"What happened?" Sydney was asked as she entered his office.
"Nothing happened I just had an altercation but everything is fine," she said.
"Oh Sydney, you don't have to always let him get under your skin, I can talk to him for you," he asked her.
"No, no don't say that don't do that, I would love to have our relationship on hold right now is nothing to have you there.?
" Let's just let things be please" she begged Paxton embraced her and she felt the warmth of his arm around her.
He couldn't ask her anything about work for now because she was hysterical and she looked like she would need a rest.
The entire office was quiet because some people who were around had witnessed what had happened.
Most of them knew that she was not going to be sent home or fired because it was pretty obvious that the two brothers were in love with her and could do anything to keep Sydney around.
"Would you want a day or two off? You've been working yourself out too much" Paxton asked but she shook her head no.
Just as they were still in that position the door to his office entered revealing Lydia who had come for a little get-together since the other day was not so good.
"Why does it seem like every time I come here there has got to be an altercation between my two cousins?" Lydia asked and Sydney forced herself to go laugh.
"Nah don't say that, there is nothing wrong what did you bring for us?" Sydney tried to sound nice and friendly but her voice failed her.
"You don't have to force a smile honey we all have a relationship quarrel now and then and trust me Jaxton would come around" Lydia tried to console her while Paxyon stood there clenching and u clenching his hands.
He felt if he had Sydney he would treat her better and wouldn't make her cry even for a day but now she loved Jaxton irrespective of what he did or said to her.
"Can I take the day off?", she finally asked.
" Yes, you can we can talk about work when your head isn't too crowded okay?" Patton gave her permission and within minutes she had packed her things to leave.
it was still just a few minutes to break so she used that as an opportunity as everyone was focused on having a bite of something before they continued their job to rush to her car.
Sydney had been feeling down all day, ever since she and her boyfriend Jaxton had a big argument just a few hours ago.
They had been fighting about something stupid and it had turned into a full-blown lover's quarrel, and now Sydney was feeling low.
She didn't even want to leave her bed, but she had to go to work to avoid calling in sick.
She had no idea how to make things right with Jaxton, and it was weighing heavily on her mind.
Lydia, Jaxton's cousin, had noticed how down Sydney was feeling and had tried to make her feel better.
She had invited her over to her place after work for a girls' night in.
She had prepared Sydney's favourite snacks and had put on a funny movie to lift her spirits.
Sydney was grateful for the gesture, but she couldn't help but feel like a burden.
She couldn't stop thinking about Jaxton and how much she missed him.
Towards the end of the day, she thought to herself what exactly it was that she wanted because one minute she was head over heels for him and the next she was second guessing their relationship.
After work the next day she decided to go see Lydia's place as she had been invited by the little girls' evening.
"Hey you made it, I didn't think you'd come," Lydia said ad she watched Sydney look around for a while before she answered.
"Why would I stand you up, you invited me hence I am her or ain't you happy you are seeing me here with you?" she asked.
"Of course, I am happy who wouldn't be happy to see you, I mean you seem to be great company," Lydia said with a huge smile on her face.
"Ain't you the goofy one?" Sydney said.
She had not even stayed here for an hour but she was already having a good time with Lydia, the kid was fun to be around and she knew how she could make sure everything was funky.
"So what are we going to do now?" Sydney asked.
"Well maybe we start by talking about your day and then next we watch some movies and then have some popcorn too"
"Hmmm, seems you have all of these figured out already? If you were coming over to my place trust me I wouldn't have anything to do with you or say because I would just have my head crowded with work" Sydney confessed and they began to laugh.
"Oh is that so? I am happy I came into your life so I would not only change your perception but I would make sure you are the life of the party and see the beautiful people around you and also with everybody falling in love" Lydia said in a dreamy state.
"You can't be a serious sweetheart, you are just something else, with a lot of thought in mind"
They had a fulfilling evening not until when she finally had to leave to go back to her house it was 9 PM.
"I thought you were spending the night" Lydia pouted.
"Nah, you can't possibly think that I have things to do and trust me I am in love with the moment we spent just now and trust me when I say everything and someday we would have a girl's hang out" she promised.
"I'll hold you to your promise Sydney" they hugged and Sydney left.
