“I’m doing my best, James,” William said as if he were frustrated. Then he sighed and changed the subject. “So everything’s sorted with the Mexicans?”
“Didn’t know you were interested,” James said with a chuckle.
“I’m not that interested,” William said coolly. “But then again, one needs to keep his ear to the ground.”
James nodded, understanding what William meant. Their businesses relied solely on information, and to keep oneself in the know was the only way to survive in this cutthroat world.
“All sorted,” James said. “For now at least. Who the fuck knows when they’ll spring up again?”
It was a fact that drug dealing, prostitution, and kidnapping was booming in Vegas. No matter how many had been shut down, another would just spring up once again, like fucking dandelions.
