Chapter 46 Finally
Serenity's POV
I stared up at the ceiling, thinking about the past months while taking in the silence of our new home.
It felt like we’ve been gone too long from home, but though I missed Siam and Liam, I can’t get myself to pick up and leave.
Eric and I had gone so far now and I can just see the perfect life we are starting and will be having while we stay in LA. And Jean had started with medical school, starting to learn to love herself more now. I can’t just take that away.
Right after Adrian took us in, he gave us- even Jean- the needed make over to keep our identity a secret. He didn’t ask much, but he gave a lot. And as long as it can help us, he’d do anything.
Even Jean was brave enough to have her long dark hair changed to strawberry blond and straight. As expected, she looked amazingly hot that boys were lining up at our very door step looking for the hot doctor in the neighborhood.
As for Eric and I, well, we were still in the middle of high school drama being the new couple in school, which I think pissed off a good amount of girls, especially when Eric would introduce me as his wife.

“That piece of ass should be on the market.” Shelby says as we watch Eric running around with the football team.
We were at the beach for the weekend for some needed rest and relaxation.
I looked around and saw that practically the whole school was their.
“You get to tap that every night?” Hazel says.
I chuckled and shook my head, “There’s more to that in marriage you know.”
“Yeah, yeah… but that’s the only part I’m interested in right now.” she mumbled.
“Why am I not surprise?” I hear Jean say beside, but only loud enough for us to hear.
I grinned as I look through my sunglasses and watched Eric roughing around with the boys.
Since the news last month of my pregnancy, Eric had been extra guarded and careful around me. Having me watched by Jean when he was going somewhere, even agreeing with Adrian in hiring a guard for me.
It was like being back home, but when he reminded me that we weren’t far from trouble, especially from the vampires, well, that had me thinking. Security was worth the trouble.
I put an arm over my stomach, as if protecting my baby from some unseen harm.
“You ok, princess?” I hear Gary, my guard, asked.
“Yeah…” I said. “Thanks Gary.”
He smiled and step back again. I’m not really sure where Jean and Eric found him. All I can remember was that they left me under Adrian’s watch as we look around at the new place he got for his company, then they came back with the still rogue Gary and introduced him as my guard. Eric put him under oath of his pack and welcomed him to our small family.
“You want anything to drink?” Jean asked.
“No, I’m good.” I said, trying to relax again and soaking up the sun.
Well, until the sun was blocked by some idiot’s shadow.
“Hello their ladies.”
I frowned, though I was only here for a few months, I knew that voice anywhere.
“Get your lazy ass out of my sun Ron.” Hazel snapped.
“I’m not on your sun, bitch.” Ron says, “I’m on Serenity’s.”
I rolled my eyes and shrugged, “What do you want, Ron?”
“You know what I want baby girl.” He says, I gave him a disgusted look. “And with you looking hot and ready for me on your skimpy little bikini, I say, don’t mind if I do…”
He steps forward, but in an instant Gary blocked his way and Jean stood behind Gary.
“What the hell-“
“Stay away from Miss Serenity before I make you.” Gary says.
I shrugged and covered my face out of embarrassment. “Jean…”
She grinned and tap Gary on the back, “I’ll take it from here Gary.”
Gary glanced over his shoulder, “You sure miss Jean?”
“Yeah, little high school boys are adorable, I think I can take them.”
Gary chuckled but turned to glare at Ron again before letting him go and stepping away, making way for Jean.
“Ok, so what do you want little fellah?” Jean asked.
Ron put on a smirk and glanced down at Jean’s breasts that were emphasized by her bikini. I caught Ron lick his lips slowly and putting on his player face.
“Not so little sweet cheeks.” He says, “Not so little.”
“But from my view you are.” Jean says. “Now, listen, sweetheart. I don’t know what you’ve been taking but you aren’t that hot or that cute to even think that you have a shot with this little lady who happens to be my brother’s wife.”
Ron looked down at Jean, frowning.
“They were married for a reason, and one of that is to get douche like you away from her.” she says as she step forward pushing Ron back. “Now if you’d be a sweet little boy, I’ll let you go with just a slap on the hand for even thinking that you can get it on with Serenity.”
I caught Jean smirk and step forward, she ran a finger down his cheek to his neck and his chest, causing Ron to shiver. Well until Jean reached her desired destination, which was also Ron’s, only he had an all different plan in mind than Jean.
Jean squeezed it hard and pushed him away when he started shouting of pain.
“And keep your hands to yourself you perv!” Jean screamed.
I rolled my eyes, amused but at the same time pissed cause Jean’s little scream just made Eric glance our way. And from the looks of it, he was mad. Really, really mad.
“What the f*ck?!”
The boys started to move toward us, and Martin grabbed him by the nape. “What did we told you about coming near our ladies, huh *sshole?”
“I was just-“
“Eric, he groped me, I was just asking him to leave, I didn’t want trouble and…” Jean started crying, that I had to mentally applause.
“You touched my sister?” Eric snapped at Ron.
“What? No!” Ron says, still in pain, hand over his crotch. “She-“
“Are you telling me she’s lying?”
“Yes!” he says instantly and as quick as that Eric punched the daylights out of him.
I gasped and sat up. But the quick movement got me dizzy, that I gripped the arm rest of the wooden chair I was on to stop myself from falling. I had to close my eyes to stop my sight from twisting around.
“Miss, Serenity? Are you sure you’re alright?” I hear Gary say.
“Shit…” I hear Jean curse.
“Serenity, baby, are you alright?” I hear Eric say. I slowly opened my eyes and reached for his hand.
“Yeah, just got dizzy.” I said.
“Let’s get you out of the sun, sweetheart.” Jean says.
“Hey, you alright Serenity?” Shelby asked.
“Yeah.” I forced a laugh. “Maybe Jean’s right, I’m not used to being out on the sun.”
They laughed, “You sound like you’re a vampire.”
I stiffened in Eric’s hold, and he ran his hand down my back, comforting me.
A vampire.
“It’s alright, they don’t know what they’re saying.” Eric says, I nodded as I hear Jean telling Gary to get the car.

After that day Eric decided that it was time to tell the school of my situation. Asking what exceptions will I be able to get. Apparently, I can do home school if I wasn’t feeling good enough to come to school.
But seeing that I was to give birth after six months, it looks like I wouldn’t be able to go to my graduation.
But of course, Adrian wouldn’t hear any of it. For him I was only half way pregnant, well, that was true- for humans.
And as much as we want him in our little secret, Eric thinks its way too soon to trust him that much.
Which didn’t really help with our little situation of if I should join the graduation march or not.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*flashback~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
“But I’m not feeling well-“
“That’s just tonight, Serenity. Graduation jitters...” Adrian says pacing in front of me.
“Dad, please, stop pacing.” I raised my hand to make him stop, then I ran it over my eyes, trying to make the dizziness go away.
And yes, we have grown accustomed to calling Adrian dad, as he loved the thought of it.
He told us how he never really expect to get married but would love to have kids, cause I have to admit he was a pretty good dad.
“Sorry…” I hear him say and felt the sofa dip beside me.
I turned and saw him beside me.
“Baby, you’ll only be able to do this once.” He says, “And just think what they’d say to have a pregnant married nineteen year old as the class valedictorian.”
“I’m not trying to prove them anything.” I said, “I just want to be able to get my diploma and leave the place.”
He sighed, “Well, at least think about it sweetheart.” He says, “For your old man?”
I stared at him while he gave me the puppy dog eyes.
I threw my head back and groaned. “God, you are such a pain dad.”
He chuckled, “So does that mean…”
“Yeah, fine, I’ll do it already.” I said.
He jumped out of his seat and danced around. I felt Eric wrap an arm around my waist pulling me toward him. I rested my head on his shoulder.
“You gave in easy.” He whispered.
“Yeah, well, it’s the least we can do…” I said, closing my eyes cause Adrian was making me dizzy again.
“But are you sure you’re ok with this?” he asked.
“Yeah, Jean says I still have a week or the rugrats come out.” I said getting excited as I looked over my shoulder and up at Eric, “Just a couple of weeks.”
“I know…” he says, running his hand up and down my belly.
The moment Jean broke the news of the possibility of twins, Eric and I couldn’t hold down our excitement much longer. According to Jean I was actually taking the whole pregnancy better than Anna did, thinking that I was carrying two pure alpha blood in me.
“I really think we should tell Adrian.” I said, “I mean, he’ll see how the twins grow faster than normal babies… then there’s the vampire thing-“
“We’ll cross the bridge when we get there.” Eric cut me off. “Right now, I want you to concentrate on the babies and your valedictory speech tomorrow.”
I smiled as we turned back to Adrian who was now talking about the party that he had planned for us and all that jazz.
The graduation ceremony went by smoothly. My speech was met with much adoration that a local news paper asked to have it printed.
After the ceremonies we went back home where Adrian had prepared that small party he promised for us and our friends and some of his.
Eric and I were talking with one of the boys when I felt a kick on my belly. I gripped on Eric’s hand.
“Hey, you alright?” he asked.
I frowned, “I think-“ then I got another kick, this time strong enough for me to gasp and let go of my glass.
“Shit…” I leaned back on Eric as he picked me up and rushed me inside the house. “Jean! Jean get your ass here right now!”
I closed my eyes and bit my lip as I felt Eric rush me up the stairs to our room.
“What is it-“ I hear Jean say, “Shit, her water broke…”
Eric laid me slowly on bed, and pulled away to let Jean check on me, but I caught his hand and pulled him near.
“Stay… stay…” I pleaded between breaths and sob.
He and Jean exchanged look and Jean moved to the other side and let Eric sit beside me. “Shh, it’s ok… it’s ok…”
“Serenity!” I hear Adrian shout from the hall way and barged into the room. “Sweetheart, are you ok?”
“Her water broke,” Jean says, “the babies are coming fast…”
“Well, let’s take her to the hospital-“
“No!” we all said in unison.
“Jean can-“
“Jean just started with medical school.”
“But had delivered three babies, thank you very much.” Jean snapped, “I was trained exactly for this. Now get me some hot water, towels and…”
Eric turned to me drowning away Jean snapping at Adrian who was in a panic.
“Eric…”
“It’s ok, love, I’m right here…” he whispered kissing me on the forehead and wrapping me in his arms. “Right here…”
Sure enough, three hours of labor and pushing, I finally gave birth to my babies.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*end.of.flashback~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
“Hey, what are you doing up?”
I looked toward the door and saw Eric step in.
I smiled and tried to sit up, Eric rushed to my side and helped me up, propping pillows behind me. “Thank you.”
“Jean said you’d be tired for the next two weeks, probably a month.” He says as he slid an arm over my shoulder and pulled me close to him as we sat in bed.
“That doesn’t sound good.” I said.
He chuckled, “I’m pretty much guessing we’ll be having constant fight of you sneaking out.”
I laughed and snuggled closer to him and rested my head underneath his chin.
“What did Adrian say?”
He sighed and took my hand in his. “He’s still in his room.” he says, “I had Gary look after him, I don’t want him near you if he’s going crazy or something.”
“So he didn’t took the news well?”
“He did, until he asked for proof and I had to shift in front of him.” he says.
“You what?” I ask, sitting up, causing pain to radiate from my lower back.
“I had to baby,” he says, massaging my lower back, before pulling me back to his side, “unless you want to go home.”
I sighed as well, “No, not really, but…” I looked up at him. “What if he doesn’t want us here? What if he ask us to leave cause he wants to be in this mess and be with monsters?”
“He wouldn’t do that.”
We looked up and saw Adrian standing by the door, Gary right behind him.
“He insisted on seeing you.” Gary said.
Man, we must be tired, I didn’t even hear him. I heard Eric say through our link.
I don’t think it’s you being tired… I responded. It’s because we trust him that much.
“I think we’d be fine, Gary.” I said, “You can go rest.”
“You sure princess?” he asked.
I grinned, “Yes, thank you.” for some weird reasons he was the only one I allowed to call me that. Other than him, I will throw a tantrum and a pretty good verbal fight.
“I think I’d go check on the rugrats.” He said. “Just to be sure.”
“Thank you Gary.” Eric says.
“No problem.” He says giving Adrian one glance before he turned, leaving the door open.
Adrian walked toward us and sat at the edge of the bed, looking down at the floor as if it was the most intriguing thing in the world.
“Adrian…”
“I’m sorry.” He said, “I shouldn’t have reacted that way. I mean, this must be hard for you as-“
“Adrian…” I cut him off and he looked up at us, “We’re sorry that we had to keep this from you. We just didn’t expect you coming in our lives and turning it upside down. I mean, you were there at the perfect moment, not once did you question us about our past and never did you doubt our ability for us to get you out of trouble.”
He chuckled at the last part.
“We should have told you the truth Adrian.” Eric said. “We shouldn’t have put you in a situation where it would be too late for you to back away from.”
He shook his head, “I was crazy when I thought of using you to get me out of that date.” He said, “But for some reason I didn’t find any reason not to. It was like I was supposed to be there at that very moment to help you out and get you away.”
“And you did Adrian, you helped us more than we expected, even accepting Jean and-“
“Well, who can say no to that sweet little girl, really.” He sighed, “Damn, if I had kids, I’d probably wish they were exactly like you kids.”
Eric and I laughed as we watched him look up at us with a smile.
“Stay.” He said, almost pleading. “Everything has been going great since you arrived. And I haven’t been this happy since I can remember.” He looks around, “I have always lived alone and I don’t want to go back to the silence. I want this house alive and bursting of joy. Bursting of babies laughing and crying.”
“I don’t think I’d go that far.” I said.
“I would.” He says, all seriousness. “If it would get you to stay”
Eric and I exchanged looks.
“Are you sure?” Eric asked.
“Well, what kind of dad would I be if I let my daughter live out in the streets with my grandkids?”
Eric and I laughed and I sat up, reaching out to him for a hug, he chuckled and walked toward me to give me a hug.
“Thank you, thank you so much.” I whispered.
“No, thank you.” he says.
He lets me go and kissed me on top of my head. Then he moved to Eric and they exchanged man hugs and congratulated us for our babies.
Nothing could have ruined that moment.
And glad to say, nothing did.
It was the perfect happy ending.
Finally.
