CHAPTER FIFTY
CHAPTER FIFTY: LEO
The senior bash was today and I couldn't wait to pick up Athena, it had been a few days since we started dating and I couldn't stop thinking about her, she as craved herself in my heart and I didn't mind one bit, I loved her strawberry scent, her shyness, and the fact that she only has eyes for me.
With all the drama with Dalton and the police, I tried to make him come to the bash so he could have fun, but he insisted on staying home, he didn't even want us to stay when we offered to stay with him because he didn't want to ruin our fun.
I really hope his mum wakes up soon so we can have the old Austin back. I really missed him.
After much deliberation, I settled on a pair of blue shorts, a black t-shirt, and a pair of black boots. I also took my hood with me in case I get cold.
Sophia offered to watch Shane while we were at the party, so he was still in his room packing some overnight stuff. When I was okay with my look, I looked at my watch and saw that we were already late.
"Shane, come on, it's getting late," I yelled from the kitchen.
"I'm here, take a chill pill, Athena isn't going anywhere," Shane signed as he came out of his room carrying his school back.
"You got jokes, get over here so we can get going," I said as we both stepped out the door, shutting it behind us.
We got into the car, I started the engine, and we were on our way to Athena's apartment complex. When we arrived, Athena and Sophia were already waiting for us, and Shane jumped out of the car to hug them.
"Hey Shane, we're going to have the best sleepover ever," Sophia said, making Shame smile.
"Hi Sophia, thank you for keeping an eye on Shane while we're at the party," I said as I walked towards them, never taking my gaze away from Athena, who looked lovely in her black skater dress and red ballet flats.
"It's my pleasure, Leo; I enjoy spending time with this little guy."
"You look beautiful, Princessa," I said,
"Thank you, you don't look so bad yourself," Athena said shyly,
"Bye Sophia, bye Shane, you guys should have fun," Athena added as we headed towards the truck.
"Don't do what I wouldn't do!" shouted Sophia as she and Shane burst out laughing as Athena turned to stare at her.
"Very funny, Sophia," Athena responded with a slight smile.
"Have fun, you guys," Sophia added as she and Leo walked back inside the apartment complex.
When we arrived at the car, I assisted Athena into the front seat and pulled the seat belt over her; once her belt was secure, I leaned in and placed a quick kiss on her lips; when I pulled away, her emerald eyes stared into mine in amusement; I smiled and closed the door before going over to my side to get into the car.
"Leo, how's Austin?" she asked.
"Not too well, but he said he will be okay. He stayed at his old house today because it was closer to the hospital, in case anything happens,"
"Okay, I'm glad he's trying to be strong when things aren't going well; I just wish there was something we could do to alleviate his pain." Athena softly whispered
"Just as being therefore him is enough," I said, placing my free hand on her lap and massaging circles on her exposed skin to comfort her, she smiled at me and leaned in to kiss my cheek.
As we came closer to the venue, we could hear loud music coming from the wooded area. The senior party was hosted in this particular forest because it was a tradition.
After parking in the designated area, I got out of the car and walked over to Athena's side to open the door for her like the gentlemen that I was.
"Thank you, kind sir," she replied, chuckling at her bad British accent
"You are welcome, milady," I said in an equally terrible accent. We both broke out laughing, grabbing the attention of the people around us.
"Is that Leo and Athena? They look good together," someone said as I took Athena's hand and led her to the front, disregarding the odd comments about us.
"I don't know what he sees in her."
"She looks hot for a freak," the jock muttered to his friends, and I glared at him, making him shut up and walk away with his friends.
"Come on, Leo, they're not worth getting angry over. Let's go get something to eat," Athena said as she pulled me towards the snacks table.
I grabbed a bottle of cola for Athena, a bottle of beer for myself, and two bags of chips before we took our seats on a fallen log away from the loud music.
A few minutes later, Diana called everyone together for a game of truth or dare, and we all gathered in a circle, asking questions. The majority of the girls selected truth, while the majority of the guys chose dare.
When it was my turn, a football player asked me, "Truth or dare,
"Dare," I replied
"Pick any girl and make out with her for five minutes." I turned to kiss Athena, completely my dare. Diana gave us a sideways glance, but I ignored her. Tonight, I wasn't in the mood for her drama.
"Who did you lose your virginity to freak?'' Diana spat as she glared at Athena, I don't know why she hates Athena so much. Something must have happened between them.
"Not that it's any of your business, but my boyfriend Leo had the honor of doing that," Athena added, giving Diana a sly smirk that made me chuckle, Diana turned to glared at me.
"Everyone, did you know this freak's first boyfriend dated her on a dare?" Diana smirked.
"Can you please stop being a bitch for once in your pathetic life, Diana?" Athena asked as she walked away from the game and towards the pond. I rose to my feet to pursue her when Diana stopped me, and before I could turn around, I couldn't find her.
"Diana, can you please leave me the fuck alone?" I yelled, angered by her bitchy behavior.
"What does she have that I don't?" Why would you choose her over me? I'm way hotter than her," Diana complained, her high-pitched voice fucking hurting my ears as she talked.
"Dignity, self-respect, she doesn't sleep around, she doesn't dress like a playboy model and she is fucking beautiful. She is everything you are not, I don't hit girls but don't push me Diana," I replied, pulling my hand away from her grip.
"That freak is going to get what she deserves," Diana said with an evil grin on her face, then I heard a scream followed by a splash, afraid for Athena's safety, I ran towards the pond without looking back.
