783 Trouble at the Border

Other than the different sects that were controlled by the noble families, Xu Bao also taught him about a few other sects that spent most of their time trying their best to harass the different independent sects whenever they had the chance to do so for no real reason other than weakening the independent sects.

Although these sects only belonged to some small kingdom and didn't really seem to have anyone behind them, Xu Bao was convinced that there was someone more powerful secretly supporting these sects into harassing the different independent sects.

This was also the reason why Xu Bao and the more powerful independent sects with Domain Lord Realm Experts in them had decided not to destroy these sects that were constantly annoying them and even out right attacking the weaker sects who had yet to give birth to an expert in the Domain Lord Realm.

Looks like there will be quite a few annoying people during the meeting. At the very least, I hope they won't do anything with me around…

Not knowing what to say after he learnt about the many different sects that were acting against the independent sects to either weaken or outright destroy them at any opportunity they got, Xuan Hao felt like he understood why there were only around thirty or so independent sects strong enough to join the meeting for the sect alliance inside the Sky Empire.

Considering just how hard it was for them to survive alone, it was also a given that they would be working together with each other for the upcoming meeting and even outside the meeting without any problems.

"Senior… Do you have any other question about the meeting? If you want, I will be more than happy to share our plans for what we intend to do after we get one of the leader positions in the Sect Alliance, we are just about to start our discussion and-"

"No need, you can continue what you were doing before, I will be staying here for the night and we can make our way to the meeting together tomorrow."

Not intending to be a part of their discussions on what they planned to do with one of the leader positions in the Sect Alliance, Xuan Hao made his way up the half-broken stairs of the inn and found an empty room to settle down and cultivate until the time of the meeting.

After all, the only thing that Xuan Hao really wanted out of the Sect Alliance was for it to hopefully cause more chaos inside the Sky Empire and draw attention away from the border region of the Sky Empire and hopefully prevent the imperial family and the other major powers in the Sky Empire from finding out too much about the newly established Star Shattering Sect!

Because of Xuan Hao's quick exit, Xu Bao did not have time to say anything as he could only stare towards the upper floor of the inn for a short moment. The rest of the people who had been observing the conversation between both of them were the same as they all wondered why Xuan Hao had just decided to leave without hearing what they were planning to do with the power of a leader position in the Sect Alliance.

"Ahm! Let's continue where we left off earlier now that senior went to rest before the start of the meeting…"

Making a rather awkward coughing sound in that situation, Elder Scarlet Flame woke everyone up from their momentary state of silence before restarting the discussion they had before the arrival of Xuan Hao.

Although, now that Xuan Hao had showed up and even said he would be staying in the inn until the start of the meeting, everyone present were far more enthusiastic compared to before about the discussion and what they would do after they got a leader position in the Sect Alliance.

However, among the things they talked about, the most important was for them to find a way to keep themselves safe inside the Sky Empire without having to worry about getting supressed all the time.

Even if the Sect Alliance would still mainly be controlled by the different sects under the different major powers of the Sky Empire, it was still a chance for these independent sects to get real influence inside the Sky Empire.

"Elder Song! I have something important to report!"

At the same time that Xuan Hao was getting ready for the meeting about the establishment of the Sect Alliance, Elder Song wa quietly going through a mountain of documents related to the recent expansion of the sect when he was suddenly interrupted by an elder who had just recently reached the Nascent Soul Realm bursting through his door into his office space.

"Hm? What is it?" Understanding that the other party would not do something like this unless something urgent had happened, Elder Song kept calm as he said this while inspecting the elder who had burst into his room.

Although it was not obvious at first glance, Elder Song still managed to see that the elder had almost completely drained all of the qi present in his dantian. An obvious sign that he had been using his movement technique non-stop for hours on end to reach the sect at the fastest speed possible.

"The demonic cultivators from the Frozen Wasteland have almost managed to take over the kingdom located beside the Azure Sky Kingdom that also has a border with the Frozen Wasteland! Not only that, but it has become a gathering spot for the different demonic cultivators who are trying their best to leave the Frozen Wasteland!"

"Hm? What about the Domain Lord Realm Expert that was sent over by the Sky Empire? What happened to him?" Hearing what the elder said, Elder Song could not help frowning as he asked this.

"From the people placed to keep an eye on the situation, the Domain Lord Realm Expert and other Nascent Soul Realm Experts that came together with him are currently fighting it out with a group of powerful demonic cultivators. Watching as the exhausted elder dashed out of the room, Elder Song's expression could not help deteriorating as a deep frown slowly made its way on to his face.

Considering that the kingdom that had was about to fall and get taken over by the demonic cultivators was located right next to the Azure Sky Kingdom that had now fallen under the Star Shattering Sect, it was obvious that it would only be a matter of time before the demonic cultivators started crossing the borders and started causing trouble- No, some weaker demonic cultivators had already started entering the Azure Sky Kingdom according to what the elder just now said.

No matter what, there was no way the Star Shattering Sect could allow the Azure Sky Kingdom that was now under their control to get invaded by demonic cultivators!

"And here I was expecting for us to be able to leave this matter to the Sky Empire. Looks like they underestimated the surge in demonic cultivators trying to leave the Frozen Wasteland and didn't send enough people over." Muttering this to himself as he looked out the window located right beside him, Elder Song got up from his desk before making his way out of his room to look for Feng Chen to inform him about this.

Even if the Sky Empire was sure to send over more people after they found out about the fact that the demonic cultivators trying to leave the Frozen Wasteland and enter their territory was far stronger than expected, it would definitely take weeks- If not months for them to show up.

During this period of time, the demonic cultivators would be able to take over the kingdom that they had entered and start swarming into the Azure Sky Kingdom.

Because of this, Elder Song understood that they would have to send over some of their elders to stop the demonic cultivators from entering the Azure Sky Kingdom.

As most of the elders in the sect were currently focused on either training the disciples or helping expand the sect, this was not something Elder Song wanted to do if he could avoid it… Well… At the very least he could make use of the demonic cultivators and allow some of the older disciples to get a chance to fight…
