Chapter 5- Think About It
This is it.
I was about have sex on my kitchen island with a man I met a few days ago. Nothing crazy about that of course.
I tried not to think about it too much, so I mainly focused on my body and how much on fire it was.
Tristan was a great kisser, that's for sure. The way he gripped the back of my neck with one hand and my waist with the other drove me crazy. The way he moved his lips in a rhythmic manner on mine pushed my feelings to a certain ecstatic high that was enough to drive me insane.
He licked my bottom lip slowly and deadly, causing me to gasp at how tingly it felt, and he wasted no time in claiming my tongue with his. He deepened the kiss, taking me in body, soul and mind through just one simple kiss. It made me eager to see what he would do to me with more than just that, and I was more than prepared to experience it.
He trailed kisses down my cheek and to my neck as his hand slowly moved from my waist to my thigh, where he steadily ran his fingers over a rip in my jeans exposing my skin. He continued teasing me with his fingers and I was pretty sure that I would have to hide my neck with scarfs for a while after today.
My body was getting impatient, and I found myself moaning at his very touch, begging him for more. The only thing I could think of was how much I felt like I needed him--how much I felt like his foreign touch was home to me.
"Cianna? " He asked in a husky tone with his breath hot on my neck.
"Yea?" I replied, almost inaudibly.
"Are you sure? "
I nodded frantically, not being able to say more. My clothes felt like leeches stuck to me that I so desperately wanted to get rid of, but couldn't on my own.
He captured my lips again in a kiss full of want and desire. His fingers grazed the exposed skin under my crop top, as he slowly began to lift it up. We broke away for a moment as he attempted to discard the fabric from my body, but suddenly, something else broke in my house, and it wasn't our kiss this time.
I squealed in surprise as my eyes quickly darted to the kitchen exit. Tristan too was alerted and as fast as I could scream, he was stiff, vigilant and scanning the area with his gun in his hand.
The darkness in his eyes didn't resemble the one that had desire anymore; it was more of a dangerous look, like he was daring an enemy to attack.
I shuffled from the island to wobbly feet, and his hand immediately shot up to halt me.
"Stay here " He commanded lowly, almost sending shivers through me again with the husky boom of his voice. But of course, I didn't obey him and I followed closely behind him to the living room.
He held the gun up in front of him as he slowly walked through the kitchen exit that led to my living room.
I peeked over his shoulder to see what might've been out of place, but the only thing that I saw was that my front door was half opened.
Eventually, Tristan lowered his weapon once he was sure we were alone. It seemed as if the intruder ran through the door and broke someone the way.
"Right here" I heard Tristan say, and I followed his gaze to my favourite vase laying shattered on the floor. I frowned at it as I stooped to pick up the pieces, but he quickly stopped me.
"No let me get that " he offered, sounding and looking nothing but professional as he threw on gloves and placed a few large pieces in a zip lock bag.
He studied it carefully for a while, and I was going crazy trying to figure out what he was thinking.
"You think the person knocked it over while trying to get out?" I asked carefully, trying to understand what happened.
He simply shook his head before standing up from his former stooping position. "No. This was purposely done" He frowned, making me even more confused.
"What do you mean?"
"The pattern doesn't make sense,” he simply stated, which did not help my confusion. He must've seen it on my face, so he explained further.
"There's only one way to your kitchen and it's passing here." He motioned to the narrow walking space towards my kitchen and the small cabinet where my vase used to be, and that's when I started to realise what he meant.
"From where your stairs and entrances to other rooms are positioned, there was no reason for this person to come by here if he or she was here before we came and was merely trying to get out"
"So the vase couldn't have been broken because the person wasn't in the kitchen. " I concluded.
"Exactly," he confirmed. "And look here. If it was that he was running out and hit the vase over, it would've been shattered a little distance away from the cabinet. But it was shattered right in front of it, showing that the person purposely took it up and broke it right here"
I ran my fingers through my hair as I analysed the scene. If I wasn't thinking straight I would've easily missed all this information, but now that I knew that the person wanted us to know about their little visit, I couldn't help but feel a little scared about how daring this person was.
But I had a gut feeling I knew who it was.
"You know it's Mia right? Who else could it be? " I sighed before plopping down on my couch. He stood in front of me with a blank look on his face that scared me.
"I can assume it is, given the message on the door and the first break in. But I'm going to run the finger prints on the vase over my database, see for sure if it is her" He said, causing me to roll my eyes.
"Come on Tristan you still can't believe that she's the good guy"
"I don't" He replied stiffly. "A big part of my job is to figure out these things based on assumption, but I still have to have solid evidence. " I simply nodded and directed my gaze towards the floor. I heard him sigh deeply before he was face to face with me again as he stooped before me.
"Look Cianna, I know it's her okay? But I can't run her across to my captain as a wanted person before I know for sure. There are other people who were close to Sheldon who might have a vendetta against you because they might believe you're the killer, so I have to be sure okay?" He asked in a much calmer and sweeter tone.
Sighing, I nodded in response and met his eyes once again. I relaxed greatly when I saw that they were kind and concerned. Something in me warmed at the very thought.
"I will catch her because she is obviously a threat. Maybe she knows more about Sheldon's death than she's letting on. But for now, change your locks and I recommend you stay with your father"
"I can't stay with my dad forever and I have work to do. I'll change my locks and watch my back, but trust me, I can take care of myself" I reassured him, but he didn't look convinced.
"Look Tristan, I get that she's crazy and I might be on her hit list, but now she knows that she's going to be wanted so I know she's not stupid enough to get caught. Don't worry about me" I told him truthfully. I'm a big girl and I deal with danger my own way.
"How can I not when I just found you? " He whispered, running his hand over my cheek. A rush of emotion erupted in me again at his words and his touch, and something in me wanted to reassure him that I would be okay.
"I'm fine . Just figure this case out Detective Deckor." I smirked in attempts to lighten the mood and it worked.
He offered me a gentle smile before quickly pecking my lips. "Okay. I'll go by the office to run these prints, but in the meanwhile, please get these locks changed "
"Calling the locksmith right now" I sang as I waved my phone in front of him. He simply smiled before standing up again.
"I'll see you soon Cianna. We can pick up where we left off" He shot me a wink before turning and headed to the door. My heart raced at the thought of continuing what we were about to do.
"Oh and Cianna" he called out just before he left, catching my attention. "Remember to think about it " And with that he was gone.
I couldn't help how heavy my chest felt now that the initial wave of horniness and adrenaline was gone, so my mind was fully cleared and that meant I could think clearly.
I could think about us.
Should I get physically involved with him? I knew for sure that my body was attracted to him and his to mine, but do I want just that? Or do I want more than just mere physical attraction?
