Damian's POV
I didn't know I had slept off on the hospital chair I sat on, when I felt a hand tapping me on my shoulder, I woke up wiping my eyes from the sleep. It was Lucas, He looked at me and smiled
"The famous Damian Anderson, college president and every girl crush, who would have thought that one day you will find this plastic chair so comfortable to sleep on" he teased still smiling.
"How is she?" I asked.
"she is good and awake, I am just coming from her private ward as requested by his excellency" he said prostrating jokily
"Be serious" I said trying not to laugh at his silly joke.
"why don't you go in and see her" he said as I took in a deep breath.
"I don't think she wants to see me, at least, that is what I could deduce from what Beatrice was try to say earlier. I will just be out here if she needs anything I will gladly provide it for her" with that I stretched on my chairs, I was starting to have body aches from the uncomfortable position I was sleeping.
"Where is Beatrice?" I asked suddenly realizing she was no longer there.
"She left after I promised her that I will be working the night shift in other to keep watch on our two best friends." He said in the most funny way.
"your girl do not seem to like me at all" I said looking at Lucas.
"Dude you just broke her best friend heart, do u expect her to give you candies for that" he said bluntly
"I guess that's fair enough then" I said yawning.
"Should I grab you some snacks?"
"No, thanks" yawns again
"what time is it?"
"Its 1:30am and you look like shit" he said while I gave him the back off look, I was not in for any joke.
"I have been thinking about who might have done this to her? it looks like the work of a scorned lover or something"
"Is Sophia aware of you guys dating?"
"I don't think so, but even if she is, I don't think she is capable of doing this. She could pick a fight, play pranks and all but not to kill. She called earlier and said she will be here in the morning"
"An obsessed person is capable of doing anything Damian, come to think of it, who else can enter into the female hostel to commit such evil"
"I miss her a lot Lucas, how can she be so close to me but yet seem so far away. I was so scared earlier thinking I was going to loose her. I don't know how else to prove to her that I love her and that she means the world to me. She makes me want to be a better person. I have never felt this way about anyone, its strange you know
You should hear her talk about her dreams and aspirations, with so much passion, I want to be part of everything she wants to be" I said wholeheartedly
"Why don't you go in and tell her, she needs to know how much you care for her."
"I know, but I don't want to upset her also"
"If you don't go in there to express yourself, she may never get to know your true intentions."
"I actually thought about asking her to move in with me for the main time, till we figure out who is behind this?" I don't even think Sophia should continue staying in that room"
"Its a good idea, but will she agree to it? How do you intend keeping her out of Sophia sight?" Lucas asked. I sighed as I stood up from the chair,
"that will be if I ask her, and for Sophia I plan on talking with her as soon as she gets back" I said as Lucas led the way to her ward. He opened the door and walked in to talk with Erica.
"how is my favorite patient doing" I heard him ask her, she smiled and said
"I'm fine thank you"
As I got closer to them he excused himself.
"I will be outside if you guys need anything".
He said as he walks out.
I saw her looking around, almost as if she was deliberately ignoring me. we finally made eye contact and stared at each other for some Bollywood moment and I could swear I saw love in her eyes. she loves me whether she tries to hide it or not, it is written all over her.
She was looking weak and worn out, I slowly moved to her bedside as she looked at me. I sat down on one of the chairs closest to her and just stared at her eyes, she looked distance and confuse, it felt as if she was hiding something from me.
I had so much to say but didn't know where to start, I was scared of saying something wrong that might just not piss her off.
"I never really got to say thank you for saving my life, thanks"
she said while staring at something else. I just looked and I just I mumbled "you are welcome" with my eyes.
"Are you having any pains" I asked
"yea but not too much" she replied.
"You look like shit"
"Yea, right its all for a good course" I said as she smiled.
"I need something in exchange for saving your life?" I said uncertain of what her response might be, she looked at me surprise at what I just.
"Well it depends on what you are demanding" she said.
"I would like you to come live with me till we find out who was behind your attempted murder"
Erica's POV
I looked at him, he was no longer his former self, he looks beaten and down. I contemplated on the best answer to give him, because in as much as I would love to move in with him, I feel much safer when he is around me.
I was so scared earlier that Sophia would come back to finish what she had started, but all that fear and anxiety left immediately I saw him walk in through the door.
"I don't think that is a good idea" I finally said and continued.
"considering the fact that I would like us to take a break from whatever we have going on right now" I said as the words rolled out of my mouth while my heart broke with it. He didn't look surprise, he just closed his eyes.
"Why are you breaking up with me, is it because of what happened yesterday morning?"
He asked softly and suddenly my body started aching for his touch, I loved him more than I could say or express, but this my decision is the best for the both of us.
"Yes, I can't trust you anymore" He just kept kept staring at me, his eye dark and a glint of anger in that he is trying so hard to hid.
"I'm sorry babe, it seems you misunderstood me the first time, I was not asking you for permission, I just wanted you to know that you are moving in with me. and No I did not give you the permission to break up the relationship I started, when I'm done I will let you you know"
he said as he took my hands and started kissing it, up to my neckline, his kisses were like painkillers, I heard him groan under his breath as his hands travels down to my thighs, he teased my core with his thumb until I let out a soft moan.
I needed to stop him before I will lost the will to do so, I just couldn't because it felt so good, good thing we were alone in the ward, on a second thought, that is rather odd, I have heard of how the school clinic can been overly crowded but here I was having a room to myself.
He kept tormenting me with his mouth and finger till I could swear I wanted more than he was offering, but he stopped. He looked at me and gave me a sexy devilish smile.
"You love me Erica and I am head over heels for you, the earlier you start accepting that the better for the both of us, I will take the couch if it makes you feel better while you are in my apartment" he said as he stares deep into my eyes
in a different scenario, I would have jumped at the offer, but not when Sophia wants me dead.
"so what about Sophia and your other friends with benefits?" I asked unable to hid the fact that I was a jealous lover.
"You sound sexy when I hear a bit of jealousy in your voice, I will talk to Sophia as soon as she returns" he said
"Where is she?" I asked
"She went home but she will be back in the morning. I have to go now because, I have too many dirty thoughts rushing through my head right now" he said as he smirked at me.
I tried to act as if what he just said didn't have any effect on me, when in reality I have fantasized how fun it could be to to banged in a hospital bed, no thanks to porn movies with nasty nurses and patients scenes.
Erica self control or Sophia kills you.
"I don't love you anymore and I don't want to be around you" I said, avoiding his gaze, my voice like that of toddler refusing to take a lollipops from her dad because she is angry.
I love you and I want to be around you so don't worry , my love will be enough for the both of us. he said as he stood up, I will be outside if you need anything" he said and walked out.
