964 The Sandworm's Dao



Although the Dao of Corruption had only just begun devouring its vitality, the speed at which it was spreading through the paths carved out by the sword energy was increasing and before long, the Dao of Corruption had spread throughout the entire body of the sandworm.

Feeling the Dao of Corruption rapidly starting to devour its vitality, the sandworm let out a painful roar as a terrifying killing intent emerged from the depths of its eyes. Although it was in a rather bad situation when the sword energy permeated throughout its body, it did not truly believe that Xuan Hao would be able to do any real damage before it reached the sand below, but this changed the moment it felt the Dao of Corruption infiltrating its body before starting to devour its vitality.

Even if it should be able to reach the sand before the Dao of Corruption devoured it completely from the inside, it understood that it would be left in an extremely weak state and would be unable to defend against any follow up attacks from Xuan Hao.

Not to mention Xuan Hao, even if it managed to escape, it would also have to worry about other sandworms taking advantage of its weakened state to try and devour it to increase their own strength.

Compared to Xuan Hao, where it could escape from by digging into the sand, there was no way that this kind of escape would work against a fellow sandworm…

Not a second later, the yellow qi began clashing with the Dao of Corruption and the sword energy at the same time. Stopping any further damage to the inside of the sandworm's body, while at the same time also started to push back before slowly starting to recover some of the damage that had been done by the sword energy or the Dao of Corruption.

"Huh?"

Seeing this, Xuan Hao could not help showing a confused expression on his face. Not understanding how the sandworm had suddenly managed to mount a defense and push back against him, Xuan Hao began to more closely observing the yellow qi as it coursed through the body of the sandworm and fought back against the sword energy and the Dao of Corruption with his divine sense.

The yellow qi did not act like normal qi, but instead behaved in a similar fashion to his sword energy and the power from the Dao of Corruption that had infiltrated the body of the sandworm. 

This yellow qi… If I'm not wrong, it should be the Dao that the sandworm comprehended…

Observing the battle inside the body of the sandworm for a few seconds, Xuan Hao came to this conclusion.

Although he had not seen the sandworm use any form of domain so far, it was still a demon beast at the Fifth Tribulation of the Soul Ascension Realm. No matter how bad its comprehension was, it should still have comprehended a domain at its current realm.

As for what kind of Dao it had ended up comprehending, it was rather obvious.

So, it comprehended the Dao of Sand, I thought that its ability to manipulate the sand was due to the fact that it was a sandworm, but… Now it looks like the reason it has this ability is because it comprehended the Dao of Sand!

Narrowing both of his eyes as he thought about this, Xuan Hao realized that it would be impossible for him to kill the sandworm with the sword energy and Dao of Corruption before it could escape underground… And watching as half of the sandworm's body had already been submerged in the sand, Xuan Hao could only try and think of another way to kill it before it had a chance to escape.

Hm? What about the Dao of ice… It should be weak to it according to the scroll of trials, but… Is this weakness perhaps alluding to the fact that the Dao of Ice has some sort of restraining effect on the Dao of Sand?

During this time, Xuan Hao suddenly remembered how the scroll of trials had listed the Dao of Ice as one of the weaknesses of the sandworm.

Although he had no idea how the sandworm would be weaker against the Dao of Ice compared to any of the other Daos he had comprehended before, he now finally had an idea as to how the sandworm would be weak against the Dao of ice-

And not really having any other options left, Xuan Hao gathered most of his remaining power together in a single attack using the Dao of ice before pushing it through the small openings and along the path carved out by the sword energy and into the body of the sandworm.
