Chapter 2- Sexy Wrists

"Another drink please!" I bellowed at the bartender after my hundredth shot.

I was definitely drunk but I didn't care one bit. I had friends that could take me home, and if they ditched me then I'll simply just die trying to drive home drunk.

We all have to die right?

"Are you sure you need another drink?" A foreign voice from beside me asked, and I had to blink a couple times to focus my gaze on him.

He looked like he was around my age and he was certainly hot and good-looking. Maybe it was the liquor, but I couldn't help the lopsided grin that spread across my face.

"I'm a big girl. I can take a drink" I slurred in an attempt to sound normal but failed miserably. Yet despite my state, he managed to smile sweetly at me.

"You've got quite the spirit don't you?" He asked with a hint of excitement in his voice.

"Yep. I'm a rebel so you better stay away."

"Maybe I like rebellious" He mumbled suggestively in a lower tone, causing me to raise an eyebrow at him.

"You don't know me" I laughed at nothing in particular.

I had no idea why I laughed because what I said wasn't funny, but in my drunken state everything felt like swirly colours and SpongeBob land.

Can I say SpongeBob land? Wouldn't it more likely be SpongeBob water?

"But I would like to," he argued, cutting off my ridiculous thoughts. I eyed him as carefully as I could, analysing if I could trust him or not. My fuzzy mind couldn't draw a proper conclusion, yet I felt oddly comfortable with him.

The bartender returned with water instead of my drink, and I shot him a death glare in questioning. He raised his hands in surrender before pointing to the stranger beside me as an answer.

He must've managed to change my order without me knowing.

Is it so bad for a girl to get wasted on a Friday night?

"What's your name?" he asked when I didn't say anything. I searched my mind for the name I was given at birth, but there was only one name in my head.

"SpongeBob" I mumbled as I felt my eyes droop. He chuckled lightly before catching me as I almost fell from the stool.

"Alright SpongeBob, let's get you home."

I let him take me to his car since I had no clue where mine was, and I had no idea why I just saw a monkey in a wig walk past me.

"Hey what's your name?" I asked him even though I knew I was about to pass out.

"Sheldon."

I was about to answer, but I felt water splashing on my face.

"Hey stop throwing water on me Sheldon!" I cried when I only felt more water splashing against my face.

"Stop!" I protested as I continued to wiggle.

"Wake up bitch!" I heard a voice that was definitely not Sheldon shout.

My eyes shot open, where I noticed that I was wrapped up in my sheets in my bed at my house. What a dramatic turn of events.

It was just a dream.

I was both relieved and disappointed. I was relieved because I was communicating with a ghost, and I was disappointed because reliving the first time I met Sheldon was low-key nice.

"Are you awake?" A woman's voice asked, causing me to whip my head towards the side of the bed.

I was shocked, impressed, angry and terrified at once. I had no idea how this stranger could've possibly made her way inside my house without me or Prince, my dog, noticing.

I was furious because she had no right to be in my house, yet again waking me too. And I was scared because I didn't know what potential danger I might be in.

She had a spray bottle filled with water- the one I used for Prince- in her hand and a glare on her face. I mimicked her glare since she had no right to be annoyed when she was the one in MY house.

"Who the f**k are you?" I spat, sitting up in my bed.

Instead of answering, she just flashed her left hand across my face, showcasing a huge diamond on her left hand. I gave her an unimpressed look, since I had no clue why she thought that answered my question.

"I said who are you and what the hell are you doing in my f**king house!?" I demanded with a bit more roughness in my voice. This time I got up to stand in front of her, but I kept my distance since I didn't know if she was dangerous.

"I was Sheldon's fiancé, you little whoring bitch!" She screeched, almost making me flinch. Almost.

I was a bit taken aback and I took a chance to actually evaluate her. She was pretty and hot and I don't compare myself to other women but I couldn't contain my smirk.

"And what are you doing in my house?" I asked, crossing my arms over my chest. She didn't expect my calm demeanour it seemed, since she became as red as a tomato.

It was taking everything in me not to hold her blonde hair and throw her silicone ass out the window, but I really wanted to know why she felt the pressing need to break into my house.

"You're supposed to be in jail for killing my Sheldon!" She shouted. "You're a crazy murderer"

"First of all get the f**k out of my house! Second of all, get out now before I murder you too" I gritted out, feeling terribly annoyed by her accusing me of something so absurd.

I knew all fingers pointed at me, but she had the audacity to come into my house and talk to me like that. If we were in the streets and she saw me, then maybe I wouldn't have been as angry at her accusation. But she had some nerve.

"Ha! You admit it! And I have it all on recording. You are going to rot in jail" She yelled as she waved a phone in front of my face.

I was utterly unimpressed by her little set up, so without thinking, I grabbed it from her and sailed it across the room. It connected with the wall and shattered to pieces, leaving her mouth agaped but my stoic expression stayed put.

"Now get out before I call the cops and report you for breaking and entering" I growled, but she made no move to leave.

"You aren't on the cop's innocent page anyways. So you can go right ahead but I promise I will get you for what you did to him!"

"Get. Out" I bit one last time with my eyes and voice lowered. My fists were clenched at my sides since I didn't trust what I would do if I got them on her.

She seemingly adhered to my warning and started to back out. I followed her all the way to the door to ensure that she was actually gone, but I noticed that the locks weren't broken or damaged.

I knew I didn't leave my door open, so that either meant she had great lock picking skills, or access to one of my keys.

Whatever it was, I didn't like it.

That meant she could find her way inside my house whenever she wanted to, and I obviously wasn't her favourite person. She could actually be the killer for all I know.

There was only one thing I could do. I had to take it to the authorities.

"Ms Leir. How can I help you? " Pam, the officer that performed the initial arrest, asked with a hint of surprise to see me.

"I've come to report a burglary. You people have it so laid out that I'm the killer right? Well guess who I just woke up to in my house? Sheldon's good for nothing supposingly fiancé!" I complained, still not over the fact that she had the gauge to enter my house.

It's the audacity for me.

"Who Mia?" Pam asked in shock, which only shocked me further.

Before I could answer, I felt a presence behind me and I turned to see that it was Mr Detective himself. It felt slightly exciting to see him again, but I was very much still pissed.

"Cianna? " He questioned in confusion before a small smirk appeared on his lips. "You really want to be locked up don't you? " On any other day, I would've laughed or played along to our inside joke, but I was in no mood.

"I don't feel safe in my own house. Mia was in my house this morning, and I demand you do something about it. She could be the killer for all I know" I filled him in quickly, and he looked to Pam and Mr Grumpy for clarification.

"Apparently Tristan, Ms Walters was in her house this morning when she woke up. We don't know the full situation as yet" Pam said.

"What more is there to know! " I gaped in shock. "Have you guys even brought her in for questioning yet? "

"We have talked to Ms Walters. She is a suspect but it's highly unlikely" The detective, whose name I've just learnt is Tristan, added, causing me to gasp in disbelief.

"So she just up and told you that she didn't kill him and you believed her? I did too and I'm still the killer in most of your heads"

"Ms Walters and Mr Myers were engaged. In most instances, if she had the motive to kill him, she would've done so after they are married. As far as we see it, there is nothing she would have gained from killing him now," Tristan spoke clearly as if it was the most obvious thing in the world, while I just gaped at him even longer.

"Oorrr... " I dragged with a hint of sarcasm in my tone. "She was with him even longer than I was, and when she found out about the affair, she killed him and wants me next. Isn't it kinda coincidental that after I broke up with him OVER TEXT that he just died? A phone that could've been accessed by, oh I don't know, A LOVER!"

"I have thought of that, but Mia testified that she was with Sheldon for only two months and she was fully aware of your relationship. He had um-" he stopped, looking away as if he didn't want to continue.

"He had what?" I urged, already impatient with everything.

"He had planned to break things off with you and marry her freely. She assumed that after you found out all this, you killed him"

"That bitch!" I shouted. She had this all painted on me.

"Language Ms Leir" Pam warned, causing me to roll my eyes.

"You see that this is bullshit right?" I asked, looking at the three of them.

"I can't pinpoint a clear conclusion just yet, but-"

"Are we forgetting why I am even here? " I cut him off by asking. " She. Broke. Into. My. House!"

"How did she even get in? " Pam asked mostly to herself.

"She must've used Sheldon's key. He had a key to my house and I had a key to his apartment. Somehow she must've -" I stopped when I noticed how Pam and Mr grumpy were looking at me.

"What? " I questioned.

"You said you have a key to his apartment? " Tristan asked with an eyebrow raised, so I raised one of my own.

"Had. I threw it out the window the night I saw him kissing that girl. "

"Are you sure? " He probed, and I had to really take a double take at the edge in his voice.

"Are you serious right now? "

"We did find your fingerprints on his doorknob Ms Leir. This is not looking too good for you. " Officer Pam stated and that's when I had enough.

"You know what! I'll go find officers that actually want to help. But if I become another dead body for your statistics, I hope this moment will sit on your consciences for the rest of your corrupt lives! " And with that, I stomped my way out of the office.

How could they? I was literally reporting a CRIME and all they were doing was pinpointing me as the killer again. My anger rose as I made my way to my car and opened it, but I heard heavy footsteps coming towards me.

"Cianna!" A voice I've come to know called, but instead of turning around, I hopped into my car and started it. However, to my demise, he appeared at my window before I could drive off.

"Cianna, wait. " He breathed rapidly as he leaned against my door. "I'm sorry if I made you feel terrible back there. I have no sure way of knowing what really happened that night, but I shouldn't have accused you like that"

"Apology accepted. Now I would really like to go" I stated quietly, actually hurt about the whole situation.

"I want to help. Mia is still as much as a suspect as you are, and I don't think it's safe that she has access to your house. Do you have anyone that you can stay with until we sort this out?" He asked and I nodded.

"I can stay with my dad. He lives not too far away from me. For now, I would appreciate if you could get that key"

"I will have a talk with Ms Walters and look deeper into the issue. Until then, you just stay with your dad. " He advised in a somewhat professional but concerned tone.

"Okay. This is my father's address. Let me know when you find anything " I scribbled mine and my dad's address on a paper before handing it to him.

"I will. " He assured as he backed away from the window. "Oh and Cianna" He called while I reversed from the parking space. He had a stupid smirk on his face as he waved at me.

"Keep those wrists safe for me."
