CHAPTER 07 : LOST BEAUTY

"Hey Ruoyin." Mierin called

"Yes?"

"I discovered something new to your boyfriend that I bet you didn't new." Mierin grinned.

Ruoyin raised a brow "And what would that be?"

"Extra break hours."

Rouyi rolled his eyes "Got it."

"Yes!"

"You see, I kept asking Xian about this cousin of his and guess what I found out?!"

She leaned closer and whispered "...that he had a weird history."

Ruoyi just let her talk, paying her no mind.

"His parents were both citizen of this country but they migrated in Europe due to some reason. And there they gave birth to their second child whose named Lin Ri. Xian said he was always been different from any other child that time,"

"Xian's parents often comes to Europe every vacation and there they had time to play with his cousins but, Lin was different ever since. He was quiet but wise, he doesn't act and think like a child but more like an adult."

"It seems like an advance maturity." Ruoyi said

"Hear some more will ya?!"

Mierin cleared her throat again "Their family's lineage was originally from the lineage of the Lost Beauty."

"You mean from one of the story in the Tales of the Red House?" Ruoyi frowned

"Yes! The lineage of aggressive and loyal omegas."

"But, that tale... isn't it a myth?"

"Myths were product of  altered facts my dear friend! And according to their family tree, their bloodline truly traced back to their ancestors and one of them was the infamous 'Lost beauty'."

Ruoyi plumped on his seat " I don't know if you're story telling but what does it have to do to Lin?"

Mierin smiled "Are you ready?"

"It's actually a family secret but I manage to get a hold of Xian."

Ruoyi snorted "You despicable woman."

"Shh! I'm doing this for your own good!"

"So what is it?"

Mierin looked around and when she secured no one is about to enter she whispered "They believe that Lin Ri was the reincarnation of the Lost Beauty who was burned to death by protecting his mate."

Ruoyi widen his eyes "Reincarnation?"

Mierin nodded "No joke but everything about Lin matches the Lost Beauty they say."

"And you expect me to believe that?" Ruoyi eyed her

"Deal or not deal with it whatever." she crossed arms.

"And according to my observation on him... well, my observation doesn't matter but yours matter." Mierin said

"My observation?"

Mierin nodded "You'll see signs, I mean you are together 24/7 except when you both work. But have you observed him being too obsessed? Aggressive when it comes to you? Well the loyal part, no doubt you're the only one he had in his life but that's weird. He was a beauty, many alphas had maybe took liking on him or if he was normal then he would have chosen a good and pure blooded alpha but..." Mierin eyed Rouyi head to toe

"...he chose you, like you were the only one for him." there's a bit of ridicule on her tone.

"Finished?" Ruoyi raised a brow

Mierin laughed "Whatever, I'll send the documents for the meeting later." and she completely left.

Ruoyi still pondered of what nonsense Mierin said to him and can't help but to search the Tale of the Lost Beauty on the internet. It was a high school topic actually.

It is a famous literature, aside from the story... there were also poem and songs on that tale that expresses the love that the Lost Beauty wants to convey on his lover.

One of the most unrivaled concept of love.

The Lost Beauty was a famous entertainer on one of the best entertainment house. He sings and dance, he is good at painting and calligraphy because he was once a childe from a rich household but his family lost everything due to some circumstances and they all scattered, decided to take a living on their own. Even after downfall, he was loved and admired by many but, he fell inlove on a commoner working on the same red house. He was ridiculed and many tried to destroy their relationship but the Lost Beauty was the most loyal and obsessed omega, he didn't let them snatch away the love they had.

He fought everything just to be together with his lover but,

Someone who's more powerful took liking on his beloved and managed to separate them.

And just because both didn't gave up, one must die.

They took the Lost Beauty and tied him up in a public execution and there, they burned him alive.

Ruoyi blinked as he read this, and he saw an updated part right after the text by the author of the site.

'According to the scholars and the old scrolls (journals) that the head of the red house left, historians verified that the Tale of the Lost Beauty was true that took place at the Red District. Many evidences were laid and one of it that was just later confirmed....'

'...that the Lost Beauty was actually pregnant with his lover the time he was burned alive.'

Ruoyi felt a skip on his heartbeat, his breathing became abnormal.

He reread the last sentence and he can't help but to feel remorse in some way, guilt, overwhelming grief, pain. It was weird and suddenly a tear fell off from his cheeks.

"I-Im crying?" he wiped his cheeks and it was wet, he was actually crying!

Maybe because he somehow imagined that Lin was the Lost Beauty while reading. He shake off his head in clarity. Mierin was really influential by her mere words, he's thinking about making her the head of the advertising section.

He glanced at his watch and smiled "Time to go home."

'Zedong....!'

It was all dark, Ruoyi only sees the pitch black darkness all around.

'Zedong...!'

There was a faint call.

The one who was calling was crying. He turned to look everywhere but there's no one.

'Zedong...!' The endless cry echoed on his ears but his eyes widened when he suddenly heard a cry of an infant together with the call.

'Zedong....'

"LIN!" he cried and reached an arm in the empty air.

"Ruoyi?" Lin got up when he heard his cry, he turn on the side lamp and comforted Ruoyi.

"Did you have a nightmare?" he comforted him.

"You're crying." Lin was flabbergasted and wiped his tears which was all falling down continuously from his reddish eyes.

"Are you okay??" he asked, concerned.

"Lin... Lin..." Ruoyi sobbed and kissed Lin's palm.

"I'm here..." he snuggled

"It's just a dream okay? Just a dream." he comforted him

"But it felt real... my heart was aching and... and..."

"...and I saw you, with blood all over...fire, there's fire.... and-and calling me... in a strange name..." Ruoyi uttered still holding Lin's hand on his lips

There was silence in the room except for Ruoyi's sob.

"Its..." Lin trembly spoke, Ruoyi can't see his face but he also was about to break down.

"Its, only a dream Ruoyi... a dream nothing else." his voice was shaking as he kissed Ruoyi on the forehead.

"I don't know.... but he really looked like you... and, and... there was a cry, a cry of a baby..."

Lin stopped and froze, he started to tremble all over.

"It hurts Lin. I don't know but it hurts." Ruoyi stated.

Lin managed to control his emotion and barely said "It's okay now..." as a drop of a tear fell on his cheeks.
