I sat on the and glanched at her once before turning my head in my cell phone.
She quickly cut some veggies, It was a second later that I got a call from my mate about the race tracks. Somone had reported, and there was possibility the cops would show up tonight or tomorrow. I had to call two of the hosts to call off the events and that we were moving to a new ground soon. I couldn't risk the cops finding out, I had put a lot of my own money in that.
She set the bowl and plate of toasts on the table in front of us. As I hung up and sat in front of her.
"How are you feeling? " I ask as she took my bowl of soup and glance at me once, "I am okay."
"Hey, You- you said You had a place?" I looked at her and nodded. "I do. I can make arrangements. Have it cleaned for you" she stopped me " Um- What's the rent?"
"How much are you willing to give?" she paused for second. "Um-" She gave me a number and I honestly didn't need the money. That place was just sitting there with the bills paid for a while But I knew she might feel uncomfortable if I asked her to not give me anything.
I nodded. "You don't have to give me that much"
"You can give what you find okay, I own it. So, It fine if you give half of what you are paying now" She shook her hands. "Wait? You live there?" He chuckled.
"No, I live five minutes away, in another apartment. I just kept it as a back up" She made an 'oh' face understanding. "When Can I get the keys then? I'll make the initial payment tomorrow"
"You don't have to. At least for the next month. I'll have to clean for you by tomorrow. So you can come in the evening. Is that okay for you?"
"You don't have to send anyone for cleaning. I can do it myself"
"Don't worry about that. You just have to let me know if any lights don't work, I'll have em fixed" she nodded.
"Um- Just give me your info then, I can transfer money" I nodded. " Ya, I'll give it later"
We didn't talk much after that, she said a quick thank you as I was about to leave. "Call me if you need anything" "Sure," she said as I left
I didn't wanna take her money. I just wanted to help her, somehow I saw her as such a innocent timid girl.
She looked around the apartment in awe as I watch her intendlly.
"Thank you, so much. I'll try to search for a place-"
She didn't like it ?
"You don't like it here?" She opened her mouth and shook her head in hurry to prove me wrong. "NO-No. It's just. It's too big, Its your house" I laugh. "I don't stay here Rose. It's yours. So If you don't like it here, let me know. I'll get you another place"
"No, It's not that, It's just, I feel like I not paying you as much" I shook my head. "If you don't like it here just let me know."
She bites her lip as the she looked at the men I brought take her stuff to the bedroom.
"Are you going to the club today?" She nodded. I get a text fromMax informing he found another ground and will let the host know. I text him the details as she replied
"Ya, I'll leave by seven" I stared at my phone for second to text before looking up and answering her. "I'll drop you. Come down at seven I'll wait for you"
"Oh-You don't have to" I glanced at her brown eyes and my eyes shifted behind her to my men who stood there. "You can leave now" I didn't want her to be in presence of other men. At least not for now. And showing them my nicer side wasn't really my thing.
She licked her lips staring at me as I watched them leave. I look at my phone as Max asked me to drop off some things and then looked at her, "I am going there anyway, I gotta go. Call me if you need anything" She nodded.
"Thanks, Bye," she said as I nodded walking out.
I sigh leaving the building and heading to work.
