825 Thoughts of the General

"The demonic cultivators shouldn't try to cross the border again any time soon. Now I just need to return to the capital and figure out what happened during the month I was gone..." Muttering this to himself as he stared towards the Frozen Wasteland after killing off the last few demonic cultivators that had entered the border kingdom he was currently inside of, the general from the Sky Empire felt a sense of worry upon thinking about what might have happened back in the capital city.

Knowing a bit about the situation inside the capital city, the general also knew about the fact that the imperial family was establishing a sect alliance to try and weaken the power of the three religions. However, even knowing about this, he did not think that the sect alliance would be able to cause a large enough problem that the imperial family would not be able to send over reinforcements to prevent demonic cultivators from entering and establishing themselves inside the borders of the Sky Empire.

After all, all things considered, the strongest person among the sects of the Sky Empire had only reached the Sixth Stage of the Domain Lord Realm... And that was not mentioning the fact that most of the sects inside the Sky Empire were under the control of a more powerful kingdom. For them to be able to cause a problem for the imperial family was not possible with this level of strength!

"Hm? But... What about that senior from the Star Shattering Sect? If I don't remember wrongly, he was on his way towards the capital city when we met him and he should be far stronger than the Sixth Stage of the Domain Lord Realm..." Almost whispering this to himself as he suddenly remembered his encounter with Xuan Hao over a month ago when he had been making his way towards the border to deal with the recent surge in demonic cultivators trying to enter the Sky Empire, the general could not help turning to look towards Shu Yao who was in the process of talking with the elders from her sect that had helped out his subordinates.

The appearance of the Star Shattering Sect had been far too sudden, and he had no idea how powerful it really, nor did he really have a clear idea about the strength of Xuan Hao whom he had met over a month earlier.

Maybe that Grand Elder from the Star Shattering Sect is related to the matter of the imperial family not being able to send over anyone? Maybe his majesty already knew about the Star Shattering Sect and saw no need to send over more people to deal with the matter...

As his thoughts began running wild trying to think of what might have caused the imperial family not to send anyone over to reinforce him and prevent the demonic cultivators from establishing a path inside the Sky Empire, the general ended up attributing all of this to the Star Shattering Sect. Slowly starting to think that the imperial family already knew about the Star Shattering Sect beforehand and understood that they would be helping him out when it came to dealing with the demonic cultivators.

All things considered; this was the reason that the general concluded to be the most likely one. In the end, there was no way that he would have guessed that a demonic cultivator in the True Demon Realm had managed to sneak into the capital city and cause havoc. Not to mention the fact that the old ancestor from the imperial family had also been ambushed outside the capital city!

If he knew about these things happening, he might have come to a different conclusion, but in the end, he had no idea about what had taken place in the capital city and could only work off what information he had managed to gather about the situation by himself.

"General! What should we do now that the demonic cultivators have been dealt with? We already talked with a few of the elders from the Star Shattering Sect that helped us out and they told us that they would clean up the place and ensure that the kingdom here won't get invaded by demonic cultivators from the Frozen Wastelands again..."

"Ah? Don't worry about it and let them deal with it, gather everyone in preparation to leave for the capital city." Suddenly hearing one of his subordinates coming up to him and saying this, the general took a short moment to get out of his thoughts before saying this. Not feeling that there would be any problems with the Star Shattering Sect cleaning up the battlefield.

In the first place, the things carried by the demonic cultivators were mostly useless to normal cultivators and weren't worth that much. The only one that had anything worth it was the Third Demonic Transformation Realm demonic cultivators, but only one of them had died... And that was due to someone from the Star Shattering Sect. No matter how shameless the general was, there was no way that he was going to offend a powerful sect like the Star Shattering Sect over something like this!

"I understand, general! I will inform the others about this and get ready to leave for the capital!" Nodding his head dutifully upon hearing what the general said, the soldier soon made his way back towards the place where the rest of the soldiers had stopped to relax after the demonic cultivators had been dealt with.

"Grand Elder Shu Yao, we are going to send the disciples from the sect back before finding a good location to establish a branch sect inside this kingdom like Elder Song instructed... And getting this mess cleaned up..."

"No need to tell me this, Elder Song is the person in charge of this matter... So do as you wish." Rolling her eyes as she said this while looking at the group of elders that had gathered in front of her following the end of the battle against the demonic cultivators, Shu Yao understood very well that this entire matter had nothing to do with her and was all part of one of Elder Song's plans to expand the Star Shattering Sect and grow their sphere of influence.

The only reason why she was present, was to make sure nothing unexpected happened and to prevent any of the Third Stage Demonic Transformation Realm cultivators from breaking through the three Domain Lords from the Sky Empire.

"Thank you, Grand Elder! We will make sure to get everything done straight away!"

"Yes, you don't have to worry about anything!"

"Haha, indeed! Now that there are no more demonic cultivators around, it will be an easy matter to establish a branch sect inside this small kingdom! As for cleaning up the battlefield, we will-"

As the group of elders were happily reassuring her that they would get everything done, one of the last elders to talk suddenly froze midsentence after catching a glimpse of the large number of dead demonic cultivators all over the place and the devastating damage caused by the fight between the three Domain Lords from the Sky Empire and the Third Stage Demonic Transformation Realm cultivators that had lasted close to a month.

Even if he was someone in the Nascent Soul Realm, he had instantly realized that cleaning up the battlefield would not be a simple matter and would at least take a month or longer. Especially when considering that they would also have to fix up the damage that had been caused to the environment.

The rest of the elders were in the same situation, as they all similarly realized the scale of the battlefield. All of them simulations turning to look towards Shu Yao filled with expectations.

"Hah... I will help restoring the environment after you finish cleaning this place up..." Understanding very well what these elders wanted to ask her but did not outright dare to ask after what they had just said, Shu Yao could not help smiling a bit wryly as she said this while shaking her head at how fast these elders changed after realizing the scale of the task they had happily agreed to take on.

Although the matter would take some time, she was still a Domain Lord Realm Expert that had managed to comprehend a nature related domain. Restoring the damaged environment would not take that much effort on her part. However, because of her domain being a flower domain, the entire battlefield would most likely end up becoming a massive flower field...

"Thank you, Grand Elder!"

"Haha, I knew the Grand Elder was a kind person!"

Rolling her eyes once again upon hearing the group of elders start happily praising her, Shu Yao did not bother responding to them, as she directly turned around and left in the direction of the Star Shattering Sect. Now that the matter with the demonic cultivators had finished, she had no more reason to stay.
