Chapter 66 - Death Of The Shadow Hawk~

Come here humans! Why are you taking so long to bring me my food?
Rolling around, the shadow hawk raised itself up from its lazy position as it looked around after the human who had gone out to get its food and still hadn't returned yet.

What? Where have all the humans gone?
Looking all over the place, the shadow hawk realized that not a single human could be seen anymore as the other demon beasts also roared and looked around confused at the weird phenomenon.
Where had all the humans gone? Were they not supposed to serve them?
Feeling something was wrong, the shadow hawk along with the other demon beasts suddenly heard a sound coming from the door leading into the centre of the stables.
No matter what came out from that door, the shadow hawk felt that it would not be anything good…

"Hah… Why is this door so extravagant…?" Looking up at the door leading into the centre part of the stables, Xuan Hao sighed to himself as he looked at all the precious metals that were wasted to decorate the giant door.
The last time he was here, he had not really thought much about it, but now he finally saw how truly wasteful the Beast Tamers had been.
Soul Grade Metals… Wasted as decoration for a door…
"Hah…" Sighing to himself once more, Xuan Hao no longer thought about it as he pushed the giant door open.

Roar!
All kinds of bestial roars could be heard the moment Xuan Hao opened the door.
Looking around, Xuan Hao saw several demon beasts laying down on the ground roaring among themselves as they could hardly move their fat bodies.
Xuan Hao even managed to spot a demon beast trying to fly up into a tree, but it was too fat and directly fell down to the ground only after having flown a few meters into the air and started screeching for help as it rolled around in pain.

Why are these demon beasts so pathetic…?
Xuan Hao had no clue how to describe them as they looked more like lazy and overfed house pets that could barely move around compared to ferocious demon beasts.
Last time he was here, Xuan Hao did not notice how truly degraded and weak the Flying Sword Sects demon beasts were, it was only now, without humans to help them, that he saw how utterly useless the demon beasts of the Flying Sword Sect had become.
What would happen if another sect came and saw the demon beasts of the Flying Sword Sect…? How embarrassing…

A fat tiger like demon beasts that was close to the entrance door had spotted Xuan Hao and quickly roared at him, it was like a starving person finally finding something to hold onto, as the fat tiger demon beast happily rolled over to Xuan Hao and roared a bit more at him to get going and find some food for him.

Seeing that the human had still not moved, the fat tiger demon beast lifted its head confusedly and looked up at Xuan Hao, only to be met with an ice-cold look filled with killing intent.

Letting out a weak roar, the fat tiger still did not understand its situation as it felt a chill go down its spine.
"Looks like we will also have some tiger demon meat tonight…!"

Hearing what the human said, the tiger demon beast let out a panicked roar as it tried to roll away.
The human that had come was nothing short of a demon in the eyes of the fat tiger demon beast! This was the first time it had ever heard about a human wanting to eat it, where had the humans that used to feed and pamper it gone?
Maybe the cold faced human had done something to them and that was why the humans had disappeared!?
This thought occurred in the fat tiger demon beasts mind, as well as the surrounding demon beasts, who had by now turned their attention towards the tiger demon beast and the human.

How come that human is here!?
In the back of the other demon beasts, a certain shadow hawk had seen Xuan Hao the moment he entered through the door and started panicking.
From what it knew, the human was apparently important in the Flying Sword Sect and the reason for the human servants disappearing most likely had something to do with him as well!
But, in the past when it threw off a few people, they would never come back for it and look for trouble, they would normally just leave it alone.
Why had this human come back to look for trouble?!
What the shadow hawk did not know, was that the people it had thrown off before had not been able to fly like Xuan Hao and were mostly disciples at the Foundation Establishment Realm. The Flying Sword Sect had mostly recorded things like that down to the disciples perishing at whatever location they were going to…
Sadly, for the shadow hawk, Xuan Hao was not a weak disciple and survived after being thrown off by the shadow hawk.
"There you are…" Seeing the shadow hawk trying to hide behind the other demon beasts, Xuan Hao let out a soft smile as he walked through the crowd of scared demon beasts and arrived in front of the shadow hawk.

Letting out a weak screech, the shadow hawk brandished its claws weakly in front of itself and tried to threaten Xuan Hao.

Xuan Hao did not wait and unsheathed his sword and stabbed the shadow hawk through the head, killing it instantly.

SCREECH!
ROOOOAR!
The surrounding demon beasts let out sounds of horror as they looked at the now dead shadow hawk and Xuan Hao, while trembling and letting out screams filled with despair as they saw themselves undergo the same fate as the shadow hawk.

Xuan Hao ignored the demon beasts and grabbed hold of the shadow hawk and started dragging it towards the door leading out of the centre area of the stables.
Demon beast were especially nutritious and could help improve the strength of people who ate them, Xuan Hao planned to share the shadow hawk meat with the rest of the sect's disciples and help them improve.

Before the fat tiger demon beast could react, it too, fell dead on the ground.
"Hm… A single shadow hawk would definitely not be enough to feed all the disciples, but this fat tiger demon beast should be more than enough to make up for it!" Smiling to himself, Xuan Hao grabbed hold of the tiger demon beast and dragged its body out of the stables together with the shadow hawk.
Leaving behind a group of mentally scared demon beasts, as they fearfully looked at Xuan Hao's disappearing figure.
