NOAH
TWO MONTHS LATER...
"I just want you to send the two of them another invitation, got it? They should come too."
"But you have..."
“Why do you start annoying me and contradict me every time? Do what I tell you, that's what I'll pay you for, you idiot!" I hiss at Shadow and push him in the direction of the door.
He's been doing this for months. He should listen to what I tell him.
"But you said then that you never want to invite her and now all of a sudden it means that you do want her with you ? What's wrong with you ? Otherwise..."
what's wrong with me
"Shadow, that's enough! If you dare meddle in my affairs again and contradict me, then you're out, got it?
It's really slow enough. I don't know what his problem is, but he really should be the Shadow he was half a year ago. His current behavior is starting to annoy me.
Slightly not he and looks up at me "I'm sorry."
I can't buy any of that either.
"So.... will you please send the invitation away so that I finally have everything ready? Because I want to finish today." I dig in again and close the folder on my office table.
"Yes boss! I'll do it right away."
Come on! Now I can finally call it a day and go to Mirella's room. I haven't seen her all day and hell, this day sucked without her. I had so much to do and had so much to do. I'm glad that everything is ready now and I can go to bed right next to her.
"You can go now." I answer his sentence and look at the door for a moment and then back at him.
"Yes boss." He murmurs and leaves my office with the letter in his hand.
I sigh and lean back and close my eyes for a moment. What a day. Today there were only problems, work, more problems and more work. I've had enough for today.
Suddenly someone knocks on the door and immediately gets my attention. Please not another problem. I do not feel like it anymore.
"Come in." I call out to the person and look at the door, which slowly opens. When the person opens the door just an inch, I immediately see who it is and sit up straight.
Mirella... what is she doing here?
"Hey, did you finally get everything ready?" she asks with a smile and enters my office.
Finally ? Does that mean she's been waiting for me all day?
“I should actually have everything ready. At least I hope so. Because I don't feel like it anymore, if I'm to be honest. One more problem and I'll shoot every one of my people. I think I really need to teach them to sort things out on their own. Demon called me earlier because the exercise equipment was broken...even though he can fix it himself and I got a "Thanks Dad" back."
This idiot. I'm not his dad. He's only two years younger than me.
Well, although I wasn't much younger than Catarina, she still treated me like her child and took care of me as best she could.
"Aren't they your children somewhere?" she asks and laughs softly.
Is that you ?
I look at her confused and watch her slowly walking towards me.
“You take care of them, teach them things... you're always there for them when they need you and you never complain in front of them when something doesn't work out. On the contrary, you're trying to explain to them how to do it better. But that's good."
She's kind of right, but I'm still not like a dad. I'm just the boss who wants everyone to get along and be happy. I don't need or want members who feel uncomfortable and alone. We are already somewhere a family that takes care of each other.
"Enough of it. What have you been doing all day?" I ask her, pulling her onto my lap.
She shrugs her shoulders and looks around the room. "Not much. I trained a bit with Shadow and after that I was in the room all day. I had to enjoy my breakfast alone this morning. When were you gone? I got up a little before nine and you were gone."
If I tell her when I was thrown out of bed, she wouldn't believe me.
"Tonight there was a deal with the Australian mafia and something went wrong. That's why I was thrown out of bed at 5 o'clock. It looks like someone overheard us and of course I had to make sure that everything was still going well and that nothing was made public."
I've only been in the business for a few years, but I've probably been to hell and back ten times so far.
"I'm sorry for that. I didn't realize it at all."
She shouldn't have noticed either. Just because I have to get up doesn't mean I have to wake her up. She needs her sleep and we went to bed late.
"You don't have to be sorry. At least one who got enough sleep. I'm done here and it's only 9pm. How about we both go out to eat? All you have to do is tell me where you want to eat or what you want to eat." I haven't dated her yet because I haven't had the time, but in the future I'd like to try to do more with her and, most importantly, go on more dates We're like a real couple now, I mean, we haven't talked about a committed relationship yet, but it's like a relationship to me.
"What do you like best?"
Isn't that obvious?
"Asian and Italian are my favorites." I answer her question and see a glint in her eyes for a moment.
"Italian sounds perfect?" This sentence sounded more like a question than an answer.
"So you want to go eat Italian?" I ask with a smile and reach for my cell phone.
She looks at me for a moment, then nods slightly and starts to smile.
Then it becomes Italian.
"I know the owner of the best Italian restaurant here in Florida. You're going to love it there." I murmur, dialing the restaurant number.
"Good evening, Restaurant Damiano, what can I do for you?" Damiano asks on the phone, making me smile.
"Do you always sound so nice when it comes to customers?" I ask him, laughing, looking at Mirella.
"Noah, my old friend. How are you ? What can I do for you?" he shouts happily.
"I'm fine my friend. What about you ? I need a table for two right away. Can you do that ?"
"Always for you, amico! When are you there? In an hour ? Does that fit?"
"That fits, thanks."
"See you later ! You absolutely have to try our new wine and tell me what you think of it." he exclaims happily.
"Adriano, CHECK THAT A TIGNANELLO TOSCANA IGT ANTINORI WILL BE READY IN AN HOUR!" he shouts loudly before hanging up.
This guy...
"The table is reserved." I pass on to Mirella, who nods and starts to grin.
She will love it there. The food is amazing, they have the best wine and the people are nice too.
"We should get ready. We have to leave in 40 minutes." I tell her and stand up with her in my arms.
