to the new function, and then take over!
— If our parents find out, it will be chaos! — Lyn speaks up and looks at me perplexed.
— The interesting thing is that our parents had someone else in mind, but Grandpa convinced the other shareholders that this person would not have the experience for the job, but he found out that our father had given up on the idea. — she says and looks at me seriously.
— But who was this person? — I ask and signal the waiter to approach.
— You!
— This does not surprise me!
— You were the future CEO of the companies, but finding out that you are gay, made our father give up on the idea. — Sunee says.
— I don't know, but I don't think our mother has given up on this idea yet! — exclaims Lyn.
— Why do you say that? — I ask.
— I told you she was planning a double wedding, didn't I? Kanya and her mother have been having dinner at the house lately. — Lyn replies.
— Nothing that comes from our mother surprises me! — I sigh deeply and my sisters look at me with concern, while the waiter approaches us to take our orders.
— Really, but I think you'd better watch out, it may sound silly, but we don't know what she's up to! - exclaims Lyn.

A few days have passed since my lunch with my sisters, and I can't get that absurd idea of my parents out of my head, in thinking that I would take over the companies without having any desire to work in the area, unlike Sunee who has always been interested in everything related to the family business, studied, interned, dedicated herself to this because it is what she likes to do, but my parents never saw it.
Unlike me, Nate is very excited about buying his apartment. After many visits to several apartments, and he insisted that I accompany him in all of them, he finally chose and closed a deal on an apartment near the center of Bangkok, in a prime area of the capital, and with the same characteristics of the apartment he lived in with his mother, except for having one less room, in this case two, and a giant balcony. As we had a few days off, I helped him do the shopping for his house, and I confess that it was an adventure, after all, we did not want people to recognize us, but fortunately everything went well.
Especially today, Nate is very excited because he is having his first dinner party in his new apartment, and has invited his mother, uncle, and my sisters. At first I thought that the intention of the dinner was to ask me to marry him, because he was acting so mysterious about the subject, which made me insist so much on knowing what he intended, and he confessed that it was just a social for our families to integrate more.
As he opens the door, my eyes meet his, and a silly smile breaks out on my lips, and he does the same. My eyes travel all over his body. I like what I see, a pair of jeans that show well on his thighs, and a black shirt, tight on his body, the first two buttons open. These are the kind of clothes that he doesn't usually wear, and when he does, it is because I insist a lot. What does he intend with this?
— Brother-in-law, are we going in, or are you and my brother going to stay there in your little world? — Lyn asks and snaps us out of our trance.
— Of course! — he exclaims and opens the door wider for us to enter. — Please, come in and make yourselves at home!
I let my sisters in first, and continue to stare at him while he talks to them and points to the couch at the end of the room, near the balcony. Then he turns his gaze to me, and smiles. I go in, close the door, and when I turn around, he glues his body to mine and wraps his hands around my waist, and I have no room to move.
— What is it? I can't pass? — I ask and smile.
— To pass you have to give me a kiss?
— Oh, really? What if I don't want to?
He interchanges his gaze between my eyes and my mouth, and then puts his mouth to my ear, and speaks in a very sly way.
— Would you do that to your Kitty? I need a kiss, Bunny!
He looks at me again. I run my tongue between my lips, and lightly touch his, and let go and watch him. He smiles, and returns the kiss gently.

It would be wonderful if my parents could be like my mother-in- law, who never did or said anything to make us feel bad, on the contrary, since the beginning she supported us, even when we were still "FRIENDS", and see her at the table, together with my sisters and Nate's uncle, talking, smiling because of some joke made by Lyn, and who doesn't miss the opportunity to tell us the most ridiculous and absurd things we have ever been through. It's moments like this that make me even happier, but even so, I feel something bothering my boyfriend, since our arrival, that honey moment at the door, I notice he is nervous, he seems to want to tell me something, I don't know, he is weird!
He gets up and goes to the kitchen, takes a moment and comes back holding a bottle of champagne, and everyone at the table looks toward him, who stares at me with an infectious smile.
— What are we going to celebrate, Nate?
He continues smiling, opens the bottle, and fills the glasses that were on the table, and lastly mine, always maintaining eye contact, and begins his speech.
— So I think it is a very appropriate time to celebrate, since part of our families are here. You know, if someone had told me a year and a half ago that my life would change so much after meeting you, I would have said it was a lie. — he says, and then pulls out a velvet box from his pocket, and automatically my hands start to sweat, my heart seems to want to come out of my mouth.
I stare at him in disbelief at the gesture, and before he can speak, Lyn says something.
— What? Is my brother going to be proposed to?
