893 Dao of Corruption, Small Success

Just as they were about to reach the stone door, the ceiling of the underground ravine collapsed, as the familiar oversized chicken demon beast could be seen looking down towards them filled with killing intent.

Not too far behind the oversized chicken that was the first to make its way inside the underground ravine, close to a dozen demon beasts no weaker than the oversized chicken appeared. All filled with killing intent as they looked down towards Chu Yang and Qing Yi, who had just reached the stone door at the same time that they entered the underground ravine.
"I hope this door isn't locked…" Reaching towards the handle of the stone door with one hand while grasping on to the talisman that had been given to him by his master with the other, Chu Yang silently prayed for the stone door to not have been locked before trying to push it open-

Luckily for both of them, the stone door opened without any problem. Showing a wide and beautifully decorated stone tunnel on the other side.

However, Chu Yang and Qing Yi didn't have any time to admire the beautiful architecture of the tunnel. Not wasting any time before closing the door and rushing forward. One oversized chicken was already terrifying enough, let alone over a dozen demon beasts with similar strength, there was no way they were going to stay behind and risk having to face off against them just to admire the beautiful decorations of the tunnel!
Unknown to them as they were rushing through the tunnel, trying to get as far away from the demon beast that had been chasing after them, they had failed to realize that the demon beasts chasing after them were far too big to enter the stone door, as it was only barely big enough to fir a normal human, let alone a demon beast the size of a small house…

Although they did try to force their way through the stone door and into the tunnel, they soon found out that no matter what they did, they could not leave a single scratch on the stone door or the big tree that was placed on top of it-

Even worse, the familiar sound of small legs skittering across the ground above, made the demon beasts start panicking as they all charged back out of the almost completely collapsed underground ravine. Not daring to stay for a second longer, as they all understood that their chances of survival would be close to zero if they had to face the endless swarm of spiders inside a small underground space.

Not a second later, all of the demon beasts gave up on getting revenge on Chu Yang and Qing Yi and after reaching the surface, it did not take long before they began escaping in all directions.
Unfortunately for the demon beasts, they soon discovered that escaping from the spiders like this was not possible. The number of spiders had grown by far too much during their chase so far. Making them more than capable of splitting up to chase after them individually. In the end, the demon beasts soon ended up together in a single group once again. The main difference this time around being that they had no way to escape from the swarm of spiders chasing them. Forcing them to once again try and make their way towards the outer edges of the mystic realm.
The fact that they had spent such a long time trying to chase after Qing Yi and Chu Yang had inevitably come back to haunt them.

At the same time his two disciples had once again just barely managed to avoid the demon beasts that had been chasing after them, Xuan Hao slowly opened his eyes after having remained motionless on top of the small collapsing platform above the black heart for an unknown period of time.
Even if he was not clear about how much his comprehension of the Dao of Corruption had managed to increase, he could still clearly feel that it had taken another step forward compared to before. Enough for it to allow him to once again use his domain like he had done before making his way inside the body of the construct. The only negative being that flying would be far more taxing on his energy than it had been before.
"I wonder how much my strength increased since the last time I viewed my status… And when will that main quest be completed. Do I perhaps have to find out what the black heart is before it is considered to be completed?" Muttering this to himself as he looked down towards the black heart, Xuan Hao could not help feeling that the main quest might be far too difficult for him to complete with his current strength.
"For now, I should check my status before making a decision about continuing to try and find out more about the black heart or leaving." Shaking his head as he said this to himself, Xuan Hao turned his attention away from the black heart before using the system to view his status for the first time in what felt like forever.

"The description beside the Dao of Corruption changed from Elementary to Small Success… But what is the difference between Elementary and Small Success?" Muttering this to himself as he looked over the Dao Domain part of his status where the different Daos that he had comprehended were located, Xuan Hao could not help wondering just what meaning the words beside the different Daos meant.
A realm of some sort? Maybe just a name to indicate one's progress in a specific dao? Or maybe something completely different…
In the end, Xuan Hao could only give up on trying to figure out what it was, as he once again understood just how little he knew about the Dao Domain Lord Realm and the things associated with it. Even if he wanted to find out more about the Dao Domain Lord Realm, he had no idea where he would be able to find information on it, as it seemed like the Dao Domain Lord Realm had completely disappeared from the world.
The only places where he could find anything on the Dao Domain Lord Realm in the current world being the ruins of the ancient era that had existed long before the current order of the world had been established… Something easier said than done. Especially when considering how dangerous ancient ruins like this were. Not to mention, his only real encounter with someone who knew anything about the Dao Domain Lord Realm had tried to kill him…
"For now, the most important thing is figuring out what the main quest means with secrets hiding in the core of the ancient battlefield. Is it really something that requires me to find out more about the black heart, or something different…?" Muttering this to himself as he looked over the main quest that had not yet been completed even after he had entered the body of the colossal construct and found the black heart inside of it, Xuan Hao wanted to see if he had missed something when he had first read through the main quest.
