Epilogue
Bangkok Thailand.
I couldn’t believe I was actually looking at the beautiful city, just like I dreamed. The view from where I stood in my hotel room was breathtakingly marvelous.
I could see the tiny people as they ventured to their various places of business or leisure, and hundreds of vehicles as they roamed the city.
The gleaming rays of sunlight burning through the body length window didn’t even phase me. I loved the warmth that it gave my every nerve, and the wonderful feeling of tranquility of it all. It was everything I imagined, and I was glad I got the chance to live it with the man of my dreams.
I remember around two years ago when Tristan and I went on our first date, I told him that it had always been a dream of mine to visit this beautiful place. Turns out, he didn’t forget.
A week ago, I was having a bad day and one of my clients really contributed to my mood. Out of nowhere, that very wonderful man came home and surprised me with the tickets. And to think, I wasn't just having a bad day, but I was having a bad week too.
Tristan was being secretive and sneaky, and I thought he had been cheating on me. Shame on me to even think that he'd do such a thing, when in reality, he was only getting the surprise ready.
I went down to make dinner with my swollen feet and face, and I didn’t even know that he was home until I went into the kitchen and saw the living epitome of romance. Just like the first time I went to his house, the most beautiful dinner was seated on the table, with the room dimly lit and the aura majestic.
Like always, I'd known right then and there that he was indeed the man for me. Since I moved him with him a little over six months ago, I have been the happiest woman alive. He was everything I wanted in a man and more, and I sometimes wonder how I ever got so lucky.
"Thinking about me?"
I beamed brighter as the voice of the man I loved filled my ears, as he wrapped his hands around my waist and rested them on my swollen tummy. I leant into him with an appreciative groan as I inclined my head to give him a kiss.
"How'd you know?" I mumbled with a smile as I turned in his arms. His radiant smile and love filled eyes warmed me from the core as I tip toes to capture his lips in mine yet again.
"I had a feeling"
"Well you know what I'm feeling?" I plopped my finger on my chin in a thoughtful gesture with a playful smile on my lips.
Tristan mimicked my gesture with a teasing smirk of his own. "Let me guess. Ice cream and say...ketchup?" I crinkled my nose at the mixture, shaking my head swiftly at his words.
"No you joker!" I laughed. "I was going to say take one last drive through this beautiful city".
He shrugged with his own rumble of laughter. "Can you blame me? You have the weirdest cravings"
"Whatever" I wriggled from his grasp to get my shoes. "Now that you mention it, I actually feel like I could eat some ice-cream with um...pancakes. Yes that's it"
"Sweetheart, it's two in the afternoon. Where are we going to find pancak-" He paused when I shot him my famous pout. It always melted him and I knew it, hence why I always took advantage of it.
He sighed as he sat in front of me and grabbed my sneakers that I had been trying to get on my feet for the past thirty seconds.
"Okay we'll search through all of Bangkok to see if a restaurant happens to have pancakes on their afternoon menu"
"That is why I love you" I beamed at the thought as I plopped my other foot in his hands. I was only six months into my pregnancy, but I couldn’t reach my feet for the life of me.
Tristan found it 'cute' when I tried to do it on my own and sometimes he would stand at the door and watch me with a smile on his face. But other times, like now, he would help me.
He was enjoying this pregnancy way more than I was, that was for sure. When I missed my period six months ago, at first I was a bit scared. I was only 24, and even though I had my career, the man of my dreams and all my goals well set into motion, I was frightened by it. However, when I told Tristan, he had been the happiest.
He treated me like a 'princess', he babied me and he would always buy unnecessary things for me. By then, it had only been a few weeks since we moved in together. So I think the baby had great timing.
However, after a while, it got a bit much for me. With Emily, Jessica, my mom and Tristan treating me a delicate flower, I took control of my life again. I did what I wanted to in the most careful way possible, but I saw no need to be on bed rest. I wasn’t sick or had a condition, I was only pregnant.
But most of all, it was Tristan who made this whole pregnancy a blast. I didn’t like it 90% of the time, but he made it bearable with his endless love and support.
"So I was thinking..." I trailed as we walked to the elevator. "If the baby is a boy, I would like him to be a junior." I bit my lip nervously as I met his eyes. He looked shocked by my suggestion, but happy anyways.
"You mean, give him my name?" I nodded, and I couldn’t contain my smile when I saw his very own lighting up his face. "I'd love that!"
"Good. Because I can't think of another name to give my baby boy...If it is a boy of course" I added quickly. I wasn’t good at this surprise thing, and even though I wasn’t a hundred percent sure, I had a feeling it was a boy.
He was determined not to know the gender of the baby until my baby shower that all my female friends had been planning, and I thought it would've been a fun idea too.
So, we had the doctor tell Emily and my mom the gender of the baby while they planned the shower. However, I went to the mall with Emily the other day, and she was eying a blue baby bag, and I had my theory since then about the gender. I didn’t want to ruin it for Tristan though.
Luckily, he didn’t pick up on my slip up.
"And if it's a girl?"
I pursed my lips in thought. "I haven’t thought about it. You can though"
He beamed as the elevator door pinged open, and I set out to have my final wonderful day in Thailand with Tristan.
Though we were only here for five days, I had the best time of my life. The fact that I was confined by this pregnancy didn’t make it less fun either. If anything, it made it more enjoyable. I was bummed that we had to go home tomorrow, but I was glad to say that I had a fulfilling vacation.
We spent the day together doing everything that is there to do in the town, and I actually managed to get my pancakes and ice-cream after Tristan explained to the workers of a certain restaurant that I had 'weird cravings'.
They then made it their duty to get some batter from breakfast, so that I could get my pancakes. The people were so great here, and that made me love the experience even more.
We visited a few more places in the city and bought tons of souvenirs in the span of only three hours. By the time we went back to the hotel, it was almost six in the evening.
Final day? Success.
I had been in our room for the past two hours, after taking a nap immediately after we came back to our suite. It had been a long but fulfilling day, and I was ready to curl up in bed, order room service and watch movies with Tristan all night.
But instead, he walked in our room at exactly 8:00 p.m with a dress bag and a beaming smile. He had a suggestive look on his face, and he was dressed in a black tux and the cutest bowtie.
He did all that when I was asleep. Classic Tristan.
"Are we going out?" I asked as I took the bag from him. I didn’t actually want to, but if he did, I wouldn’t mind.
"Not exactly" He chuckled nervously. "Put this on and meet me in the lounge in say half an hour?"
"Okay.." I trailed as I eyed him oddly. I didn’t know what he had planned, but I was eager to see.
The dress was actually really beautiful. It was a royal blue, velvet dress with bateau neckline and fitted bodice. My round tummy looked cute in it as it hugged me perfectly. I didn’t see shoes, and I didn’t intend to wear heels either, so I shoved my feet in my fuzzy slippers and I gazed at myself in the mirror.
I liked that the pregnancy made me glow, and my hair had never looked better. I had to admit, it has it perks.
With a deep breath, I exited our bedroom and made for the suite's lounge/living area. It was really expensive to get this room, but it was indeed worth it.
However, I was left stunned when I stepped into the room. The lights were dimmed to a perfect romantic glow of red, and the trail from where I stood to the center of the room was littered with rose petals. Candles sat on every corner of the room, and on the lounge table stood two bottles of champagne, but I’m sure it was more like sparkling wine.
Still, the wonderful and beautifully decorated room wasn’t what had me in tears. It was the man I loved who was on his knees in the middle of the huge room, wearing his beautiful smile with love filled eyes.
I threw my hands over my mouth to stifle a sob as I slowly walked over to him. He never let his gaze drop from me as he fished a velvet box from his jacket, and I noticed that it matched my dress.
"Cianna Leir, from the moment I saw you in that room, I knew you were the woman for me. You've come into my life and made me the happiest man alive, and I want it to be like that forever. You deserve someone who will always stand by your side, allow you to grow without boundaries, and love you unconditionally. And I want to be that person for you. When I look into your eyes, I see a reflection of the two of us and the life I hope we will have together. I know you're the only person that I'd like to spend the rest of my life with. So every day, I promise to love you a little more, and I will never stop."
He took a deep breath as he reached out to hold my hand, and I just couldn't believe this was actually happening.
"What I'm saying is, will you do me the magnificent honour of becoming my wife?" I gasped even more in utter bliss as he opened the box, revealing a beautiful silver ring with the most gorgeous diamond neatly centered in it.
Luckily for me, I didn’t wear any makeup, because my eyes were flowing like a river.
"Will you marry me Cianna?"
"Yes! Yes of course I'll marry you Tristan" I cried as I threw myself at him. His arms wrapped their way around my waist as he laughed in joy, and I found myself beaming too at the wonderful feeling.
"You're my life Cianna" he mumbled as he slid the ring on my finger. It fitted perfectly and glistened so brightly in the dim light. I giggled through tears as he gently kissed my tummy. "You too. You both are"
Happiness was all I could feel as I grabbed his face and kissed the life out of my new fiancé, and soon to be husband.
