Chapter 33

I checked the time on my phone,it was 3PM,I have been studying for the past three and half hours,I stood up from my chair and stretched my body,my butt ached like hell.

I haven't let anything distract me,I made my studies my number one priority and Lucas tried every means to use that as an opportunity to get back into my life.

My room door bursted open as Maya walked in,"There's something called Knocking,only armed robbers don't obey that rule."

I earned an eyeroll from her,"So you aren't even ready yet?"She asked as she observed me,I was dressed in my pajamas.

Yeah,you are wondering why I'm in my PJ's,I haven't taken my bath since morning,I did my house chores and dived into my books and I got lost of time,"Ready for what?"I questioned, obviously confused.

"Don't tell me you have forgotten,your books won't remember anything."She walked past me towards my wardrobe.

"Madam,what are you talking about?,is there a family event today?"I followed her to my wardrobe.

"If you want to borrow my clothes,you need to ask."

She face palmed herself and shook her head,"You have a date with Jace today."She said and I gasped in shock.

"OMG!!!,I totally forgot about the date,it's after 3 and I'm not ready yet,I don't know or have what to wear and my hair is a complete mess."I panicked as I ran to the mirror to check my hair.

"Sheeesh,calm down,you have alot of clothes in your wardrobe and your hair isn't dirty right?"

"Yeah,I have clothes but I don't have outfits for a dinner date and nope,my hair isn't dirty,I washed it yesterday."I replied hastily as I scanned through my wardrobe.

"You are speaking Spanish biko,the clothes you have is enough to open boutique."

"Stop acting as if mummy doesn't buy your clothes,you are the last born for God's sake."

"Won't you take your bath first?"She asked.

"No,let's look for what I will wear first."I suggested.

"Okay,what about this crop top and black button up skirt?."

"No,it's too......I don't like it abeg"I took the clothes and threw them on my bed.

"What about this one?."I picked a pink ribbed tee and jeans.

"It's too casual,it's a dinner date not a movie date."

"What about this ruffled shirt and jeans?"

"Nooooooo!!!"

"Jumpsuit?"

"Nope."

"Denim dress?"

"No."

"This polka dot dress looks okay."

"No,it's not,we need something that has the mixture of sexy,casual, comfortable and modest."Maya stated.

"This one?."

"Nah."

Our yes/no session was interrupted by the doorbell,my eyes widened,Maya held my hands unconsciously very tight,we both screamed,"He's here!!"

"Okay,calm down,go and check if he's actually the one"I pursued Maya out of the room.

I prayed silently because I wasn't ready at all,few minutes later,Maya walked in,"It's just Kim."

"Hey girls!!!"

I turned to see Kimberly in a brown long sleeve stretch knit ruched dress matched with transparent heels,her hair was styled in a ponytail packing gel,she looked stunning.

I walked up to her and hugged her,"Thank Goodness,you are here,wow,you look beautiful,are you going somewhere?"I complimented her and asked out of curiosity at the same time.

"Our brother is in his room in case....."Kim cut Maya short.

"I'm actually here for Michelle,I heard you are having a date with Jace so I decided to help since you know....."She couldn't complete her statement.

Even though,she didn't complete her statement,I knew the remaining words,if things had been the way they were few months ago,Olivia would be here assisting me.

"And I'm having a date with Mason."She blushed.

"Awwwn...."

"Ooooooo...."

"Stop it,joor"She giggled.

"So it's gonna be a double date?"I scrunched my brows.

"Oh,no,you don't have to worry,our date are in different location so you and Jace will have some alone time."She assured me.

"And oh,yeah,we are having a sleepover at Jace's house after our date, including Leo"She added.

She observed me,"Why are you still dressed in your PJ's,it's after 3."

"She hasn't taken her bath since morning..."Maya answered for me.

"Have you picked an outfit?"She asked us.

"Nop."We replied her.

"Oh,well,that won't be a problem."She walked to my wardrobe to pick an outfit.

"I think a short comfy gown,will be okay right?"I nodded in response.

"What about this floral dress?"Maya showed me.

"Nah."

"This one?"Kim gave me a very strappy short v-neck dress.

"It's too short."

Maya brought a satin short gown,"I'm not a fan of satin materials."I told her before she could suggest it.

"Oh,well,I guess it's mine now"She smiled as she kept it somewhere safe.

"This isn't an opportunity to steal my clothes."I said playfully.

"I'm going to tell mummy to stop buying you clothes because you don't appreciate them."Maya frowned.

"Whatever."

"Do you like this?"Kim gave me a black Pico tied knot bust ruffled dress.

"Nop,too exposing."

"Ugh!!!,just pick an outfit already,this isn't prom,it's just a date."Maya groaned.

"Let her be,she needs to look her best."

"What about.....this one?"Kim showed me an horse blood flare cuff waist tie dress that I wore upper Christmas.

"I don't like it,it's produces heat."

"I will take that."Maya took the dress away from Kim and kept with the other gown,she took earlier.

"So you need something airy?"She asked and I nodded.

"Something airy...... airy....."She scanned through like a professional stylist.

I must say,Kim has a nice fashion sense,she finally brought out a light pink ruffle chiffon dress,I smiled at the sight,"I love that smile."Kim said.

"I love it!!"I screamed in happiness.

"Finally!!"



"Now,that we have picked the outfit,let me take a shower."

"Take a bath please."Maya shouted as I entered the bathroom.

I came out few minutes later,it was 4:15PM when I checked the time,I quickly put on my dress and paired it with silver heels,"What are we gonna do about my hair?"I asked them.

"You wanna wear a wig?."

"No,it will take time to weave my hair into cornrows."I stated.

"Okay,do you have Eco styling gel?."Kim asked.

"Yes,I do."I handed her the container.

"Okay,sit."I sat in front of my vanity table and she styled my hair into a pineapple updo.

"Your hair is so long."She complimented.

"Thank you and you are nice stylist."I passed her a smile at her reflection in the mirror.

I wore my earrings,"Aren't you going to apply makeup?"Maya inquired.

"It's just a date not my graduation."I rolled my eyes.

"Atleast,apply lipgloss and mascara."She suggested.

"Please,apply a nice flavour,so that you know....."Maya wiggled her eyebrows at me.

"Spoilt child."I cursed playfully.

I grabbed my phone,ready to call Jace but fortunately,I heard his voice from downstairs with my mum. We all went downstairs,my mum was the first to notice me,"Are you going for a wedding or any occasion?, because you are looking beautiful."She complimented me.

I blushed,"Thanks mummy,I'm not going for any wedding,Jace,Nero,Kim and I are going out."I explained to her.

Jace,the whole time was staring at me,his stare made me nervous.

She turned to Jace,"Kamsi,I hope this outing is normal because the way you guys are dressed......"

"Yes,ma,it's just the usual outing we always have,it's just the outfits that are different."He came up with a lie to assure her.

"Okay,then,Maya aren't going out with them."

"Mummy,I will go and see Jessy later."Maya replied her before walking away.

"Mum,we are leaving now."Mason told my mum.

"Okay,I will soon go to work,see you tomorrow."She stood up and left for her room.

As we stepped out,the person we saw outside,standing at the door changed our facial expression,Jace and Mason were furious,they didn't utter a word to him,they just walked off to the car,Kim stood there awkwardly before walking away,leaving only him and I,I looked at my brother,he had this look that I just walk away as well,I didn't want to keep them waiting so I decided to walk away.

"Michelle...."He pulled me back.

"Go away,I have somewhere to be,right now,you came at the wrong time."I replied him without looking back.

"I just wanted......"

"Lucas,I said leave,what do you want from me?!We aren't friends,the only business you and I had,I ended it,so leave me the fuck alone."I walked away,ignoring his presence and not waiting to hear his response.

We got into Jace's car,Kim and I sat in the backseat while Mason sat in the passenger's seat.

"So where am I dropping you guys?."Jace asked as his eyes were on the road.

"Just take us to the mall,we will handle the rest."Mason replied him.

Kim was going through her phone and my eyes were viewing different places in the city.

My brother wore a casual outfit,I guess their date was different from ours,he was in white palm angels top and Jean trousers, compared to Jace who was in black long sleeve and Jean trousers.

My phone rang in my bag,I brought it out to check who it was but it was Lucas,I ignored it and shove it into my bag,I saw that he sent a message,I rolled my eyes in frustration.

What does he want?!.

I brought out my phone and kept it in flight mode so he won't disturb,I could see Jace staring at me in concern through the rearview mirror.

We dropped them off in the mall,"Byeeeee,have a nice date!."Kim said before walking away with Mason,her hands merged with his.

"You too!"I shouted as I came out of the backseat,she turned and smiled at me before waving goodbye.

I entered the passenger's seat and there was an awkward silence,"You look beautiful,you look just like a princess even though you don't have a crown on your head."He laughed before driving out of the mall.

We drove into his father's compound,"Why are we here?"

"Have you forgotten,our date is holding here,I'm not taking you to any fancy restaurant."He came out of the car and opened my door for me,he took my hands in his.

"Welcome,back,small oga."The young gateman greeted him.

"Silas,I have told you to stop calling me small oga,you can call me Kamsi or Kam."He corrected.

Silas only nodded his head and entered his house,we walked to the door entrance,he opened the door and the servants came greeting,a beautiful young girl of my age walked up to us,"Welcome,back."She greeted without a smile on her face.

"Is everything ready?."Jace asked.

"Yes."

"My parents?."

"Your dad just left for a business trip and madam went for a wedding."

"Good."

We came out of the house and went into the garden,I could see from afar,a round glass table set with different food and drinks on it. I walked slowly towards it,"Am I having dinner with a prince?."I asked as I stood still staring.

"No but I'm having dinner with a princess."He smiled and gestured for me to take a seat.

I sat down and looked at the variety of food on the table,there was cakes,pancakes,chivita exotic drinks,wine,1litre Coke and Fanta,there was fried rice and jollof rice in a cooler,pizza and then,he ordered Chinese food.

"Ummm... who's gonna finish all these food?."I asked out of curiosity.

He scratched his head,"I didn't know the kind of food you prefer so I did this."

"Let's just enjoy ourselves before the second phase of our date."He stated as a maid served him a plate of rice.

"There's a second phase?!."

"Yeah,we are going shopping."

"For what?."

"Muffin,let's just eat."

I kept quiet,the beautiful maid served me fried rice in a plate and poured wine into my glass cup,I felt like a princess,no one ever treats me this way,well,they did,when I woke up from my coma,I smiled at how grateful I was to that I could be with the one I love till this day.

"What's the reason behind your smile?."

"I'm just glad that you are mine."I said briefly.

"Well, I'm yours and I'm not leaving anytime soon."

"Speaking of leaving,which University are you thinking of gaining admission into?."I asked curiously.

"Table manners."

"We are on a date."I defended.

"Must you have an explanation for everything?."He rolled his eyes.

"Just answer the question,babe."

He took a while before answering,"I'm not schooling in Nigeria."He mumbled.

My face dropped,the appetite I had for all the appetizing food disappeared,"Why?."

"My dad wants me to study in the US."He said in a bitter tone.

"You don't seem happy with that development."I tried to compose myself even though I was sad over the fact that we have a few months before he will leave for good.

"Well,I'm not,I never agreed to it but unfortunately my parents both agreed."

"Your mum knows about this?."

"Ofcourse,according to her,it's for my own good and I will meet my mum's side of the family over there."

"I'm sorry,I didn't have the courage to tell you that I will be leaving soon."He stated.

"So you knew about this,the whole time and you kept me in the dark,why?."I asked,my anger was rising.

"Babe,I'm sorry."

"Sorry doesn't fix this."

"You are gonna leave in a few months and we just started dating,it took me long enough to have you and now,you are leaving!."I spoke angrily.

"But it's my fault,if I had my way,I won't go."He defended.

"Well,do something,it's your life,isn't it?!."

"But you said,I should obey my parents,I'm following your advice."

"Forget it,all the males in my life always leaves,my dad,my elder brother,Lucas and now you,who's next?!, probably Nero."I stood up and walked out angrily.

"Muffin!."

"Babe....!!"

"Wait please."He grabbed my arm and made me face him.

"I know I'm going to leave soon,so what?,we still have a few months to enjoy this relationship and even if I leave,long distance relationship might work out for us...."He said.

"You don't get it,do you?"I asked him.

"This isn't the kind of distance between Lagos and Delta,you are going to be in another continent,the other side of the world,how do you expect me to cope with that?."I paused.

"There are going see beautiful girls over there you might fall in love with,I know the kind of person you are,Jason."I added.

"So you don't believe I have changed,huh?."

"Long distance relationship won't work for us."I clarified.

"Then,let's just enjoy the few months we have together."

"Till you leave...."I completed his statement in a sad tone.

"Who knows I might be able to convince my parents."He passed me comforting smile.

"Okay,babe."

He gave me a kiss on my head,"You wanna go back to our dinner?."

"Nah,I will pass,it's too fancy."I stated.

He laughed,"You don't like being treated like a princess,huh?,well,let's go to the mall to have another date."He grabbed my hands and walked out of his house.
