904 Chased... Again...
"Qing Yi... I think it's best for us to leave before the spider decides to attack us." Looking towards Qing Yi who had pretty much ignored the spider after seeing it and instead fully focusing her attention on the spiritual herb sticking up from the ground beneath it, Chu Yang could not help nudging her shoulder gently before saying this.
No matter how precious a Transcendent Grade Spiritual Herb was, there was no way they would be able to get their hands on it with the spider demon beast around. Especially when considering that the spider demon beast had at least reached the Seventh Stage of the Nascent Soul Realm and should be far more powerful than the oversized chicken from earlier.
Even if the oversized chicken had reached the Eighth Stage of the Nascent Soul Realm, it was not really that strong for an Eighth Stage Nascent Soul Realm demon beast. Thinking about the oversized chicken, Chu Yang could not help wondering just how such a demon beast had even managed to survive inside the jungle and reach the Eighth Stage of the Nascent Soul Realm…
"Leave!? But what about the spiritual herb? Even if the spider demon beast is strong, it should still be possible for you to hold it back for a short period of time. During which, I can snatch the spiritual herb." Shaking her head with an unwilling expression on her face as she said this, Qing Yi clearly did not want to give up on the Transcendent Grade Spiritual Herb. After all, this was something that even Domain Lord Realm Experts would start risk their lives over, let alone someone in the Nascent Soul Realm.
Not to mention, she was not too worried about the spider demon beast with Chu Yang around. Feeling that he should be more than strong enough to hold it back alone for a short period of time. buying enough time for her to grab the spiritual herb. Completely forgetting how she had scolded Chu Yang not too long ago about attacking a demon beast far stronger than himself.
Well… In a sense, it was understandable why she would act like this. After all, a Transcendent Grade Spiritual Herb was far too precious and was more than worth it for them to take a risk. Not to mention, they still had the talismans given to them by their master in case things got too dangerous.

At the same time Qing Yi was coming up with all sorts of reasons why it would be a good idea for them to attack the spider demon beast and try to snatch away the spiritual herb, Chu Yang could not help wondering whether or not to do as his senior sister said.
On one side, it would be dangerous to engage with the spider demon beast considering how much stronger than him that it was. Not to mention they had already experienced just how dangerous it was to have a powerful demon beast chasing after them for an extended period of time above ground, something that would almost certainly be more dangerous in the limited underground space that they now found themselves inside of.
But on the other hand, he really wanted to fight with the spider demon beast and try and see if he could use some of the things, he had learnt from fighting against the oversized chicken. Even if most of what he had learnt would not be of that much use, considering that a spider and chicken were two completely different demon beasts. The experience of fighting a much stronger opponent would still be useful and could be further honed by fighting against the spider demon beast.
"Fine, I will be holding the spider back while you get the spiritual herb." Nodding his head in response to Qing Yi's suggestion after having thought it through, Chu Yang gazed towards the spider demon beast in the distance.
Although it had already spotted them, it didn't bother looking towards them for more than a few seconds before focusing all of its attention on the spiritual herb partially out of the ground below it. From the looks of it, it seemed like the spider had some idea that the spiritual herb was incredibly precious.
"Yes~!" Smiling happily after having heard that Chu Yang agreed with her plan of snatching the Spirit Shroom Root, Qing Yi's expression also started becoming a little worried after noticing that the spider demon beast had started digging into the ground around the Spirit Shroom Root. "But it looks like we will have to start immediately, or the spider will end up eating the Spirit Shroom Root. Considering how useful it is for demon beasts, the spider might end up directly breaking through to the Domain Lord Realm after eating it!"

Understanding that they could not waste any time after seeing that the spider demon beast had almost finished digging the Spirit Shroom Root out of the ground, Chu Yang took out his spear before charging towards the spider.
Raising its head from the ground the moment Chu Yang moved, the spider demon beast made close to no sound as its large legs moved away from the Spirit Shroom Root and instead got into an attack posture. The only sound generated being the fine hairs on its legs gently brushing against the rocks on the ground. Showing just why it was the perfect assassin for the underground world that Chu Yang and Qing Yi now found themselves inside of after their escape from the large number of powerful demon beasts above ground.

Soon, the sound of Chu Yang's spear clashing with the small claws at the end of its long legs echoed throughout the underground space. Attracting the attention of a few small demon beasts that had been hunting or sleeping nearby.
Swish-!
At the same time the small demon beasts began showing up to see what was happening, Chu Yang narrowly managed to avoid one of the spider's other legs that came flying towards him the moment his spear was blocked by the small claws of the first leg with ease. Making it once again clear that the spider was indeed far stronger than him-
"Huh?"
Something that only became more obvious after he realized that he could not pull back his spear again, the two small claws at the end of the spider leg perfectly grabbing hold of it.

In the end, he could only use a spear technique to forcibly overcome the powerful grip of the two small claws before being able to free himself.

"Looks like it's now or never…" Muttering this to herself as the fight between Chu Yang and the spider began to move away from the location of the Spirit Shroom Root, Qing Yi slowly began approaching the Spirit Shroom Root. Making sure to not move too fast, as it might end up catching the attention of the spider demon beast.
After all, even if it was a demon beast, it still instinctivly understood that the Spirit Shroom Root was something good that would increase its strength if eaten.
With this in mind, there was no way it would allow her to just approach it and take it away without doing anything.
For now, the main plan was to get the spider as far away as possible before she began digging out and taking away the Spirit Shroom Root, while Chu Yang would do his best to keep the spider demon beast away during this period of time. After this, they would then work together to escape from the spider demon beast, or, if it was weaker than expected, kill it.
The plan was great, but, there was just one little problem with it-
ROAR!
And that was the fact that they didn't account for any other powerful demon beasts showing up during the short timeframe that it would take to carry out the plan…
For this reason, the large mouse demon beast at least double the size of the spider demon beast appearing just as she managed to free the Spirit Shroom Root from the ground, was not within their expectations of how things would turn out. Especially the fact that the large mouse demon beast was also in the Seventh Stage of the Nascent Soul Realm.
Dealing with one such demon beast with their current strength was fine, but two? This was not something they could deal with, even if they worked together!

Because of this, Chu Yang and Qing Yi didn't waste a single second before escaping in the same direction. None of them wanting to repeat the same chase that they had experienced above ground.
All things considered, they had still managed to get their hands of the Spirit Shroom Root, but… They had also managed to get two angry- no, greedy would be more appropriate considering their main target being the Spirit Shroom Root, demon beasts chasing after them.
