1087 Dao of Illusions, Elementary Realm
As the fight continued for more than a minute with no definite winner in sight, Xuan Hao could not help glancing deeper inside the valley with a hint of hesitation on his face.
Although the fight so far was useful for him in both comprehension of the Dao of Illusions and the way to use it in combat, he also understood that there was a limit to how long he could fight with the illusory beast in front of him before some of the more powerful illusory beasts nearby managed to pick up on what was happening and decided to come over to investigate what was happening.
To make matters worse, he and the illusory beast had slowly begun moving deeper and deeper inside the valley as their fight continued.
If he didn't end the battle soon, the chances of alerting another powerful illusory beast would just be a matter of time…

Because of this, Xuan Hao decided to use his dao domain instead of just relying on his Sword Dao to fight against the illusory beast.

Taken aback by the sudden eruption of Xuan Hao's dao domain, the illusory beast was momentarily caught off guard by Xuan Hao's sudden increase in strength, causing it to get caught up in his dao domain before it even had the chance to try and resist it.

Following the illusory beast getting caught up inside Xuan Hao's dao domain, it did not take long before it used all of its strength to try and defend against the constant attacks from both Xuan Hao's sword and his dao domain-

In the end, the illusory beast couldn't hold on for long before it was overwhelmed by the constant onslaught, being cut down before it had a chance to escape from his dao domain.

Doing the same as he had done after witnessing the death of the first illusory beast, Xuan Hao began to observe the process of the illusory beast dissipating. Focusing all of his attention on trying to increase his comprehension of the Dao of Illusions as much as possible before the body of the illusory beast disappeared.
In the end, the body of the illusory beast managed to last for a little over five minutes before disappearing. Longer compared to the first batch of illusory beast who had at most lasted a little over two minutes.
Not only that, but after he finished observing the now gone illusory beast's body dissipate, he also realized that the insights he managed to gain in the Dao of Illusions far surpassed that of the weaker illusory beasts. If the first group of illusory beasts allowed him to skip through two weeks of progress in only a few minutes, the more powerful illusory beast had managed to help him skip through close to a month worth of progress!
Given his current understanding of the Dao of Illusions, after what should have been no more than half an hour inside the Valley of Illusory Beasts, Xuan Hao already felt like he was close to reaching the Elementary Realm in the Dao of Illusions.
With this kind of progress, he began feeling like he might be able to reach the Large Success Realm in the Dao of Illusions if he stayed inside the Valley of Illusory Beasts for a few months.
Of course, he also understood that this kind of progress could not last forever, as he would undoubtedly begin to slow down the higher his comprehension of the Dao of Illusions became.
Even then, his current progress made him positive that he might be able to break through to the Elementary Realm in the Dao of Illusions before the day was over. Showing just how beneficial it was to hunt down illusory beasts.
The stronger the illusory beast, the more he would gain. If he wanted to increase his comprehension of the Dao of Illusions as fast as possible, he understood that he would have to make his way deeper inside the valley and hunt down more illusory beasts.
The risks that came from the possibility of encountering an illusory beast in the Earth Immortal Realm was well worth it considering how much killing the illusory beast helped increase his strength.
Other than that, he also felt confident that he would be able to escape from an Earth Immortal Realm illusory beast with the help of his Drifting Cloud Steps and Dao of Space in case he ended up encountering one.

Having made up his mind, Xuan Hao directly made his way deeper into the valley after having finished getting everything he could from the now dead illusory beast.

Over the next month, Xuan Hao used all of his time inside the valley hunting down any illusory beasts in the earlier stages of the Soul Ascension Realm or below that he found. Making sure to keep his distance from the more powerful illusory beasts who were at the Fourth Tribulation of the Soul Ascension Realm or above.
The reason for this was not that he wasn't confident in killing them, but because he understood that he had no way to kill them in a short period of time and had to use at least a minute or longer to deal with them… And although this would normally not have been a problem, it just so happened that he was currently inside the territory of a powerful illusory beast at the Pinnacle of the Soul Ascension Realm.
As for how he knew about this powerful illusory beast… That was because he had ended up encountering it almost the moment, he had decided to venture into the valley in search of illusory beasts to help increase his comprehension of the Dao of Illusions.
Back then, he had only barely managed to escape because of his swift reaction and speed. Escaping before the illusory beast even had the chance to attack him.
In the end, this encounter had resulted in him investigating his environment more thoroughly, causing him to realize that there would always be a Peak Soul Ascension Realm illusory beast in charge of any territory of the valley that he ventured inside of. No matter where he went, before he had the strength to kill these Peak Soul Ascension Realm illusory beasts, he was forced to stay quiet and only go after the weaker illusory beasts that carried the lowest risk when it came to increasing his comprehension of the Dao of Illusions.
Even with all of this, he had still managed to promote his Dao of Illusions to the Elementary Realm over the past month. Not only that, but he was already around halfway through to the Small Success Realm at this point in time. In at most one or two months, he should be able to reach the Small Success Realm in the Dao of Illusions.
Unfortunately, not all good things could continue… And just over the past few days, Xuan Hao had come to realize that killing the Domain Lord Realm illusory beasts no longer helped improve his comprehension of the Dao of Illusions. Even killing some weaker First Tribulation Soul Ascension Realm illusory beasts were the same and had lost their usefulness.
"If I want to continue comprehending the Dao of Illusions at my current speed, I will have to find a way to deal with Peak Soul Ascension Realm illusory beast…" Muttering this to himself as he unconsciously turned to glance in the direction of a large hill located in the middle of the forest he was inside of at the moment, Xuan Hao could not help feeling a bit hesitant.
No matter how strong he was when compared to ordinary Fifth Tribulation Soul Ascension Realm Expert, he could at most fight against someone in the Sixth Tribulation of the Soul Ascension Realm with his current strength. Far from enough to compare with Peak Soul Ascension Realm illusory beasts whose strength was beyond that of a normal Peak Soul Ascension Realm demon beast due to their unique and terrifying soul attacks.
Although the soul attacks of from the illusory beast at the Peak of the Fifth Tribulation of the Soul Ascension Realm was too weak to threaten him, the same could not be said for the soul attacks of the Peak Soul Ascension Ream illusory beasts.
Even if his encounter with one of them had only been for a brief moment before he had run away, he could clearly feel the terrifying soul energy that almost seemed to have surpassed the Soul Ascension Realm washing towards him back then.
His dao domain and the many different Daos he had comprehended helped increase the soul of his strength, but… It was far from enough to defend him against a soul attack that might have reached the Earth Immortal Realm!
If he could really resist against such a powerful soul attack, he might as well already have broken through to the Large Success Realm in one of his Daos and further strengthened his soul in the process- Or maybe even reached Late Stage of the Dao Domain Lord Realm…
