HIS ARDOUS TASK
" SAGE." I roared, kicking open the door of my mansion.
I got startled for a second, seeing my mother standing right in front of me with rage written across her face. Sofia and Giana were beside her, smiling at me.
Leo was beside her, his arm was wrapped around Sage's waist keeping her in place as she kept thrashing in his hold.
" Mother," I muttered, silently sliding the pistol in my pocket.
" What did you do to her, Hades?" she glared at me, giving Sage a quick glance.
My eyes roamed back to Sage, there was blood all over her tiny figure. Her dress was completely ruined and her hair looked like a nest. She screamed, hitting Leo's hand when she caught me staring at her.
Cute little bitch.
" Let's go inside. Get her, Leo." Mother muttered as she walked inside.
Leo pulled Sage up, carrying her inside as she kept screaming. I followed them, closing the door behind me.
My eyes were fixed on Sage as I walked in. She was trembling and mumbling incoherent words to herself.
" What is this, Hades? What did you do to the girl?" I clenched my fists when mother screamed at me.
" She infuriated me." I gritted out the words, glaring at Sage.
" That does not explain why you were trying to kill her, Hades. She is our only hope and you can't kill her just like that," she growled.
" This is the only reason I told you not to marry her." she sighed, sitting on the couch.
I kneeled down near my mom, she had tears in her eyes as she looked at me. I didn't like when my mom cried, I've seen enough in all those years.
" She's your wife now. You can't treat her like this, Hades." she whispered, cupping my cheek.
Mother didn't like the idea of my marriage with Sage, she even suggested to abduct Sage and get the work done. But she doesn't understand that being her husband gives me more power over her actions than anyone else.
" I'm sorry, mother. Please forgive me." I bowed my head down to my mother's tears.
I'm not sorry for beating the fuck out of my little wife. I'm sorry for my anger being the reason behind it. I'll make sure that next time she gets the beatings, it's because of the work she's here for and not my emotions.
" Sage." Mother said as Sage nearly jumped from her seat in fear.
" L-let me go." she whispered, pleading with my mother.
" We will but before that, you have to do something for us," I said, causing her to hold Leo's hand in fear.
I clenched my jaw, jealousy tearing up my insides when Leo placed his arm around her to support her trembling form.
" What?" she choked out.
" Get my brother out of prison." I smirked at her as the colors drained off her face.
" I'M NOT HELPING YOUR RAPIST BROTHER." She roared.
" Well too bad, you don't get to choose here." I glared at her.
" No." she stood her ground, not showing any signs of backing down.
That's the reason she just had to trip to hell just now and from her words, it seems like she wants another one.
" That's enough, both of you. Sage, you're here because we want you to get Sean out of the prison." Mother said.
" I want you to drop those fake charges from my son." Mother muttered as Sage shook her loud, sobbing loudly.
" No." she mumbled, hiding her face with her hands.
" Sage." I growled, taking a step towards her.
" I'm innocent, Hades please. Trust me." She sobs and there she goes with her brilliant acting.
" Then prove it. Prove it that you're innocent, Sage. There is nothing that proves your rape. Hospital records of rape injury- clear. Police records of rape- clear. Evidence of rape- clear. Photos or anything that proves rape- clear. People knowing about the rape- none except the Martinez and Princeton family. How is this fucking possible?" I screamed as she hid her face with her hands, crying loudly.
" How come no one in the entire town knows about your rape except your own family? How come there's no evidence of your rape? How come there's no hospital record of your rape, Sage? Because you were never raped."
She sat there ignoring my words, just crying to herself. Leo looked at me before he slowly pulled Sage's hands away from her face.
" Okay, we understand what you're saying. Now listen to me." Leo mumbles, taking her hands in his.
" Would you believe me if I told you that Shawn slapped a girl because her boyfriend was rude to him? She wasn't at fault but he slapped her to get back to her boyfriend. Will you believe me, Sage?" he mumbles.
Sage sobs, shaking her head slowly.
" Then why do you expect us to believe that our brother did something so low?" He whispers as she begins to cry loudly.
" Trust me, Leo. Please." she wails.
" Prove it, girl. Prove yourself innocent." Mother growls.
" Please." Sage sobs, looking away from us.
" Okay. It's alright if you need time to grasp things, Sage. We'll try this again tomorrow. Take her to your room, Hades." Mother mumbled, handing Sage a bunch of paper towels.
" Please. Please, just let me go." Sage screamed when I pulled her up, putting her on my shoulder.
" Please. Please, I won't tell anyone. Just lemme go." Sage wailed, hitting her fists on my back.
Ooh, feather massage.
" Call the doctor, Leo. People break beds on their wedding night and these two have broken each other's bones." Mother mutters, glancing at us.
I shook my head at their words before taking Sage upstairs. She kept wailing loudly with hiccups until I threw her on our bed. Closing the door securely, I took off my blazer looking at Sage.
She had wrapped the blanket around herself before curling into a ball. I don't know what she's trying to do here.
" Lemme go, Hades." She sobs.
" And where will you go?" I roll my eyes, sitting back on my armchair.
She peeks at me in between the blanket, before slowly pulling it down.
" Home," she whispers.
" You call that place home?" I scoffed.
A pout adored her face as she looked away from me, sobbing softly.
" Would you treat me the same if it was Giana instead of me?" she sobs.
A cruel smirk immediately crawled on my face at her words. This is the moment her tiny heart will be crushed into a million pieces if she's ever loved me.
" I will." I mumble as she looks at me with wide eyes.
" I will because Giana isn't my sister. She's my girlfriend."
I watched her with a smile on her face as her lips trembled, her button nose turned redder before she bursts out sobbing. Sage pulled the blanket over herself, hiding from me.
" Did you ever love me?" her muffled voice comes.
Y-NO!
I didn't love her. She was just a task.
" No. Why would a charming, rich mob boss fall for a stupid childish bitch like you unless he has something planned?" I chuckled
" What about your promises? What about your vows? What about each and every gentle kiss? What about the moments we've spent together?" she screams, thrashing inside the blanket.
I rolled my eyes at her acts. Stupid childish bitch.
" Look, we don't have a bond. There's nothing between me and you. You were a project, a project to get my brother out and I swear, I won't back off until it's done." I growled, clenching my fists.
" I'm never going to help you set him free," she screams.
" We'll see, Sage." I smile.
By the time I'm done with you my little baby, you'll be nothing but my puppet.
