626 Unknown Existence on top of the Ancient Temple

Deciding to not enter the ancient temple or any of the buildings scattered around it for now, Xuan Hao sat down next to the blue deer before closing his eyes to focus on trying to see if he could use his divine sense to forcibly pierce through the veil that seemed to cover the ancient temple and buildings all around it.

The reason he didn't use his domain to do this and was instead trying to use his divine sense for this, was that his domain would have no way to reach the peak of the ancient temple without him getting within a hundred meters of it… At that point in time, he might as well just make his way to the peak of the ancient temple himself and find out who the other party was and if there really was some sort of formation up there…

As Xuan Hao focused his attention on trying to pierce through the veil that covered the ancient temple standing only a few thousand meters away from his current location, the blue deer was going through some sort of change, as the scales all over its body grew more prominent, while the two antlers on top of its head grew slightly larger.

This was not the only change, as the strength of the blue deer seemed to improve from what could be considered the earlier stages of the Core Formation Realm to the middle stages of the Core Formation.

All of this happened without the slightest fluctuation and without properly inspecting the blue deer, one would not be able to notice these changes.

Even Xuan Hao did not manage to notice any of this, as his full focus was on the ancient temple in the distance and trying to use his divine sense to forcefully see what was hidden on the highest point of the temple where a powerful enemy was likely to be waiting for him.

It was only after hearing the weird breathing sound coming from the blue deer lying beside him, that Xuan Hao turned around to see that the blue deer had suddenly experienced a massive increase in strength without him knowing.

"How did it break through… And more importantly, how did its cultivation base stabilize so quickly without affecting the surroundings. Even I didn't manage to notice anything and I'm right next to it!"

Not knowing what to say after discovering the sudden increase of strength that the blue deer had experienced after having used the weird golden mist to help him out, Xuan Hao tried using both his domain and divine sense to inspect the blue deer in an attempt to find out what had happened to it.

Maybe even get an idea about what kind of demon beast it was… After all, there was no way it was just some random demon beast given how quickly its strength increased!

However, just as he had entered the body of the blue deer and tried to delve deeper into its origin, a terrifying power erupted that had remained dormant inside the body of the blue deer erupted with a frightening power-

"Ah!"

Catching Xuan Hao completely off guard by this, the power forcibly pushed both his divine sense and domain out of the blue deers body.

Swish!

Feeling that the power erupting from the body of the blue deer, Xuan Hao decisively moved away from it, while cutting any connection that remained between himself and the blue deer.

Rumble~

With no target, the power slowly calmed down before disappearing back into the blue deer's body where it once again entered a dormant state.

Watching this scene, Xuan Hao could not help breathing out a sigh of relief.

If he was a second too slow earlier, the dormant power inside the blue deer that erupted when he was trying to investigate the origins of the blue deer, would undoubtedly have injured him.

In his current situation, it was very likely that the one hiding on top of the ancient temple would have taken advantage of this to attack him. At that point in time, he would likely have been forced into a rather unfavourable fight that might have ended up costing him his life!

Thinking about this, Xuan Hao decided that he should not try and investigate the blue deer's origin before he got stronger!

In his mind, Xuan Hao had already planned to take the blue deer with him to the sect when he left the Main Star Peak. After all, after both of its parent's death, it had no one left to rely on. Not to mention, there was still the entity watching them from the top of the ancient temple…

If he left the blue deer behind on the Main Star Peak, Xuan Hao had no idea if it would be able to survive or would end up turning out like its parents-

Just as Xuan Hao was thinking about leaving the Main Star Peak together with the blue deer, a powerful attack in the shape of a massive golden palm descended from the top of the ancient temple. Heading directly towards him and the blue deer!

"Hmph!" Frowning upon seeing the golden palm formed by some sort of pure and holy power, Xuan Hao stood up as both his sword and ice domain surged out to form an impenetrable wall in front of him and the blue deer to defend against the golden palm descending towards them.

Boom-!

As the attack collided with the wall formed by both his domains, Xuan Hao could not help frowning as he felt the terrifying power behind the golden palm forcibly supressing both his domains, as it slowly began getting closer to him and the blue deer.

Knowing that he would not be able to block the attack by just using his domains, Xuan Hao used the sword given by him by Yi Min to launch an attack-

Fwoosh!

Not a second later, a beautiful silver crescent moon was formed in the air, as Xuan Hao slashed down towards the golden palm that had descended from the top of the ancient temple.

The sword attack was not some complicated technique or sword move but was instead an accumulation of the different sword techniques and moves Xuan Hao had managed to comprehend so far.

Whoosh~

Boom-boom-boom!

This was also displayed as the silver sword light in the shape of a crescent moon split up into hundreds of different sword moves just when it was about to reach the golden palm before all of them attacked the golden palm simultaneously.

Crack!

Not able to withstand the combined sword moves all attacking it at once, the golden palm only resisted for a short moment before shattering together with the silver sword light that formed the different sword moves to attack it.

"…"

Seeing this, Xuan Hao could not help frowning as he glanced up towards the top of the ancient temple.

From the attack just now, he understood that the other party was indeed not someone in the Soul Ascension Realm… But even then, the other party was far stronger than he had expected and should not be too far away from the Soul Ascension Realm!

Not to mention, the attack just now, was just the other party testing out the waters… The full strength of the other party was sure to be stronger than what they had just shown!

"Wake up faster so we can leave this place as quickly as possible…" Muttering this to himself as he thought about this, Xuan Hao understood that there was a good chance the other party was stronger than him!

Moving the blue deer at the moment was not possible, as although the power inside it had gone dormant again, Xuan Hao was almost certain that it would emerge again to attack him if he tried moving the blue deer.

Even if it was not the case, Xuan Hao did not want to take the risk after having personally experienced the power of the unknown entity on top of the ancient temple. Not to mention, that existence somehow had a way to affect his mind back when he had first arrived.

Although it did not work anymore after the blue deer's help, Xuan Hao still felt fearful knowing that the unknown existence on top of the ancient temple could affect his mind without his knowledge.

Focusing all of his attention on the ancient temple, Xuan Hao did not dare to look anywhere else, as he silently waited for the blue deer to wake up so they could leave the ancient temple together.

Leaving the blue deer behind was not something Xuan Hao thought about doing, as although he was fearful of the unknown existence ability to subtly influence his mind, he was not truly afraid of it.

After all, if the unknown existence was far stronger than him, there was no way it would not have attacked him already and tried to kill him instead of just watching from the top of the ancient temple!

For this reason, even if he felt that the other party might be stronger than him, Xuan Hao did not intend to run away and leave behind the blue deer.
