Sam felt her brother's hand slip into her hair, so full of fervor and possessiveness that a shiver ran down her spine and she closed her eyes in shame. He had practically forbidden her to ever let a man get close to him, but she was still snuggled up to him here and wanted nothing more than to be touched by him the way he touched other women. It was disgusting.
She should feel disgusting because no sister should want to be abused by her brother like that. Especially not when she actually loved said brother. Love. Was she already so broken, so destroyed, that she read more into this sibling affection than she should? Probably because the kiss she had given him had triggered something in her.
He had been absolutely innocent, they had kissed like this many times before and it had never been more than an expression of affection. The hand slid further down her hair, curled around her neck and his thumb traced the outline of her delicate jaw before her warm, hard pillow shifted beneath her and bent over her face. Because of the position, she wasn't able to look at him and ask what he was up to, but she didn't have to.
Killian's lips brushed her ear and pinched her earlobe, causing her to giggle and walk away. She grabbed her hands for his and held them tight as Sam sat up and looked at him with a big smile. But her smile began to tremble. There was no mischief in Killian's eyes, no sign that her brother wanted to tease her and the serious look he gave her made this situation much more serious than she wanted it to be.
"I'm ticklish, you know that," she ground out nervously, relieved when he started to smile too.
"I know, that's why I'm doing it." She was supposed to play along and tried not to blush. Blushing wasn't really her style. She looked away for a moment and as soon as she took her eyes off her brother, he grabbed her, pushed her back into the mattress and pushed himself onto her. She should laugh, Samantha knew she should, but she couldn't. It felt strange to feel him on her. So wrong, so damn wrong.
"I don't want to play," she replied to his bright eyes and that smile on his lips, which seemed a little sneaky.
"Neither do I," he said, grabbing her hands and capturing them in his grip next to her head. Samantha just looked at him, getting nervous when she met his gaze, which actually had nothing playful in it. His face bowed down to hers and with every inch he got closer she felt her heart beating harder against her chest.
Fire exploded in her cheeks and blood pounded in her ears. He would kiss her. She was quite sure he would that would do. And something in her doubted that it would turn out to be as innocent as her own kiss. It would be serious, intense, and wrong. Wrong. Wrong. No, he couldn't kiss her. Not like that, that wouldn't be right.
"Killian," she whispered into his mouth. It was meant to be a warning, but it sounded breathless and far from warning. His lips hovered over hers as he locked eyes with hers. That wasn't her brother anymore, there above her, that was a man she didn't know and never should have met. Inwardly she begged him not to do it, not to cross that line, not to turn this love they shared into this forbidden thing.
He was all she had and this would change everything between them. And then there was this other voice, yelling at her to come towards him, inviting her to open her lips and let him do whatever he wanted to do with her. Not correct.
"Kill! You have to come to the lounge, we have a probleeeeem. Um..." Thomas's bright, urgent voice interrupted the scene and was, much to Samantha's horror, not on the other side of the front door, but directly in the room and she didn't even want to imagine what picture he was seeing. Her brother lifted his head, looked at his best friend in shock and Sam couldn't do anything but look at Thomas as well.
He was handsome and alluring as was his streak, but his expression was stony questioning and his eyes widened as if he couldn't believe what he was seeing. Yes, this picture must have shocked him.
Samantha was lying on her back, Killian on top of her, with her hips between her legs and her hands held tightly on hers. A lewd position, apart from making it look like he almost kissed her to any outsider, too. Damn. Sam was about to search for a fleeting and certainly totally implausible excuse for their unique situation. But then Killian's hard voice sounded and broke this embarrassing situation in two.
"What problem?" Efficiently, without apologies or explanations, as if he weren't lying on top of his little sister. Thomas, however, seemed to be helped by being made aware of the problem, which was why he'd burst in so suddenly. He cleared his throat and Sam saw for the first time that Tom looked away in shame. He searched for words and for oblivion. Definitely.
"Um, Victoria's here. I couldn't stop her, she wants to see you and... well, you know as she is", Thomas whirled around with a red face and wanted to leave the room as quickly as possible. Kilian cursed, let go of Samantha and got out of bed.
"Crap. Stay with Sam, I'll take care of it."
"It's better," Thomas hissed softly, but stopped and let Killian rush past him, whereby the two men exchanged a look that was far too long and far too meaningful. For a moment the tension between them was as murderous as if Thomas were her brother and had caught some dude groping his sister. But it wasn't like that, so Killian stopped short, took a step towards Thomas and looked him straight in the face.
"Stay here with Sam," Killian repeated his order emphatically and seemed to make Thomas even angrier.
"I'm your friend, not your dog. But I'll take care of her, you can count on it." That was clear and if Killian had had more time.
