“But…”

“But”, Zayden raised his brow, waiting for Eric to complete his sentence.

“But you definitely need her. I know she will bring happiness, peace, family, and every good thing that anyone needs in their life, including yours. That’s why Zayden, as much as she tried to keep herself away from you, you must not let her get away.”

Zayden thought for a while. He realized that Eric was right but something was still eating him up. “But, if I am wrong for her, then don’t you think it would be selfish of me to force her to be with me?”

“It will be. But it would be worth it. No one can love her more than you do! And no one can bring the kind of happiness to her, which you can bring upon her.” Eric replied to which Zayden nodded positively. While Eric, to prove his point added. “And I am sure that you wouldn’t approve of any other man touching her.”

Zayden snapped his face toward Eric, feeling jealous over some imaginary man.

“I will definitely kill him.”, He growled in a deep rough voice, which might have scared Eric for a while but he did nothing and just smiled.

“So, now it is clear that when you can’t imagine her being with somebody else, then how do you think you can stay away from her. That’s why, I repeat myself again, that you need her.”

“Okay! Okay. Don’t remind me again and again that I need her and my life is dependent on her, and tell me what I should do to get her? I have no experience in such things.”, Zayden confessed.

“That’s why I am here.”, Eric said, raising his collar. “I have a lot of experience in all these things. If I would have been at your place then I would have forced her to marry me and make her me but since you want to court her and impress her, I have some other plans.”

“Okayyyyy? And what are they?”

“You will have to first take her to dinner and then date. Then you have to set up a romantic area where you can confess your love and ask her for marriage. And then, she will say ‘YES’. And tada! You both will already be married till then. SIMPLE isn’t it?.”, Exic asked in an excited tone.

Zayden’s eyes lit up. “Is it that simple!”

“Yup, Zayden. At the same time, you have to keep showering her with expensive gifts and surprises. Because women love them.”

“Don’t worry about that. I will give her everything that she wants except her plea to leave her”, Zayden promised this to himself. “By the way, I still can’t believe that I am excited to do these silly things for her. Without entering my life, she started making me feel different. Right now, I feel like I have turned into a school-going teenager boy!”, He confessed.

“Love can do strange things, Zayden. It is just the beginning. Without your realization, she will change you into an entirely different person. And I am sure, at that time, you will also have a normal life just like others.”, Eric said smilingly. Zayden didn’t say anything but smiled. He went to his room and laid down on his bed. Just like Grace, sleep was far away from his eyes because of the kiss, even though it was on her cheek. He recalled comforting her in his arms. How perfectly her tiny body fit into his!

He switched off the light and started fantasizing about her in the dark.

“Will you be a bit quick, Grace?”, Her mother scolded Grace when she came to know that Grace couldn’t end her shift just like they had planned.

“I am trying, Mom.”, Grace said, trying to finish all her work. “A few things are yet to be done. It will hardly take ten mins.”

“My God, Grace! You are already five minutes late. You should have left by now... Are you inviting the devil to pick you up from your workplace?”, She asked. “What...What if he arrived there two hours before?”, She asked Grace or more like asked with herself. She was thinking about this whole day because one should never consider themselves the most intelligent man in the world while thinking of others as fools. Moreover, Zayden could be anything but not a fool.

“I don’t think he is that free, Mom.”, Grace reasoned out.

“I don’t think so! That man is damn too intelligent and smart, so we better not underestimate him.”

“How do you know this much about him?”, Grace asked in surprise. “Don’t tell me that he himself shared all this information with you over the television like a celebrity.”, Grace joked to enlighten her mother’s mood.

Her mother scoffed. “You would also have these pieces of information if you had a habit of reading the newspaper or watching the news on a daily basis.”

Finally, Grace had finished all her work and left the restaurant. “I was thinking of asking one of my coworkers to drop me home.”, She suggested to her mother.

“No. I don’t like any of your coworkers. They all give me negative vibes. So, when it comes to men, don’t trust them easily.”, Her mother said.

“I totally agree with your mom, sweetheart!”, Zayden said.

Both her mother and Grace knew the owner of the voice and were in shock to hear that voice this early.

Shit!

‘This can’t be happening. How the hell is he here!’, Grace thought and wanted to cry at her fate.

“Won’t you look in my direction, sweetheart?”, Zayden asked. Grace sighed in defeat and finally turned around to see the face of the owner of the voice. Zayden was standing right in front of her in all his glory. Actually, he was leaning over his car, arms crossed over his chest, and was wearing goggles.

‘Who wears goggles at night?’, She couldn’t help but wonder. But she had to accept that Zayden was looking handsome in his attire. She quickly lowered her eyes realizing that it was not right to see any stranger in this manner.
