MALIA'S P.O.V.

"What's your plan?" Dorothy asks while brushing her teeth.

"Why are you doing that here in the living room?" She just shrugged at me and continued brushing her teeth.

I sigh.

"I don't want to talk about it anymore, maybe it would be better to just forget about it," I told her, referring to what happened in the club.

"How about your part in the bidding?"

"They wired me the bill last night before I left the place." A deafening silence filled the room.

Dorothy went back to the bathroom, and when she was done, her face was all clean already.

"Well, that's great." She sat on the sofa across from mine and smiled at me. "By the way, I have a job for you."

Dorothy fills me with the information about the job she's talking about.

Dorothy is my best friend, we've been together for three years. I met her when I'm at my lowest and she helped me to get back on my feet.

I still remember how she helped me to bring my brother to the hospital when our parents abandoned us in the middle of the road.

I thought that he'd die there because he needed to be treated immediately but no one was helping us. I didn't know what to do so I cried until her car stopped in front of us.

We have a lot in common and we would always be for each other, especially during hard times. But unlike me, she's working on a corporate job. She's not desperate like me.

After telling me the info about the job, she excused herself to go to her room and when she returned, she handed me a sparkly elegant dress.

I bet it's branded.

"You'll wear this tomorrow."

The dress shines on every touch, it has a slit, enough to show my thick thighs.

"Are you lending me this?"

The job she told me was to be an entertainer at a private event. But there's no way that the organizer would spend a fortune to give us a beautiful dress like this.

"It's yours, I don't wear a style of that anyways." She shrugs.

Oh, Dorothy. We both know that you gave me this dress because you knew that I can't afford to buy one.

I wrap my arms around her and lean my head on her shoulder.

I fake a laugh as well.

This private event was held to honor a business tycoon named Marcus Fontanelle. From what I heard, he was a businessman for only five years but he rose to the top the moment he stepped into society.

There are a lot of señoras here who talk about this man. Praising him for his good looks and charismatic behavior, and of course, his brain.

They say he's kind. I should try my luck later when I get the opportunity to see him.

Some young bachelors that I know of are easy to get drunk with, just a few whispers and they're done. When that happens, I'll snatch a few dollars from their wallet and leave. Ah, I need to make sure that he doesn't have a gun.

My eyes search for the man they're talking about, and Damn.

I roam my eyes to divert my attention but I flinch when I see an intense glare directed at me.

"Is there anything wrong?" The old man asks.

And the old man laughed. I can see the desire in his eyes.

I excused myself and went straight to the powder room.

"It's locked?"

This is the only powder room here on the first floor, and the other one's on the third floor already. I sigh. "What an unlucky day."

Nevertheless. I still found myself walking to the third floor.

"They said it's this way…"

I was walking through a hallway. It's quiet here, and the noise from the first door doesn't reach the place.

I want to stay here for a while…

I head towards the powder room.

I was about to open it when I heard a couple of voices.

"Ah! Right there." My eyes widened. Those are from two different ladies' voices.

What!? Don't tell me the girls are doing it there!?

My suspicion was answered when one of them yelled.

I just wanted to loosen up and breathe for a few minutes. I don't want to experience this now.

Should I wait until they're done? I don't know if there's another powder room here, and I don't want to walk any further while wearing these high heels and body con dress that Dorothy gave me.

I jump when the door opens.

A lady in her black dress went out. We had the same reaction when she saw me.

She left the place and I'm still not over with the first lady when another girl went out.

She doesn't look shocked just like the first girl, she even fixes her dress as she told me, "You can go in now." She smiled at me and left.

I shut my eyes. As if I still want to go in there.

I shook my head ready to leave the place but when I opened it, my eyes widened for the ninth time today.

The pair of eyes that's the reason why I'm uncomfortable is looking at me.

He's leaning on the door edge, his eyes didn't change, they're still intense.
