The pain of betrayal
Grace’s POV

“Luna, this is Tia, Peter’s mate.”, I nodded my head politely to the woman who shockingly gave me a tight embrace.
“Finally I can meet you, my Luna.”, She said cheerily and made me tap my shoulder nervously before pulling back. “I heard what happened with Alpha Zayden but you mustn’t worry, he will come back in time, he is a strong man.”, She tried to assure me. Eric had told me that she was a human but seeing her behaving casually, made me feel like she had accepted her fate and was well aware of the werewolf’s life.
“I hope so.”, Was my short response before we all sat in the dining room where she had already prepared food for us.
Food was the last thing I wanted right now but I had to eat for our child. I had no idea what his or her future had held for him or her.
After dinner, Eric again took me back to that room, where I was staying. He informed me that the room belonged to Zayden, he used to stay in that room whenever he used to visit this city for any work.
The moment I took a step inside his room again, I couldn’t hold myself.
I let the tear fall freely from my eyes the moment I closed the door.
‘He’s with another woman.
Can I fight with everyone including him?
Can I bring him back?
I love him…
I love him so much.’
Immediately I felt pain. The pain about which Eric was talking about. The pain when a mated partner wolf tries to cheat. Soon, the pain started spreading all over my body. I was not able to breathe. I was not able to handle the pain of betrayal.
‘Oh god...No, please No.
Please Zay….please stop! You are hurting me!

I was not able to mindlink him. The pain was unbearable and I couldn’t hold my tears anymore.
So, I let it fall.
Knowing that the man whom I knew and who promised to love me always was in someone else's arm.

“AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH”, I cried in pain. With every passing of seconds, seconds to a minute, and minute to more minutes the pain was unbearable.
‘Grace, try to handle your pain or our baby might die.’, I heard an unknown voice in my mind but I was not able to concentrate. The pain was too much. ‘Grace, you are stronger than anyone thinks. You have to handle this pain for our pup.’
I guess this was the voice of my wolf.
‘Yes, I am your wolf. Now, listen carefully, Grace, in your previous life, you were a vampire and you had the power of shield. So, shield yourself and your mind from every kind of pain.’
‘I can’t. I don’t know how to do that.’
‘You can. Just try to focus. Think about our pup and try it.’
“Urgggg..’, I clutched the bedsheet and tried to handle the pain. After a while, I tried to concentrate, concentrate to feel no pain.
In the next few minutes, I still could feel the pain, but it was bearable. I smiled weakly and placed my palm over my stomach.
‘I am sure you are going to be strong just like your father after all you have started learning to defeat the pain from your mother’s womb.’, I thought before darkness consumed me.

Eric’s POV
My wolf can feel the pain of Luna.
And I can’t do a thing about it. I also fear what will happen when Zayden will mark Sarah as his mate?
I just hope his wolf doesn’t mark Sarah as his mate.
“We should ask for more help from the pack members for the protection of Luna.”, I heard Peter’s voice and turned my head toward him.
“I have sent Xander for the same. Let’s see what happens next.”, I replied. Not only this, but I have also asked Xander to talk with those Alpha who could help us. We should have all the powerful Alpha and Lycan in our team, knowing that the Alpha was not in his right head.
Knock...Knock…
“I am sorry Beta but no one wants to help us and wants to go against the Alpha.”, Xander said.
“WHAT?”, Peter exclaimed in anger while I just sighed loudly.
If no Alpha and none of our pack members want to go against the Alpha, it means they are ready to go against Luna.
In short, we’re going to have war with our own people.

Sarah’s POV
When I watched Zayden sleeping beside her, I rose from the bed and walked out.
Something was wrong…
I had to meet my mother and ask her about it.
No matter how much I tried to convince Zayden to mark me but he couldn’t. Even though he used to open his mouth to mark me, but he couldn’t.
Once I used to hate the idea of being a witch’s daughter.
So I tried really hard to hide my true identity from everyone.
No one would have let me live peacefully if they would have found out that I have witch’s blood in my veins.
That’s why I acted as an Orphan. Not that I liked to act like this, but this fact also gave me a chance to stay close to Zayden, my mate.
I had thought I would win his heart one day even though he had rejected me but my every hope was destroyed when he chose a human as his chosen mate.
‘She’s nothing, just a useless and weak human.’
When I made a plan to kill her by the pack members, she got saved, and later on, she turned out to be a werewolf just like others.
That’s when I came to know about Zayden's powers, especially his wolf’s power. I loved him and I wanted him always but now I wanted to be the Luna of this powerful wolf at any cost. But it was not easy to work, even when I knew how much Zayden was fascinated by her.
I hated her.
I spent so many years trying to win his heart while she did nothing to get his attention and his heart.
Zayden was mine.
I was supposed to be Luna beside him.
With our power, I believe we could rule many packs as well as humans as well.
That’s why I had to contact my mother.
‘After all, I will do anything to make his luna.
I know he is not in his right mind right now, I feel like being with a poppet but he is still Zayden in form.

“You need something that made you come into my room, my daughter?”
“Zayden is not able to mark me. And why is it so?”, I spoke to the point and she raised her eyebrow in amusement before she flew up to where he sat on the bed.
“It is not easy to control that wolf. That’s why I was working on other things rather than controlling him.”
“And what is that?”
“I am working on the formula. After drinking it, that wolf will have some of my powers and I can control my powers.”
“And what if this plan doesn’t work?”
“That’s impossible. Impossible until Zayden’s body will gain his control back on his body.”
“Then, hurry up mother.”
“I need at least 12 hours to prepare this. So, you can announce to others that ‘the official mating ceremony will be held tomorrow night’.”, My mother said. “And for now, leave me alone because I have a lot of things to do.”
I nodded my head before going back to my room when my mate was sleeping peacefully.
