686 Checking the Ancient Seal below the Raging Flame Sect

"No black miasma... The seal should still be fine..."

Reaching the ruins of the Raging Flame Sect, Xuan Hao could not help letting out a sigh of relief as he looked down at the ruins that had once been the Raging Flame Sect, one of the four top sects of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom.

The precious materials that made up the different building were not really anything that was worth much to the Flying Sword Sect back then, so it had been left behind. Keeping the Raging Flame Sect mostly intact after its defeat at the hands of the Flying Sword Sect.

However, even if the materials used in the construction of the Raging Flame Sect was not worth a lot to the Flying Sword Sect, the same could not be said for others...

At this point in time, most of the precious materials used in the construction of the sect had already been taken away by scavenging cultivators who had passed by the ruins after the fight between the Raging Flame Sect and the Flying Sword Sect had concluded.

Not to mention the Raging Flame Sect still being intact, the current Raging Flame Sect had already been stripped of anything precious that had been left behind after its defeat at the hands of the Flying Sword Sect.

Only the less important parts of the sect that had been constructed using normal materials could still be considered to be in a somewhat intact condition. The damage to these buildings had mostly been caused by the fights over the remaining resources that had taken place after the fall of the Raging Flame Sect...

Even now, a group of people could be seen fighting for a small spirit stone one of them had found in the ruins of the Raging Flame Sect below.

"Hm... I wonder if anyone managed to find the underground space where the seal is located..." Remembering that the entrance leading down to the seal was not too well hidden, Xuan Hao could not help gazing towards the mountain peak that the entrance was located on top of.

Indeed, given that even he had almost died back then as someone who had already reached the Domain Lord Realm, it was not odd that the cultivators with strength ranging between the Qi Condensation Realm and Core Formation Realm would have no way to escape if they tried venturing deeper inside the underground space and the black miasma suddenly started rising...

I wonder how many people ended up jumping down into the hole only to end up falling into the black miasma...

Hovering above the black miasma that was exactly the same as the last time he had come, Xuan Hao could not help smiling wryly after thinking about just how many people had ended up dying because they jumped into the hole instead of climbing down the side of the hole.

The rope connected to the platform hanging from the ceiling of the cave had not changed a lot since last time. The only difference was that it had been strengthened a few times compared to the last time. Indicating that someone had indeed entered the underground space after the destruction of the Raging Flame Sect!

As he continued inspecting the underground space and the divine runes that were barely visible to him through his divine sense, Xuan Hao could not help frowning after his divine sense came into contact with the black miasma below.

Maybe he could use the black miasma below to gain a deeper understanding of the Dao of Corruption!

But as soon as this thought appeared, it was quickly thrown away as the black miasma below began moving upwards.

Already having expected something like this to happen before he entered the underground space, Xuan Hao did not stand too far away from the hole leading up to the surface and managed to leave the underground space before the black miasma manged to rise more than a few meters.

Waiting for the creature sealed below to make a move and attack the seal like it had done when he first entered the underground space.

Now that he had reached the Ninth Stage of the Domain Lord Realm and had some understanding of the Dao of Corruption, he could sense the power of the creature sealed below even more clearly than before.

If he could only feel that the creature had far surpassed him in strength the first time around, this time, he felt like the creature had reached a completely different level compared to him!

Given that he still had no full grasp over the different minor realms that made up the Soul Ascension Realm, Xuan Hao could not clearly say whether or not the creature below had surpassed the Soul Ascension Realm.

The only thing he was certain of, was that it should definitely be far stronger than a normal Soul Ascension Realm Expert. Especially considering the fact that the seal below the Raging Flame Sect should only be one of four ancient seals that made up an even larger seal!

Even at this point in time, Xuan Hao had no way to fully imagine just how strong the creature in question would be if all four seals were undone and it could fully recover its strength back to its peak.

Part of him had a feeling that its strength might surpass the Soul Ascension Realm at that point in time!

Hearing the unwilling roar from the creature below as he watched the ceiling was covered in a myriad of different divine symbols and runes that merged together to supress the black miasma, Xuan Hao could not help letting out a sigh of amazement. Wondering just who could have set up such a terrifying formation that was capable of supressing the black miasma and keeping it sealed up underground for thousands of years.

Considering that the Raging Flame Sect was a rather old sect before its destruction that had been around for at least five thousand years, Xuan Hao would not feel surprised even if it turned out that the formation below had been around for tens of thousands of years.

If he was uncertain whether or not the creature sealed up below the Raging Flame Sect had surpassed the Soul Ascension Realm, he could at the very least feel certain that the person who set up the formation to seal it had surpassed the Soul Ascension Realm!

"But... How is this formation connected to the founder...?"

Remembering that the founder had left to check up on the formations that sealed the black miasma, Xuan Hao could not help frowning as he began wondering just how the founder of the Flying Sword Sect was connected to all of this.

Even if the founder had just wanted to check out the formations due to worrying about them possibly breaking and endangering the Flying Sword Sect in the process... How did the founder even learn about the ancient seals and their locations in the first place?

And if he knew about them, why place the Flying Sword Sect so close to one of them?
