Third Person’s POV

‘Oh my god! Why did you do that Dominic? You marked her without her consent.’, Zayden almost shouted at his wolf.

‘I was not in my senses.’

‘Not in my sense, my foot. Can you please tell me what we will explain when she wakes up?’, he asked rudely.

‘I am telling you dumb ass! From that moment on, we ate the cake baked by Grace. I started feeling that something was not right, especially with me. That’s the reason I quickly asked you to stay away from Sarah and come into the room.’

‘Well, now what?’

‘Now what? Get ready to face her anger.’, Dominic sighed. ‘I am still not feeling well.’

‘Then better take rest. Tomorrow is going to be the longest day of our life.’, Zayden suggested and soon he stopped feeling Dominic's presence. He sat beside Grace who was sleeping peacefully and touched her soft hairs.

“Now, I don’t think that I can hide the truth from you for long. I..I just don’t want to lose you, sweetheart.”, Zayden whispered and kissed Grace's forehead.

Grace woke up to some room that was really beautiful, unlike her room at her parent’s house or her room at Zayden’s house. She got up from her king-size bed before slowly seeing the room clearly. There was a fireplace and candle stand. There were no lights in the room.

The room had no TV or table lamps. It looked like a Victorian room which was one of the queens of ancient times.

'But why was she here?', she wondered.

“No! Leave her!”, she heard the loud painful voice of a man. The voice was coming from the veranda. Grace ran as fast as could because it looked like someone needed help but she was still very far away from that sound. Finally, she could see that two men were roughly taking a woman and in the opposite direction a man was trying to fight with a few men, but it didn’t look like he was winning. “Leave her! Leave her, please!”, he begged.

Grace couldn’t recognize the face of the woman because it looked like she had been horribly treated before bringing here. She didn’t realize she was crying until she tasted something salty in her mouth. She looked toward the man, but she couldn’t see his face because it was covered by his messy long hair. All she could see was, he was in pain and was begging his father to leave her!

Grace kept running to reach near them but she felt like the distance between them was a never-ending path. She saw those men tying the woman with the iron pole.

“Bye, my love.”, she whispered, before the roof of the veranda was opened.

“Jennifer...Jennifer….”

A large amount of sunlight fell on that woman and within seconds, that woman turned into ashes.

“Aaaaaaaaaaa…..”, the sound of a painful voice pierced in her ear.

Grace opened her eyes and found herself on my bed. She looked around and sighed in relief because this time, she had really opened her eyes in her room. She stayed in bed for at least ten minutes, wondering what kind of dream she just had. She picked up her mobile and checked the time. Her eyes widened when she saw the display of her mobile was showing the time 12 PM.

‘Never ever in her life, I slept this late.’, she thought and left the bed to freshen up. ‘Even Zayden didn’t wake me up. Well, that’s rare!’, She talked to herself and started the shower.

‘Aahh”, she felt slight pain near her neck. She turned around to check the reason for the pain in the mirror and found a big tattoo of a wolf howling toward the moon. Suddenly, she recalled what had happened last night.

‘Dominic...he bit me. But why? Did he mark me? No! No! No! He won’t do that without my permission, right?’, She thought but couldn’t convince herself. She had to talk with Zayden immediately. She quickly took a shower and wore a simple yet pretty dress.

Grace screamed when she was tackled by strong arms just after she came downstairs.

“Moon Goddess! I am so so so happy. I could smell you from the moment you came out of the room. And I am so excited about it.”, Allison said, squeezing her tightly.

“Ally, you are crushing me.”, She mumbled.

“Oh! I am so sorry!”, She quickly left Grace and then grinned like an idiot.

“And what do you mean by smell? I showered today?”, Allison looked at Grace as if she had grown another head.

She reached near Grace and pushed her hair away from the mark which she was hiding with it.

“He marked you.”, She said. All the doubts which Grace had in her mind got confirmed that Zayden’s wolf indeed marked her without her permission.

The sudden change in Grace’s mood didn’t go unnoticed by Allison and suddenly she gasped.

“He did it without your consent!”

‘If he had asked to mark me then I might have said YES. But instead he did whatever he felt right. He felt right by forcing his demands on me and he did it; He felt right by kidnapping me from my own wedding and he did and now this, Thrice. He did this thrice. Do I not get an opinion on this or am I just something that needs to be controlled by him always?’, Grace thought.

“Can you please tell me where he is, Ally?”, I asked her calmly but my jaws stayed clenched.

“How about having something to eat before you see him. I have to share a lot of things that happened last night. Do you know I met Alpha Craig…”

Grace interrupted her in between. “I am sorry, Ally. But where is he?”, she asked. Allison again thought to change the topic to save her brother from Grace’s wrath but it seemed like it was impossible.

“Grace, please don’t do any….”

“WHERE. IS. HE?”, Grace felt something surge through her and she was momentarily taken back when Allison’s eyes widened in fear before she started looking at the ground.

“The Alpha and the beta is having a meeting in the Alpha’s office.”, She replied, and the whole time, she kept her head down, never once even glancing up. A part of Grace told her that she was the reason that Allison was not looking at me and maybe she should apologize but then, she didn’t do anything wrong. She just asked where her husband was!

“And where’s that?

“Please take a right turn just after the kitchen and that will lead you there.”, She nodded her head even though Allison didn’t look up to see it.

“Thank you.”, Grace followed the instruction which Allison had given her but she didn’t find either Zayden or Eric in the Alpha’s office.

“Have you seen your Alpha?”, She asked a little boy who was hardly seven or eight years old. She knew that no one would call his name in the packhouse. Moreover, kids had the misconception that Zayden’s name was actually ‘ALPHA’ because everyone used to call him that.

“He is in the backyard, Luna.”, He replied and ran away from there.

Grace walked toward the backyard and forgot her anger for a while when she looked at the surroundings of the backyard. It was so beautiful. Trees line the yard and it seems so peaceful against the light blue sky. Her feet crunch on the dirt as she walked toward the training field. Well, she can call it that after observing a lot of wolves in the field. A few of them were running after one another, some were fighting with other wolves. To her surprise, there were even men fighting with wolves.

She quickly hid her face when she saw half-naked men as well as fully naked men. She started wondering how she could find Zayden here among so many people. Immediately a very defined-looking chest blocked her way and came just in front of her with a loud possessive growl.

‘I should have known that he would find me first.’, She mentally thought.

“What are you doing here, sweetheart?”, His eyes were a deep shade of golden, as he crossed his arms over his broad chest, blocking her view of the field. She reminded herself of the reason which brought her here.

“Why did you mark me without my permission?”, She asked, glaring at him.

“To remove your insecurities and I want everyone to know that you are mine.”, He replied with a smile but that didn’t stop Grace from glaring at him. His smile would have melted her anger but she kept reminding herself that she needed to take a stand. If not then he might end up consuming their relationship one day and he would give the same excuse again.

“That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have taken my permission, Dominic. I am not something to be owned.”, She accused him as low as she could but she knew that people could hear her perfectly. They were just pretending not to listen when they were. “You always do what you like without caring what I want.”

“I am sorry, sweetheart…”

“I hate you for doing this.”, She said and pushed Zayden a little. She gasped when she felt a spark in her hand when she touched his chest.

Zayden opened his mouth to explain everything to her. That's when he heard ‘VAMPIRES at the north parameter’ in his mind and his expression changed. Suddenly all the men in the field shifted into their wolf form and ran into the woods as loud growls filled the air.

“Eric”, Zayden yelled, causing a brown wolf to snap his head to attention and look over at them.

“Take the luna back to the packhouse and protect her with your life!”, He ordered before running in the direction where all the other wolves went in.

“Zayden?”

‘What happened?’, She wondered. At the same time, she felt Eric, who was in his wolf form nudged her gently with his nose to go back in the direction from where she had come.

“Okay! Okay! I am going”, She said and started walking. But Eric kept nudging her to move faster. And after a while, she was practically running. The moment Grace stepped inside the packhouse, she heard the loud howling sound of the wolf, and for some reason, she didn’t feel right about that sound. It took only a few seconds more when that feeling became worse when more howls echoed in the air.

Panic surged through Grace, she could understand why but she was not able to breathe properly. She was able to feel the pain that was not her.

‘Why am I not able to take a breath? What is happening to me?’

“Grace, are you alright? We need a doctor!”, She heard Allison's voice but the world was still fuzzy to her. People began to surround her, but she couldn’t see them as she was not in her senses. All she could hear was everyone shouting in panic as the darkness started consuming her.

Only one sentence replayed in her head before the darkness completely took over. “The Alpha is seriously injured.”
