Chapter 14 BESTIES

One week later after Collins and Mary left Prince's house, Collins was shot on his way to work in a company as a gatekeeper. Although he had earned enough from the Will of Prince's parents, but he wasn't an idle man by nature. He loved his job as a gatekeeper and would do it even if he had millions in his bank account as long as he's able to keep a low profile.

The assassins who shot him sped off with their car. People around there heard the gunshot and rushed to see the victim and they saw an old man lying in the pool of his own blood.

It was such a painful experience as the news got across to his family who wept bitterly for their husband, uncle, father and grandfather. His friends also showed sympathy concerning his death. Mary became scared when she heard of it. After been fired from their former place of work, they both went their separate ways, because Collins had his own family and his daughters were older than Mary.

So it would be absurd to continue such relationship even if it would be concealed. It was very certain that they would be exposed someday so such shame should be averted.

However, Mary got worried about Collin's death because that was how Mr. Harrison and his wife were killed. But who would she suspect? Who could have been wronged by Collins? What a harmless old man. What could he have possibly done to warrant this grievous punishment?

Then it came to her mind that late Collins offended Prince. She remembered when he threatened to shoot them if they didn't leave his house in haste. She quickly reported to the police and when they ransacked Prince's house, they couldn't find anything incriminating.

Prince was disappointed at Mary and even lamented on the sudden death of his former employee. Mary knew she wasn't safe. She had to run away from the country and migrate to England. She knew Prince was dangerous but only shows his good side to the world.

She started suspecting that he must have had a hand in his parents' death. Probably because he hated the idea of him apologizing to Rose's parents, so he must have sent assassins to take their life. But all these speculations can't take him to court unless reasonable evidence is provided.

Mary was also an orphan who after 18 years old left the orphanage home and went to fend for herself by applying as a maid in Prince's house after roaming the streets like a helpless girl for 3 days and 3 nights. She slept in the church at nights and looked for jobs during the day.

At first, she wasn't a wayward girl but during those days on the street but when she was famished, she would give in to guys who took interest in her. They would pay her for sex. She lost her virginity with them. Every sex she had with them, she would always go to the pharmacist for medical check-up so she wouldn't contract any disease.

The pharmacist taught her a lot about sex and how she could play safe. They were like buddies because they were within the same age range. But Mary didn't liked the lifestyle of a cheap whore. She wanted a home. Someone to love her and treat her as theirs. She wanted a decent job that will help her sponsor her education because she had the passion for it. Her dream was to become a lawyer so she could put corrupt people behind bars.

She was loved by late Mr. and Mrs. Harrison who welcomed her in and treated her as their own daughter. At that time Prince never liked her. He always bullied her and his parents would always scold him. She usually felt sad at his remarks but soon got used to it with time.

The love from her former bosses really made her feel at home, at least when Prince wasn't around. Aside the salary they gave her, they bought her clothes, phone, and even enrolled her on online classes whenever she was less busy. So she really didn't feel like a maid. Mr. and Mrs. Harrison allowed her to call them Mom and Dad and that always pissed Prince off.

He hated her like his own shit. However, with time Mary became prettier than who she was and showed her best character till the death of her former bosses which really hurt her.

So while in England, she enrolled into a college there and paid for her admission fees. The Will she got from Prince's parents plus all the salary she's been saving up were enough for her to even buy four apartments, feed her, start her own business and sponsor her education.

She lived in a well furnished apartment in England and most of the students were envious of her. They thought her parents must have been very wealthy. She also had a nice ride.

While she was in class studying, she met a girl called Riana. Raina was outstanding in all her subjects because she was also studying law. Mary loved her instantly and introduced herself to her. They exchanged pleasantries and Mary told her that she would love her to assist her in her studies.

Riana usually organize tutorials and got paid for it. She was well known for it. So when Mary asked Riana to be her tutor, it was a tough decision for her because she was already occupied.

However, their friendship waxed stronger by the day as they started sitting close to each, got to know more about each other and usually go home together. Soon, Riana found a way to tutor her bestie and Mary was excited.

Finally, she started catching up in her studies and she gave Riana more than she usually collect as after school tuition fees. Although Riana kindly rejected the money because she felt it was wrong to charge your friends for services offered to them, but Mary insisted that she took it, so she had no choice than to accept the offer.

They started having sleepovers at each other's house. The scholarship Riana got also provided accommodation for her but it can't be compared to the house of Mary. Riana's mind was blown away when she visited her bestie's house.

It was well furnished with expensive furnitures, art, etc. So she asked Mary how she amassed all those wealth an Mary told her everything. When Riana heard it, she bursted in tears and their bond got stronger.

When heard about how Mary left Prince and came to England to live, she asked if it was the same Prince her foster parents told her. Mary confirmed it and they knew they had to do something to deal with Prince. But they must be smart about it because Prince was smart, wealthy and powerful.

During holidays, Riana would go to see her foster parents and give them some gifts. So one of these holidays, Raina cajoled Mary to go along with her to see her foster parents, but she refused because she was scared Prince would know of her whereabouts and find a way to kill her for breaking his heart.

But Riana suggested that she should use a disguise when coming with her. She wanted to introduce her to her foster parents.

"It would be such a nice feeling to meet Rose's parents. Okay, fine I'll follow you using a disguise. When I get into your room, I'll show my true identity. I'm gonna give them lots of gifts. And I hope we put an end to Prince's evil." Mary said.
