Disowned not dead
Olivia was startled when she felt someone's presence. She got up from the floor and found Pedro staring at her.
“Who is he?” He asked, pointing at Olivia's phone. Glancing down at her phone, Olivia was a little hesitant but decided to tell him anyway.
“He's my older brother,” Olivia muttered and gripped the phone tightly. The day was a reminder of him, her parents told her it was his birthday. Pedro's eyes narrowed upon hearing Olivia. Did this mean she knew about her brother?
“Where is he?” Pedro asked, wanting to know something. Olivia let out an exhalation and sat on the bed. Staring at the photos sent to her, she recalled what her parents told her about.
“He died before I was even born,” Olivia replied after a while, her heart ached at such a cruel fate. She would have loved to see her older brother, but that didn't happen. Pedro was even more stunned. It seemed Ignacio Altamirano made sure to erase his son's existence.
“I would have loved to see him, but fate didn't allow us… today it's his birthday,” Olivia whispered, she wanted to go to his grave and visit him. Over the years she had always sneaked out to give him flowers even when her parents didn't allow her to. She was surprised that her father never liked the idea of having a memorial ceremony in her brother's name.
“I see,” Pedro muttered, he was surprised to know this. He thought Olivia was unaware of Marcos.
It turned out she did; however, it was like that. Marcos was alive, and Ignacio and his wife did everything to make sure their son was forgotten. Pedro knew Marcos from one of the most dangerous gangs in all of Mexico.
He was a cheerful buy and quite rebellious, then his family were struggling financially, and Ignacio was not the top lawyer he became. They lived in a small house and lacked so many things.
Marcos was a mischievous boy, despite the good reputation his father held in the legal system. Marcos was always causing trouble and landing himself in police cells.
Of course, Pedro and Marcos were friends. He was tortured by Corina's family. Marcos was working underground dealing with illegal things.
One time he was caught in school with drugs, his father didn't believe he dealt with drugs because Marcos was a good son.
Unfortunately, when he was charged with rape, everything fell apart. Ignacio found out about his son's dark secrets at a young age. He was supposed to follow in his father's footsteps and become a good upright man.but Marcos was into bad gangs killing and raping women.
Pedro recalled when Marcos was disowned by his family, he was told never to come back because he was dead to them. So many things happened over the years. Marcos grew up a bitter man. He worked his way up to the top and became the new leader of the Mexican cartel. Other than that, Pedro knew the enmity which existed between him and Marcos.
in The clashes they had over the past years, and now he was back, did this mean Marcos sent his childhood pictures to Olivia? If yes, then what was he planning? He wanted to destroy his family. Did this mean he approved of the Garcias' plans to kill the Altamiranos.
“If it's no trouble… can you take me there,” Pedro was startled back to reality by Olivia's voice? Glancing down at her, Pedro was confused.
“Sweetheart. I don't think it's safe out there…”
“It's just for a few minutes… please, Pedro,” Olivia pleaded with him. She wanted to visit her brother's grave, but Pedro couldn't say no to her. Despite everything he was going with his elite men to protect his woman.
“Get ready and meet me downstairs,” Pedro said and kissed her on the cheek, caressed her face and left her room. This was getting complicated. If Olivia came to know her brother was alive and working with the Garcias. She would be heartbroken, especially when all her life she thought he was dead.
It was nearly evening when Pedro took his men as bodyguards in the shadows and left the island. Olivia was quiet the entire time. Pedro understood her pain, she was going through so much, and he was hiding things. The need to tell her everything was there, but he couldn't do that.
It was the best Marcos remained dead just like his father pronounced him.
After the helicopter landed, Pedro helped Olivia out and took her to the car. His men had their cars while he was driving. The drive to the cemetery was short. It was getting dark, and Pedro only allowed Olivia to stay for a little while.
“I'll be right here,” Pedro muttered and hugged her, he didn't let her go but kept her in place. Olivia felt warm and safe in his arms. After a while, she moved back, and he planted a soft kiss on her forehead.
“Thank you,” Olivia said with a smile and took the flowers from the car. This was a children's cemetery, it was well-kept and not so scary. She spotted two guards walking around, probably guarding the place.
“Keep on the lookout, if you see anything suspicious…call me,” Pedro said, giving orders to his men to scatter around.
“Yes boss, rest assured,” one of the men said with a bow and Pedro followed Olivia. It was awfully quiet, Pedro's eyes darted around, scanning the surroundings for anything suspicious. Olivia already found her brother's grave. Pedro stood to the sides and waited for her. He knew all this was not necessary, Marcos was alive and kicking.
“She must be devastating,” came a deep stern voice from behind, startling Pedro who reached for his gun only to turn around and find it.
“What the fuck are you doing here!” Pedro growled and pulled out his gun and pointed it at the man standing before him dressed in black clothes. Just like before, he had a hideous eye patch. why was he here, it seemed he knew Olivia would come.
“Relax, he-he… I'm just here to…pay some respect… I was minding my own business here when I saw intruders,” Marcos said lazily and shoved his hands in his pockets. Even with one eye, Pedro could see the dark intent in his eyes. Pedro didn't give a damn but kept Marcos hidden from Olivia's view.
“You damned bastard will pay if you dare to hurt her!” Pedro said coldly, and Marcos let out a sarcastic chuckle and peeked behind Pedro. A sinister smirk crept on his face seeing the woman dressed in black, kneeling before his grave and probably saying some emotional speeches.
“Are you scared huh… you should be… I have a score to settle with you,” Marcos muttered in a cold tone, his voice deep and strained. His eyes held anger, and it was all directed at Pedro.
“You are fucked up, leave from here or else… Every bullet in here will be in your body,” Pedro whispered coldly and threatened to pull the trigger. By now, Pedro's men in the shadows were surrounding Marcos with their guns aimed at him. Marcos smirked evilly.
“Tell your men to put their little toys back, I'm not so friendly,” Marcos remarked as his expression turned dark.
“What? Aren't you going to allow me to see my little sister… I'm certain… she would love to see me,” Marcos added with a sinister smirk making Pedro's anger flare up.
“What's going on…who is this?” Suddenly, it was Olivia who said as soon as she walked up to them.
