CHAPTER 51
Catherine has never slept so peacefully like she did last night without any worry at all. Apart from the one time she woke up in the middle of the night she didn't wake again until this morning.
And the reason for her waking up that one time was to tell Adam he can share the bed with her because it wasn't a bother to her. If it weren't for his stubbornness, Adam would have slept on the bed right from the beginning.
But he kept insisting he wouldn't in order not to upset her although she told him she was okay with it. Adam still refused and then she gave in to his request as long as it made him happy.
But when she saw him turning and tossing on the couch uncomfortably, Catherine was unable to fall asleep too knowing Adam was having a hard time falling asleep.
Sighing, Catherine went to drag him from the couch and forced him to share the bed with her.
Smiling, she stared at his cute face as he slept peacefully just like a child. He looked so innocent Catherine didn't know when her itching fingers went to play with his hair that fell at the front of his face.
At the moment, his eyes flew open and a small smile played on his lips as his eyes fell on her, lingering in her face.
"Sorry, did I disturb you?"
"No, in fact I want you to wake me up like this every morning." He said, still smiling at her.
She tapped his bare chest lightly. "What? Is that all you got?" She teased.
"Oh I see, you want more?" He teased in return.
"You need to try harder and come up with better lines." She retorted before trying to get off the bed but Adam caught her before she could, drawing her back into his arms.
And in a deep manly voice he whispered in her ears making her hormones come alive. "Tell me Cherry, did you sleep well?"
"Uh-huh," she smiled, placing her tender palm on his chest as she gaze deep into his forest green eyes. "Did you sleep well?"
"Yeah." He nuzzled her neck inhaling her sweet scent. "Hungry?" He asked in his most seductive voice, she let out a small gasp at what he was implying.
Placing her two small hands on his chest she tried to set herself free from his tempting clutches. "Adam, it's morning already and we need to get out of bed." But he paid to heed to her as he pulled her back into his arms.
"Why in a hurry Cherry, let's cuddle some more in bed please."
"No Adam, we need to get out of bed now." She insisted, refusing to let desire cloud her judgement.
"Alright, you win." He sighed before finally letting go of her. The last thing he wants is to make her feel uncomfortable. "You can go freshen up, while I check in on grandma and see what's cooking in the kitchen too." He pecked her before slipping out of bed.
"Adam," she called gently, stopping him before he got to the door. "Thank you, thank you for last night." She smiled, feeling very happy for keeping to his word by not touching her inappropriately.
After she brought him to bed when he couldn't fall asleep, Adam promised not to make her feel uncomfortable in any way by not doing anything Catherine doesn't feel comfortable with.
And he kept to his promise.
As they slept, Adam didn't touch her in any improper way. He respected her as a lady and slept on his side of his bed even though she knew it wasn't easy for him. He still did and she wondered why he cares for her so much when they've only just met.
Taking slow steps towards her Adam stopped right in front of her, taking her face in his hand. She was expecting him to say something but he didn't. He only gazed into her eyes with affection written in it before tearing his gaze off and leaving the room.
She waited until the door closed behind him before snapping out of her lost state and going to freshen up before he returned.

Unable to concentrate during the meeting with the board of directors staring back at him waiting for answers, Michael ended the meeting. Shifting it to a more convenient time since the matter they were discussing was a very sensitive one. Michael wouldn't want to rush anything or make a hasty discussion that would later haunt him by causing him a huge loss.
As a businessman, every decision he makes counts. And any bad one could ruin his many years of hard work too. This he has learnt from Adam the boss, he scuffed. As he thought of Adam, he wondered how close Adam and Catherine had become. Just the thought of it drives him to the edge that he thought of a way to ease his anger but only thought of one.. Michelle.
Looking at the Rolex on his left wrist he saw it had passed office time. "This meeting has been adjourned." He said in finality before rising from his seat and everyone with him.
"But-" they wanted to object but he raised his hand dismissing whatever they had to say.
"My PA will keep you all informed about our next meeting time." Without waiting for their approval, he walked out of the office leaving them to glare at his absence.
At the moment all Michael wants is to forget everything and if taking Michelle back to bed will help him forget, he will do just so.
Entering his office, Michael went straight to his desk to where he tossed his mobile earlier during the day. Upon retrieving his mobile, the 45 missed calls left him shock.
"Who could it be?" He wondered as he unlocked it only to see Kendal's name pop up for all the missed call notification.
Sighing, he wondered what she wanted again. Tossing his phone in his pants pocket he decided to give her a call some other time or day.
"Sir, is there anything else you'd be needing?" Angela, his personal assistant, asked.
"No, that will be all." He dismissed her without sparing a glance her way. "Do not forget to send the update on the recent elevator construction taking place. I would like to know the progress."
"Yes sir." Giving a small head bow, Angela left the office.
Locking his briefcase, Michael left after switching the light off. Giving his driver a call, he asked for his car to be brought in front of the entrance door for he has neither the strength to walk to the car park.
