Chapter 83 - The Plan
LUNA ASTERBELLE'S POV
Anger filled my mind. The best that I could do to maintain my composure for now was to hold Astra back. I still have to find the right momentum for her to strike. Astra was the type of wolf who gets careless as she tends to act on her own accord without any plan beforehand.
"Release Nero before I run out of patience, you insolent brat." I blurted out Astra's thoughts, though I guess they were also mine. "You're not even worthy to be recognized as an Alpha, considering that rotten personality of yours," I added.
Shin's cheeky smile faded as he started to bite one of his fingernails, only to state that he was getting anxious. "You have no idea who you're facing. Shall we settle this with a duel and a deal? If you can make me kneel on the ground and completely out of breath, I'll set Nero free and heal his whole body. But if you lose..."
The alpha's eyesight traveled from my face down to my chest and to my waist. Those eyes of a pervert remained the same despite the circumstances we were in.
"You're never going to see Nero ever again, and you'll have to spend the rest of your life with me in bed. I don't care if you get worn out; I'll make sure that I'll devour every corner of your body and leave my mark," Shin hoarsely whispered to my ears, his hot breath sending tickles to my nape.
I literally spit out my saliva on Shin's face. I waited for him to wipe it off, but instead, Shin extended his tongue out to lick and have a taste of it. "You're such a creep," I mumbled as I made a face that showed disgust.
The alpha placed his index finger below my chin, then held it together with his thumb to force me to keep on gazing at him. "Agree to my rules, little wolf. If you don't, I'll finish off Nero's life," he said as a threat.
I backed away from Shin as soon as I brushed his hands away from my face. There was no need for me to shift into Astra's body. I simply utilized my physical attributes in accordance with Astra's enhanced capabilities.
My gut was telling me that I wouldn't have many chances to land my fists on the alpha. It's actually a hundred times better than totally not being able to.
"To hell with your deal. I've been craving to kill you for days now. I should thank you for giving me this opportunity to do so." I provoked him, bending one of my knees forward to improve my stance.
With my arms straightened, I gave him a sign to come at me. Shin left Nero all by himself as he charged towards me.
I've given Astra absolute control over my body, knowing that she's way more excellent than me when it comes to close-range combat since Brian only taught me how to shoot using any type of weapon that requires precise aiming skills.
If there were a passerby who knew us and was watching Shin and me right now, I'm pretty sure that they would be baffled at how I could stand on par with an alpha.
Astra was definitely keen; I dodged Shin's attacks multiple times more than I originally assumed, thanks to my wolf. "One more. I just need one more minute," I mumbled to myself, trying my best not to lose sight of why I was here.
"Are you sure you could take me down in a minute?" Shin asked, rubbing his chin as if he had a mustache. "Well, whatever. You would still end up falling for me later on," he grinned.
A man's dignity and pride lie in the statements that he makes. Alpha Holmes never mentioned what should make him kneel down and be breathless, whether it was to show his defeat or simply because he wanted to kneel to me.
Never have I encountered a man who has taken back what they said, even if they were on the verge of losing everything they own.
An idea sparked inside my mind with the realization that I had the freedom to do whatever I wanted as long as I could abide by what his deal was.
"Shin," I calmly called him as I stopped taking the offensive. "Wouldn't it be nice if I were on top of you as you savored my sweet juices?" I playfully questioned, trying to sound as seductive as I could.
The alpha scrunched his eyebrows together. "Your fantasies can come true if you surrender now, little wolf, or should I call you a naughty wolf instead?" he answered with a response that I didn't expect.
I thought that Shin would be an easy target as long as there were sexual acts involved, but I was mistaken.
Shin got me flying from where I was standing and over to the place where Nero was locked in. I instantly tilted my head sideways to check the state the beta was in—he looks like he got messed up by an entire group of thugs!
"Are you okay?" I inquired like a fool.
If only I had let him escape with the rest, then this wouldn't have happened to him. I was the one who put him in this critical situation.
Nero slightly nodded his head. "I know…"
"I can't hear you; wait." I crouched closer to Nero, knowing that Shin wasn't around yet, just to hear him clearly.
"I-I know how to defeat that damn brother of mine," Nero said, which piqued my curiosity, so I let him continue. "There's something that only I know about him…"
Nero further explained how Shin can't determine whether someone who's not moving is already lifeless or not.
There was one time when one of their warriors was lying on the grass surrounded by his blood, and Shin was the only one who believed that the warrior would still move and stand up, even after checking his pulse and if he was still breathing.
Beta Holmes told me to pretend as I used that information to my advantage.
