750 Clash Between Two Demon Beasts!

"Hui Ying, we have to leave. Now!"

Feeling like time was running out as he could see a large creature moving through the jungle towards their current location, Bai Ning decided to wake Hui Ying up from her current state of meditation.

"Huh?"

Looking around herself with a confused expression on her face for a short moment as she spaced out after having been forced out of her meditation by Bai Ning, Hui Ying soon showed a fearful expression on her face as she saw the massive demon beast barrelling through the jungle below towards their current location.

Even without Bai Ning saying anything, it did not take her more than a few seconds to understand what was happening after seeing the demon beast getting closer and closer to them with each passing second.

"Is the way to the portal out of here safe...?"

Understanding that they would have to move immediately if they wanted to escape before the demon beast approaching the hill they were on top of, Hui Ying turned to look towards Bai Ning standing beside her as she asked this.

"No, there is a Peak Core Formation Realm demon beast guarding the area around the portal..." Shaking his head as he said this, Bai Ning didn't look at Hui Ying as he was busy trying to figure out a way that they could slip past the massive sleeping snake without getting discover.

"A Peak Core Formation Realm demon beast..." Muttering this to herself as she looked down towards the pond of water where the portal out of the jungle was located, Hui Ying could not help feeling a shiver run down her spine remembering their encounter with two Core Formation Realm demon beasts when they had first entered the jungle.

Although those two Core Formation Realm demon beasts were powerful, there was still a huge difference between them and a demon beast at that had reached the Peak of the Core Formation Realm!

"We have to leave this place!"

"Yeah... Maybe we can try to hide close to the snake demon beast and hope that it will get distracted long enough for us to slip through the portal without getting noticed..."

As the demon beast got closer and closer, Bai Ning and Hui Ying both began to move down the mountain before cautiously approaching the pond of water with the massive snake demon beast coiled around it.

The only way that either of them had come up with to leave without getting eaten by the massive snake demon beast, was using the other Core Formation Realm demon beast approaching their current location as a distraction.

Despite the fact that this did sound like a great idea, Bai Ning and Hui Ying both understood that doing this could possibly result in both of them dying if the massive snake decided to ignore the approaching demon beast... Or worse, kill them before the other demon beast showed up!

Hearing the loud hissing sound that came from the direction of the pond of water as the roaring from the distance got louder and louder, both Hui Ying and Bai Ning could not help feeling a shiver run down their spine.

The snake demon beast had woken up!

Not only that, but Bai Ning and Hui Ying could clearly feel a pair of cold eyes locking on to both of them as they continued moving towards the pond of water hiding the portal out of the jungle.

Even without seeing the snake, both of them understood that the snake guarding the way out had already discovered them!

Understanding that one wrong move could result in the snake demon beast attacking and killing them, Bai Ning did not dare get a single step closer to the pond of water as he froze on the spot.

"W-w-what should we do now...!?"

Freezing on the spot next to Bai Ning as she also felt the gaze of the snake demon beast landing on her, Hui Ying started trembling all over as she nervously turned towards Bai Ning who had similarly frozen on the spot beside her.

"This... Let's try and move back for now, it doesn't look like it wants to attack us..."

Almost whispering this to Hui Ying, fearful that the snake would attack them if they were too loud, Bai Ning and Hui Ying both began to slowly move backwards before they felt the chilling gaze of the massive snake disappearing. Allowing both of them to let out a sigh of relief.

"Looks like we won't be able to get any closer to the pond of water without being attacked by the snake... Let's try and move around it for now, when the two demon beasts start fighting with each other, we can try to move closer to the pond of water."

Understanding the seriousness of their current predicament, Bai Ning and Hui Ying used what little energy they had left in them to move through the jungle to the other side of the pond of water where the snake demon beast was located-

Just barely making it before the demon beast that had been following them appeared on top of the large hill that the pond of water was located beside. Allowing both Bai Ning and Hui Ying to get a good look at the demon beast for the first time since they had learnt about its presence.

Standing more than ten meters tall, the demon beast was covered in a thick layer of fur and two large paws with a pair of deadly claws attached to them. If not for the fact that the demon beast also had a large pair of deer like horns and scales covering a large part of both its stomach and hands, it would not have been wrong to describe the demon beast as an oversized bear...

"Let's hope we don't have to fight it..."

Watching the massive demon beast on top of the large hill staring down towards the pond of water filled with killing intent, both Bai Ning and Hui Ying sincerely hoped that they would not have to fight with it...

Luckily for them, it seemed like the snake demon beast was not the slightest bit afraid of the large bear like demon beast, as it angrily hissed at it the moment it started making its way down the large hill towards the pond of water.

Letting out a warning roar after it realized that there was a similarly powerful demon beast in the Peak of the Core Formation Realm blocking its path towards the thieves that had stolen its Dream Soul Flower, the bear like demon beast didn't want to fight with it and clearly signalled that it just wanted to pass through without fighting.

However, different from what the bear like demon beast had expected, the massive snake didn't budge an inch and instead gave out a loud hissing sound filled with killing intent as it got closer.

Not understanding why, the snake demon beast was blocking its path for no reason, the bear like demon beast froze on the spot for a short moment as it tried figuring out why it had been stopped. Given its current strength, the snake demon beast should have let it pass through its territory without fighting!

Did the snake perhaps discover the spiritual herb...?

As its brain worked overtime, this thought suddenly appeared in the head of the bear like demon beast. If the snake demon beast that was also at the Peak of the Core Formation Realm discovered that spiritual herb, it would make sense for it to try and stop it!

Having concluded why the snake demon beast was blocking its path, a terrifying killing intent erupted from the ten-meter-tall bear like demon beast followed by fear inspiring roar that caused both Bai Ning and Hui Ying standing on the other side of the pond of water watching to shake all over.

Seeing that the bear like demon beast suddenly erupted with a terrifying killing intent, the snake demon beast could not help feeling confused upon realizing that its opponent had not backed down and was instead getting ready for a fight...

What in the world is wrong with this oversized bear with a tail? Why does it suddenly want to start a fight!?

Not knowing what to think of the oversized bear that had suddenly shown up at its sleeping spot to attack it, the snake demon beast momentary confusion allowed the its opponent to attack first-
