Chapter 47 - Crimson Moon Pack's Alpha
LUNA ASTERBELLE'S POV
As much as I didn't want to interfere with the two, Jazpher scared me with how worried he looked. He wouldn't simply burden me with the responsibility of saving Dawn if he could've done it on his own.
I made up my mind to shift into my vampire form, and with my enhanced speed, I managed to catch the silver bullet with my bare fingers after Dawn attempted to shoot the beta.
"Luna, get out of there!" Dawn yelled as his face turned red. He was mad at me for not utilizing the time he gave me to have a chance to escape.
"You don't have to go this far, King Dawn," I softly mumbled, intending to calm him down. "I'm sorry for that condition; I'm taking it back. I'll just come with Beta Holmes so that this will no longer escalate into a disastrous duel."
I kept my chin up to let them realize my determination. There was no point in conducting the duel if Dawn would end up dead.
"That's better. You should have been obedient right from the start." Nero clapped in amusement.
I returned to my human form as soon as I decided to leave their turf. Jazpher gave me his utmost appreciation for stopping them before it got worse. He even apologized that he had to rely on me when I'm not even one of their members.
Dawn was right—Jazpher doesn't know anything about me anymore.
"Shall we get going?" Nero asked as he opened the door to the passenger seat of his vehicle.
I took one last glance at Dawn. I anticipated that he would at least tell me to be wary of the beta and the rest of their pack, but instead, he turned his back on me and walked away.
"Let's go," I replied with a short nod, and then I entered his car.
Nero went around to sit in the driver's seat. While he started the engine, I noticed the presence of another person behind us. I felt a powerful aura that I had never encountered before. I didn't even need to look to confirm that it was the Alpha as Nero began to break the silence.
"I brought Miss Asterbelle, brother," he said.
"You don't have to state the obvious, Nero." Alpha Holmes' voice was terrifying.
He even spoke coldly to his brother, so I'm guessing that they aren't that close or that they might have little to no affection for one another.
About an hour passed when Nero finally pulled over and told us to get off the car.
Compared to the Blood Moon Pack, where the surroundings were kind of warm, the Crimson Moon Pack had this suffocating atmosphere that made me feel like I would run out of breath with every step that I took as I entered their pack house.
As expected, most eyes were glued to me. They would probably be talking behind my back as to why I returned with these siblings.
"Butler Zen, accompany this woman to THAT place," Alpha Holmes ordered.
A man who wore a fascinating suit matched with a red necktie came to my side.
The butler led the way upstairs. I gasped for breath after we stepped foot on the thirteenth floor of their mansion.
This wasn't an ordinary pack house at all. I don't even know where to start describing this place. They had almost everything inside, from medical supplies to war-type equipment, and they even had specific training grounds on each floor where I kept hearing people's screams.
"We're here, Miss Asterbelle." Butler Zen opened the glass door ahead of us.
"What is this place?" My lips parted in disbelief as I gazed upon the wide variety of outfits for women's use.
"As you can see, this room is for our female pack members. It's usually occupied by them, but since the Alpha informed us ahead of time of your arrival today, all of them agreed not to go here," he responded.
"Are all of these supposed to fit me?"
Butler Zen sighed as he pushed me gently to the center. He gave me a dress that was the same color as the ocean. It instantly piqued my interest, as I've always dreamed of wearing something fashionable.
"Wear this for tonight's ceremony," Zen said. "Call me if you need assistance. I'll be waiting for you outside."
After Zen left the room, I quickly changed my attire and searched for a pair of high heels to pair with my dress.
As I was observing myself in the huge mirror, I suddenly thought of Dawn. I just remembered how the king designated me for the role of a spy.
Could this be my first mission as their organization's hidden member?
Once I finished fixing my hairstyle, I went out of the room and saw Zen leaning on the wall while he glanced at me from head to toe. After a few seconds, he averted his gaze from my face.
"Is there something on my face? Do I look weird?" I asked, which brought him back to reality.
Zen shook his head. "You look great. I'm sure that the Alpha would think the same."
However, contrary to what the butler said, Alpha Holmes wasn't pleased. "You made her wear this trashy dress on such an important night, Butler Zen?" He rolled his eyes as he went close to me. His hand freely roamed from the edge of my right shoulder to the tip of my fingers. "Your taste stinks," he added with a chuckle.
I can't understand this guy's mood at all. One minute he seems angry, and then the next second he'll laugh as if he didn't have his eyebrows furrowed moments ago.
"What’s the occasion?" I randomly asked out of pure curiosity since Zen also mentioned it earlier.
"Haven't Nero or Butler Zen told you yet?" Alpha Holmes muttered, so I shook my head to let him continue. "Firstly, you should be thankful that I chose you to be my Luna. Second, you'd be initiating the lighting of our pack's torch outside. And lastly, tonight would also be our first time to sleep together."
