Chapter 343 - Pure Heart Island

Looking out over the side of the small boat at the water of the Pure Heart Lake, Qing Yi could not help but feel how small she was. The sheer size of the Pure Heart Lake was simply unfathomable to her in its entirety and that was only looking on the surface of the lake itself.

Below the surface, there would surely be a myriad of hidden treasures and ancient relics of the past that had been lost over the countless years since the Pure Heart Lake had come into existence. Not to mention the demon beasts that lived in the waters of the Pure Heart Lake'¦

"The Pure Heart Lake truly is massive'¦ I wonder how big the ocean is compared to this'¦"

Muttering this to herself, Qing Yi could simply not begin to imagine the ocean that supposedly surrounded the entire Ewaria Continent.

Just thinking about the ocean and what kind of terrifying demon beat and ancient artifacts that might be hidden beneath the surface made Qing Yi both excited and terrified thinking about it at the same time.

But then again, not many people on the Ewaria Continent had seen the ocean before. Simply due to the fact that the Ewaria Continent was way too big and even someone in the Nascent Soul Realm would not dare venture out of the region they were born in. Normally ranging from a few adjacent kingdoms to a few dozen kingdoms.

Take the Flying Sword Sect's current location as an example, if you wanted to go from the Flying Sword Sect to the ocean, you would have to cross through at least a few hundred different kingdoms and at the same time through different empires!

The task itself was dangerous beyond belief and one could easily lose their life, that is of course also not considering the years it would take to make the trip in the first place'¦

In the end. Only someone at the Domain Lord Realm would even think about going on such a long journey in the first place to see the ocean and most of those Domain Lords would be those who comprehended a water domain looking for enlightenment through observing the huge body of water that is the ocean!

"Qing Yi, we are almost there!"

Lost in her own thoughts as she looked out over the railing of the ship, Chu Yang suddenly walked up and nudged her shoulder gently before informing her.

"Hm?! That is the Pure Heart Island'¦?"

Blinking her pair of bright eyes for a short moment, Qing Yi looked around herself in a slightly bewildered manner before turning around to look at the large island that had suddenly appeared in front of the ship at some point in time.

"Yes! We will be getting off soon, so I thought we should group up before making our way onto the Pure Heart Island." Nodding his head to her question, Chu Yang decided not to comment on Qing Yi's bewildered expression, as she seemed like someone who had just woken up without knowing where they were.

"I see'¦ Then let's get Huang Yongyu!"

Like this, Qing Yi and Chu Yang quickly made their way to the inner part of the ship where Huang Yongyu was happily chatting with some of the other people on their way to the Pure Heart Island.

"We're about to reach the Pure Heart Island!"

Just as Chu Yang was about to go and inform Huang Yongyu, an old man came into the inner part of the ship and informed the people inside about the fact that they would soon reach the Pure Heart Island.

Making it easy for Qing Yi and Chu Yang to go over and pick up Huang Yongyu. Now that the people he had been chatting with leaving him behind to prepare themselves to leave the ship.

Arriving on the Pure Heart Island, Qing Yi and Chu Yang were both amazed by the unique flora of the island. Weird yet beautiful flowering trees covered in beautiful blue flowers and other mostly blue plants covering most of the island that they could see.

After taking in the beautiful environment of the Pure Heart Island, Qing Yi and Chu Yang soon made their way over towards a small building located close to the shore of the island under the lead of Huang Yongyu, who seemed way more knowledgeable about how things worked on Pure Heart Island.

Not that surprising given that the Pure Heart Lake and island were under his sect's control, though their enemies seemed to have mostly taken control of it at this point in time'¦

"Are you here to participate in the Ghost Howl Sect's expedition towards the centre of the Pure Heart Island?"

The moment the three of them entered, a young man came up and asked in a curious voice.

"Ghost Howl Sect's expedition? I didn't hear anything about this, we are merely here to try our luck on getting some Pure Heart Spirit Grass'¦ Could you perhaps explain a bit more about this expedition?"

Reacting to the young man mentioning the Ghost Howl Sect when he just impersonated as a young master from the sect a short moment ago, Chu Yang could not help asking about more information.

After all, the last thing he wanted was for the Ghost Howl Sect to figure out that he had impersonated as a young master from their sect'¦

"Sure'¦ The Ghost Howl Sect has put together a small force and plan to enter the centre region of the Pure Heart Lake to explore and gather some of the natural resources growing on the Pure Heart Island. However, this is not the truth.

In truth, the Ghost Howl Sect is actually using the expedition as real combat training for their disciples and at the same time allowing younger wandering cultivators an opportunity to join! From what I know, they are even planning to recruit the best preforming wandering cultivators into their sect as disciples!"

Saying this, the young man looked extremely excited.

More often than not, young wandering cultivator didn't want to become wandering cultivators and actually only ended up like that due to them either failing to enter a sect or some other circumstances that prevented them from joining a sect, kingdom or other power that taught cultivation.

Listening to what the young man said, Chu Yang, Qing Yi and Huang Yongyu smiled wryly. The young man in front of them was clearly only at the Qi Condensation Realm and was likely thinking that they were like him.

Wandering cultivators who came to look for an opportunity on the Pure Heart Island.

"We will think about it before coming to a decision'¦ Anyways, thanks for the information!"

Not outright refusing the young wandering cultivator, Chu Yang kindly replied to him.

"Sure, just remember that the Ghost Howl Sect's expedition will set off tomorrow at dawn!"

Not seeing anything wrong with what Chu Yang said, the young man happily nodded his head in approval before heading over towards a small group of people gathered together at a nearby table chatting together. Most likely other wandering cultivators also looking to join the expedition of the Ghost Howl Sect tomorrow.

Watching as the young man left, Huang Yongyu suddenly muttered to himself with a troubled expression on his face.

Not understanding why Huang Yongyu suddenly appeared so troubled over the mention of the Ghost Howl Sect, Chu Yang and Qing Yi both grew curious about what was so troubling about the Ghost Howl Sect.

"Is there a problem with the Ghost Howl Sect? I don't think they will know about what happened earlier and it should also be easier for us to find Pure Heart Spirit Grass if we follow them'¦"

"No! You might not know this, but the Ghost Howl Sect is one of the main sects in the coalition against my River Sect and they are by no means good and could be described as a demonic sect! The only thing missing is them practicing demonic techniques'¦

And now, this sect is planning an expedition to the centre of the Pure Heart Island. Even allowing young wandering cultivators to join them with the promise of a chance to maybe join the sect'¦? No matter how I look at this, there is something wrong with this so-called expedition!"

Listening to what Chu Yang said, Huang Yongyu proceeded to voice his doubts about the expedition. Making sure not to talk too loudly in case anyone other than Chu Yang and Qing Yi heard him.

"Can't we just avoid joining the expedition? Do remember that we are not here to uncover what the Ghost Howl Sect are up to, we are just here to get some Pure Heart Spirit Grass for a sect mission'¦" Qing Yi who remained silent when both Chu Yang and Huang Yongyu were speaking suddenly asked the two of them.

"Indeed, we can just ignore the Ghost Howl Sect'¦ Even if it's slower, at least it will be safe."

"I agree as well, but I still have a feeling something dangerous is going to happen, we should strive to finish gathering the Pure Heart Spirit Grass you two need before leaving."

Chu Yang and Huang Yongyu both agreed with what Qing Yi said, they had indeed only come for the Pure heart Spirit Grass, there was no need for them to involve themselves with what the Ghost Howl Sect was up to and pointlessly land themselves in a dangerous situation'¦
